"I am not an addict, but I come from a family with alcohol addictions, I am also a nurse so I wanted an inside look into the mind of an addict.

To see things from their side and get a better understanding of what they go through. I got so much more from it than I expected, it spoke to me in areas of darkness in my life in my own depression and hard times. How to stand firm, To have hope and keep moving forward.

This book is worth every dollar and every minute spent reading it""

This is such a raw and emotional, REAL story. I can relate from both sides of the isle, addict now 22 years sober, and now the sister of an addict. This book resonates deeply, and is a must read, as we all likely know and have loved an addict.

A very honest and open account of one man's story about his addictions. Really enjoyed the layout and letter style chapters. I am particularly glad that though he's found solace through religion, this isn't hammered throughout the book so it's accessible to all readers. A very brave man and I applaud his road to recovery. I have a family member who is in the same situation and this has given me some hope for his future.

This was an enlightening look into the mind of an addict. It was beautifully written, raw and ultimately inspiring. The author bared their soul and ripped open their wounds and conveyed their pain, emotions and journey on the page in a way easy for us to understand.

I loved the structure of the book. It was interesting to read the various letters whilst also learning more about the author’s story. I’m not an addict, but with several loved ones who are, this book helped me understand more the workings of an addict’s mind and the battles they face every day. I would recommend this book to anyone who is an addict, has a loved one who is, and even just people who want to understand and open their minds more to addiction.

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and publisher, for a chance to read and review this book.

In my job I spend a lot of time with addicts and it’s hard to watch them deteriorate and struggle to access the support they require. This book was a poignant read but reminded me that things can change and get better.

The structure was a little jarring but the content wonderful. A truly inspiring story.
