Good and evil, big business pharmaceuticals and environmentalists, and even family relationships are all sub-plots in an excellent story taking place in the Amazon region. Main characters April and Ian form a great team as they fight for their own lives in their battle to protect the environment.

This was a great start to the Life Engine series, it does everything that I was wanting. Rick Baker has a great writing style and it left me wanting more in this series. I could see why this is becoming a movie.
