I don't usually read romance or fluffy novels. But I had to read this one because...cats. they made the story. I ended up enjoying it and would recommend for when you want a light, uplifting novel.

4.5 stars!!

This was such a fun read. I love cats, and am not ashamed to admit it. I also love to read, so reading about a group of strangers who met at a cat sanctuary and come together to overcome their difficulties was exactly what I needed. This was the coziest read I've read in a while and I absolutely think it's perfect as a fall or winter read in front of the fire place. I loved every single character, which is rare for me.

Thank You NetGalley for this ARC.

Thank you to Netgalley, Hera and Charlie Lyndhurst for providing me with an ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

As a cat lover, when I saw this book I knew I had to read it so I was super excited when I got approved.

I enjoyed the story, and following the lives of the workers at this cat sanctuary. I noticed a few spelling/grammar errors but not sure if that was just related to how Charlie was writing his style.

Overall an enjoyable novel

Oh my gosh. This really cute book is absolutely adorable and all those adorable kitties too. 😍😍😍

The cosy cat sanctuary is a big part of the setting of this book and I absolutely love it. Because what a unique setting and the healing power of the furry four legged beauties is always amazing. Anyone who has a fur baby weather it be a cat, a dog, a rabbit ect knows the healing power of these fur babies and how they make everything better.

In this book we meet four strangers who are brought together by the cosy cat sanctuary. Sasha is trying to heal a broken heart, trying to make a new life for herself, and trying to come to terms with her difficult childhood and trying to carve out her place in the world. Paul has been in a controlling relationship for a really long time and has just managed to break free for it. He is now looking to settle down with a real love to call his own. Luke is trying to find his biological parents, he is desperate to discover answers to all of the questions that he has, he needs to work out who he is, his history and his life. To be able to fit into the world and know who he truly is. Anna is trying to find solace from her troubled him and knows that animal therapy is the perfect place to find some answers and find some peace. Lastly we have Mum who is a social butterfly on the outside but on the inside is hiding a secret pain that noone know about.

They are all brought together for their love of cats and they find answers, friendship and love where they least expected it.

A feel good ‘tail’

A gentle story revolving around Luke’s search for his true identity by finding his birth mother. This leads him to find Sacha, her cat sanctuary and her merry band of volunteers who all have their own stories to tell. Sacha fights to save the sanctuary while dealing with the shock of Luke arriving back in her life, Paul wrestles with the demons of a past relationship and the hope of new love and Anna battles with grief and her mental wellbeing.

Without giving anything away, the interweaving threads are all resolved by the end. I enjoyed the story of these human and feline characters and I think there are more tales, or is that tails, the author could tell about these human and feline characters.

A good gentle and feel good read.

I was given this book from the author via netgalley only for the pleasure of reading and leaving an honest review should I choose to.

The Cosy Cat Society is an uplifting story that follows the lives of five strangers who meet at a cat sanctuary, each facing their own difficulties in life. Sasha and her volunteers run the Fluffy Paws cat sanctuary, which is facing debt problems, and when the landlord wants to sell the property, it looks like the sanctuary will have to close. However, the volunteers band together to save it. The story shows how the cats at the sanctuary help the volunteers address their struggles and find solace. The book is a heartwarming and gentle read, with an engaging ensemble of characters, all of whom have their own reasons for volunteering at the sanctuary.

Overall, The Cosy Cat Society is a charming and heartwarming book about friendship and the power of cats to bring people together. I recommend it to those who enjoy a gentle and uplifting read, with relatable and well-developed characters.

Volunteering at a cat shelter during dark times helped me immensely, so when I saw this book I bought it immediately! My wonderful experience was faithfully mirrored in the narrative, and the volunteers likewise had their own stories. I’m glad there was a happy ending for everyone. Such a lovely book to read on the beach, in bed - or any time you need cheering up! Loved it.

Princess Fuzzypants here: . It took me a bit longer to get into the book as I kept waiting for the kitty characters to make their appearance. But slowly I became ‘enmeshed in the lives of the humans who volunteered and took care of the cats until they could find their forever homes.

There is Luke who is searching for his birth mother who happens to be Sasha, who run the charity. He is determined to find out who he is in spite of the objections of his adopted parents and the avoidance of Sasha. What he finds is so much more. All the characters have been damaged. They all do not realize it but they need the support and friendship of the people with whom they share the journey of saving the rescue and finding a new home for the cats.
There is Paul and Anna and Mim who turns out to be the catalyst for many of the good things that happen. They find love and purpose caring deeply about the cats.

Anyone who has ever volunteered at a shelter will understand the human/feline connection. The kitties and the humans who look after them are very special. Four purrs and two paws up.

The Cosy Cat Society was a real life book. I don't mean that it was a biography, but it was fiction that captures all facets of life as so many of us live it. The sheer amount of topics that this book touches on all wrapped up in a theme of animal therapy is amazing. Each of the characters the book follows has their own issues. Sascha, the owner of the cat sanctuary is struggling with the upcoming eviction from the property and has no idea how to ask for help. On top of all that, the child she gave up when she was 16, has shown up as a grown man asking to know who his mom is. That man Luke just wants to know why he is the way he is, and feels the only way to do that is to meet and understand the woman who gave him one half of his genetics. Paul just recently got out of a horribly emotionally abusive relationship and is trying to figure out how to go about life now that he has the freedom to do so without being judged. Mimi is a retiree, with no children, trying to come to terms with the way her life turned out. She had great times as a holiday agent in Spain with her husband. All that time abroad has left her depressed over the fact that they never had a family, no matter how hard they tried. Last, but not least, there is Anna. Anna was the character I connected with the most. She has just lost her parents after a year long battle with dementia. She has some severe mental health issues that cloud her judgement in every way. She can't bear to get rid of anything with sentimental value (which is everything). She is anxious about everything life has to offer. The author does a fantastic job of demonstrating just how mental health problems manifest as issues that other people can clearly see are ridiculous. Or that it's just completely irrational. However, when you're in the thick of it, your brain chemistry clouds all of this. So, all of these characters interact to bring out the best in each other. Through all of their trials and tribulations, everyone that volunteers in the cat sanctuary learns how to deal with all of these real life problems. The underlying work with the cats as a type of therapy brings all of them together and unites them in a cause.. They need to save Fluffy Paws and they need to do it quick. If you are looking for a book to show you that life will always find a way to work itself out, and that there is always a way to find a family, The Cosy Cat Society is for you.

The story of five strangers who meet at a cat rescue and help each other as well as all the cats. Told from various points of view, but easy to keep up with.

I am a cat person through and though and immediately picked this story because it sounded touching and fun. And it sure was! The story warms the heart, the cat sanctuary setting was purrfect, and the charming narrative and fully fleshed characters -- each working through personal angst -- made for a feel-good tale I could not put down. Recommended!
