Description

Whether written, read, or spoken, words are always felt.

This collection of poetry consists of six unique chapters. It is a personal journey through the phases of lust, love, loss, and all the heartache, exhilaration, and self-discovery in between. Words to remind you, although you may feel broken, you will heal. Although you may feel inadequate, you are enough. And you will gain the capacity to love again.

When you do, devour every piece of it – unforgivably.

May you be willing to open your heart to love and other company.

I really enjoyed reading this collection of poetry! The author talks about loss and love. I also really liked that she questions monogamy. I love that she also included a piece about sometimes we are the toxic one in a relationship. If you’re in the mood for a quick read filled with beautiful passages, I encourage you to give this book a try. Some of my favorite pieces were “rapture”, “bewitched” and “promise”!

Love and Other Company by Celia Sinclair is a very personal journey of love and loss, and of hope and healing. The beautiful, lyrical verses are artfully woven together in six chapters, each emphasizing the consumptive power of love, a force that can heal, elate, destroy, and redeem, all in equal measure. The collection serves as a beautiful reminder to open our hearts to the infinite possibilities, and to love freely and fearlessly.

Many thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for an ARC.

A lot of the time I look at the cover of a book to determine wether I should get it or not. I saw this cover and fell absolutely in love with it. The cover has several meanings but once you read the poetry collection you will see what meaning of the poems have. The poems linked really well with the cover. The poems themselves will provoke deep emotions and the poems are thought provoking. This poem collection is a must read for self healing.

I received a free copy in exchange for a honest review.

📚’Love and other Company’ Celia Sinclair📚 Publication expected September 2022.

The poetic artistry of Sinclair exploring the love, grief, hope and disappointment of relationships was highly relatable.

Sinclair explores the cycle of falling, hurting and having to heal while then questioning if she can keep going through the seemingly never ending loop. This questioning is the highlight for me personally as I can relate to it at present, I also think that it is a theme that is not explored that often and was refreshing to hear someone else having some of the same thoughts.

Unexpectedly I related to multiple sides to the story from being the one left hurt to being on the other side and being the one who entered into something not quiet sure if I was ready for the commitment.

Many of these pages have been bookmarked for me.

Normally, I love writing poetry, and reading poetry can be tiresome...

but this anthology/poetry book was beautiful.. I could not put this down... I loved it!
it was so descriptive and it felt so real to me and it has made me want to pick up my pen and try to write some poetry that cannot stand up against the beauty of this collection...

Love and Other Company by Celia Sinclair is a journey through so many emotions of the author. There is sadness, joy, fear, shattered dreams, trying to pick up the pieces, and hope.

Love and Other Company contains beautiful poetry, rich with deep imagery and heartfelt emotions pouring from each page.

One of my favorites was the beginning lines of Ideal that said blue skies, warm sand, you and I, hand in hand.

I would recommend this book and give it a 4 out of 5 stars.

I really loved this collection of poetry! I can safely say this is my favourite poetry of 2022 and I think it will stay that way!
I love the types of poems she wrote and the the storyline behind them all!
I also loved how each section was names after somebody - it felt like I was reading thoughts on what that relationship and recovery felt like and I just adored that!
I honestly could not recommend this poetry book enough!

Poetry is a departure from the mysteries and thrillers that take up most of my time. It was a welcome diversion. to read Love and Other Company.

I definitely felt the love, but what really pulled at me was the hurt of loss. Time and time again. I really felt the author's yearning for being in a fulfilling relationship. The trials and errors of achieving that was so heartbreaking. Alas, at the end was at least a peace of mind.

Thank you to the author, NetGalley, and Books Go Social for the arc.
