Soo I have read this book in less than a day because I LOVE Laura Jane Williams books and this book was no exception.
Where do I start?
I LOVED THIS BOOK!
I had high hopes for Just for December, having read all of Williams' previous books, and I was not let down at all! This book is my favourite out of all the books she has written -so far!

To start off I didn't fully like the main character, Evie as she was cold to everyone and really kept to herself and I felt she got annoyed too easily, however knowing she doesn't interact much with people it seems normal to be annoyed with somethign you aren't very used to. Enter Duke. Duke is an actor, and all round dreamy guy. Both Evie and Duke have secrets they would rather not have the world find out, and once they start to get to know eachother their secrets become more apparent to them, as well as allowing them to form a deeper bond. I liked how one thing Evie was keeping from others was mentioned at the start, and I was worried it would never be mentioned again, but it does closer to the end which was satisfying.

Tropes!
If you know me you'll know my favourite trope of all is fake dating, and behold Just for December has exactly that! There is also, forced proximity, some-what-enemies to lovers,

Despite being set in December, the book doesn't focus on Christmas time and winter, though both play a part in it, and reading it during a very hot day in August it was nice to escape somewhere cooler, so yes this book can definitely be read at whatever time of the year.

I am giving this book 5 stars and I am very excited for the next book by Laura Jane Williams!

Evie is a writer and one of her books sent in Bavaria is being made into a movie. She's been told she needs to go there. She meets the leading man Duke and they don't get on. Wonderful descriptions of the different area. Made you feel that you were there

A Five-star read that you need for more than Just December. I have loved this authors work previously, but this time Evie Bird just made me swoon, Duke Carlisle did a little as well, but not in the same way, he has his movie star looks and charisma so it feels like I would swoon hard for him anyway, if he didn’t name drop so much… Evie though, I felt her in my bones, her fears and realities are some that I have faced and they way she deals with them, made me chuckle and know her in a way that I now know myself. This was already one of my favourite reads this year, and a must have Christmas read, definitely going to be buddy reading this with my friends over the festive break ( I have already told them they will have a copy for Christmas as I love it so hard) but then I read the Acknowledgements and it made me stop and think, its not a shift down the mines, but should it feel like it is? And it made me realise some important details about life. That’s what I Love about reading, you can learn life lessons while being whisked away to a film set, without ever leaving your sofa. If you need some Christmas in your life, pick this up, and if you just need a great story, some name dropping and some chuckles, pick this up as you wont be disappointed.

A must read book! This is the first book I've read by Laura and I just simply fell in love with the writing style. I loved the chemistry between the characters. I'm thankful that I was able to read it was early. Good job Laura, all the best!

I received an E-ARC with a request for my honest review.

This movie set romance takes place in Germany where they are filming an adaptation of the book ‘The Romantic Road’, which is written by the author Evie Bird.

Evie is resistant to appear on set, as she likes to keep herself away from the public eye. However, it is a part of her contract and a way for her to make enough money to cover her Mum’s future care home bills.

She is introduced to the lead character Duke but decides to keep her distance from the movie star. However, after an altercation the pair are instructed to stage a fake romance for the press to help save the films publicity.

Soon however Evie is surprisingly swept up in the magical surroundings on and off set and starts to let her guard down.

Will Evie open her heart? What will both Evie and Duke learn in their time together?

This is a lovely romance, and as they don’t start off liking each other much there is comedy as they get to know each other with their snide comments to each other.

It sounds like a lovely setting for this movie and the book, it seems like it could help encourage romance with the beautiful views and attractions they visit. The food and drink sounded amazing too.

There is a bit of drama too, and a slight mystery of who could be leaking information to the press. It shows how the press make the actors feel with the constant pressure they are under to look and behave in a certain way.

Overall, a lovely and beautiful set romance where an author reluctantly must put herself in the public eye to save the movie.

A great little snippet of Laura Jane Williams’ future novel. As a big fan of her writing I cannot wait for the full book to be released!
