After a boating incident lands Evan in the hospital, Mel is mistaken for his fiancee by his welcoming yet quirky family. And, in exchange for Evan's help with her social media content, Mel agrees to fake their engagement for just. one. week.

But reeling in their budding feelings for each other proves more difficult than expected.

Is Mel willing to sacrifice her picture-perfect life in the city for a chance at true love in the wild?

Amy Lea’s influencer series has ended on a high and that is bittersweet.
I have enjoyed this whole series so much I didn’t want it to end and whilst any of these books can be read on their own it’s a treat to read them all.
Cora’s Cove sounds idyllic and the Whaler family are the perfect group of people to bring our main character, Melanie, ‘home’.
A small town grumpy x sunshine romance that you really won’t want to put down, I love Amy Lea’s style of writing and she has become an author ’must read’ for me.
This book has a great setting, a great romance and great supporting characters…. Definitely recommend!

I received this book as a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

'The Catch' is the final instalment in Amy Lea's influencer series and I'm incredibly sad to see the series end.

'The catch' is beautifully written, the start of the book sees Mel mix up her holiday dates and from there on enters Evan, a grumpy fisherman with a huge heart. This book teaches the importance of the people around you; its not all about how many likes you get on an Instagram and I found it refreshingly pleasant to see Mel realise she doesn't need filters in order to look or feel beautiful.

In today's beauty standards, the world is harsh and people are cruel. This book has reminded people it's okay to be yourself and it's okay to be happy with what you already have. Amy Lea has once again shed light and a different perspective on social issues.

The influencer series will be sorely missed, 'Set On You' will always be a firm favourite of mine, but 'The Catch' is up there too. It has a homely feel to it. Reading this book is like coming home to your family and loved ones. A world within a world. Well done Amy! I can't wait to see what comes next.

Melanie is offered the opportunity to take an all-expenses-paid gateway in exchange for content and promotion on her socials. After a hotel mix up, she finds herself stranded in East Cost Canada without accommodation, during the busiest season, for seven days. When the only available accommodation is an hour and half away with a grumpy owner who doesn’t want her there, she decides to make do for a week. I mean what could possibly happen in seven days…

I have said it before and I will say it again, Amy has the ability to grasp your attention from the very first page. She writes the most superb characters, and it has been wonderful to read her writing flourish throughout this whole series.

This book was everything I wanted and was the perfect end to an impressive series. Whilst reading, I just kept thinking the only detail that would make this more perfect is reading from Evan’s perspective, so the epilogue was a nice touch.

I am heartbroken to say goodbye to this series, but I can’t wait to read what comes next from Amy Lea.

My REVIEW of The Catch by Amy Lea
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First of all thank you so much to Amy Lea and Penguin random house for my advanced eARC of this book! I loved it so much!! Amy Lea has become one of my favourite Authors of all time, I would highly recommend any of her books to you. If you like Beth O’Leary or Taylor Jenkins Reid books I’d personally say you will definitely enjoy this book!

This is her third book in the influencer series although I haven’t read the first one, but I can say that the books can be read individually because they follow different characters. I love how the books talk about the reality, the real people and it isn’t all about who they create themselves to be on their social media platforms.

This book is predominantly set in a small town in Canada, where she meets the Small town fisherman. This book features a slow burning romance so if you enjoy reading about those this book is definitely for you! I gave this book five stars because I could not fault it, I read it within 2-3 days and I didn’t want to put it down at any points!! ❤️❤️

Favourite quote: “of course. I love you. My home is with you” ❤️🥹

10/10 warm fuzzies in full affect in this spectacular book.
Amy Lea does a wondered job of hooking you in, the little love bug inside me did a happy dance when Evan softened to Mel and vice versa. I devoured this book and couldn't put it down.

I loved it!! Amy Lea is one of my fav romance authors now. Evan was perfection. Her best male MC yet. The banter was great. The spice was even better.

Highly recommend!!

Absolutely swoonworthy. I adored this one. I read it on one day and regret nothing. Amy Lea does it once more with a knockout read filled with heart and fantastic steam. I just love and adore the writing style. A fantastic read all around.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sending me an e-ARC!

Grumpy x Sunshine. Only One Bed. Fake Dating. Lobsters. Honestly, what more do you need in a fun contemporary romance?

I adored this book, which is completely unsurprising considering how obsessed I am with the first two Influencer books. One thing I love about Amy's writing is that the characters aren't just copy-paste versions with different coloured hair - each FMC is different in looks, style, personality and taste, and the same goes for the MMCs. We had Scott, who was a Chris Evans-esque firefighter, then Trevor all lean and tattooed. And now we have Evan the burly lobster fisherman with a love of plaid. We love to see variety in our book boyfriends! More of this please!

The Catch made me laugh out loud multiple times, but also tugged at my heartstrings in a big way, which I've found is a hallmark of Amy's writing. She's swiftly become an autobuy author for me, up there with Emily Henry and Ali Hazelwood. I loved this series and can't wait for the next one!

I… I’m speechless.

Wow, ok, so, I finished The Catch yesterday. Aaaand, I’m obsessed!?
FYI, if you enjoyed It Happened One Summer by Tessa Bailey then you NEED to read this book. It was so similar in a lot of ways and I fully enjoy every minute of it.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Evan! EVAN! He screamed Brendan for me from IHOS and I could NOT breathe. This man. The things this man did for Mel just made my heart melt. He literally stood, for like twenty minutes in a beauty store picking every single style of fake eyelash because hers got soaked in the water… SWOON!
He’s thoughtful, he’s caring, he has desires and knows what he wants and like, he knows his way around the body, shall we say.
Mel was fucking hilarious, sorry. She’s witty and sarcastic and I LAUGHED OUT LOUD at her remarks, especially the hallmark movie comment HAHAH!
She definitely had some personal character growth which I liked a lot. But at the same time, yes, she was an influencer and had more money than she knew what to do with and has a condo and wears designer clothes, BUT BUT BUT, she did it without being cocky, and that was amazing. She wasn’t your typical blonde barbie given her career choice and she felt very down to earth and fun and had her head screwed on. I am obsessed with her.
LUCY okay so we have LGBTQ rep here which is great. Lucy was also a funny one in the story being Evan’s cousin, they always argued and Lucy’s perky nature with Evan’s grumpy remarks honestly, hilarious, exquisite.
I adored the family aspect and meeting the uncles and aunts and parents, they were all so funny even though they had this like long lasting family feud.

The romance between Evan and Mel was, yes, instalove but I kinda of don’t care? It was painted as though she’d been there for weeks and weeks and weeks. The spider fiasco, the shower incident, the accident at sea, everything was just these two getting to know eachother, even if they were at each others throats

The SMUT I was a fan of and here’s why. It wasn’t as filthy as some of the things I’ve read, and I enjoyed it. I was smutty but not like SMMUUTTTYYY. And I liked that.
The writing style was easy to digest and not choppy which I enjoyed.
The third act breakup I feel had validity and was done well.
Yes I was freaking out about Julian the brother but I’m sure we all were.
The setting for this was immaculate and unique and Amy was descriptive enough that I could picture the whole book.

Honestly this is going to my favourite shelf (maybe) because I ate it up and it was so good I could not cope. That is all

I absolutely ADORED this book! I am a huge fan of the influencer series by Amy Lea, but this instalment was my favourite.

Fashion influencer Melanie Karlsen accepts a collab with a luxury resort on the east coast of Canada, but on her arrival she discovers the hotel has gotten the date wrong, so she finds herself stuck in a rural fishing village in an inn that's under renovation. The owner, a bearded, burly, flannel-wearing grump named Evan Whaler, makes Melanie feel less than welcome, but with no other options in the area, she has to endure the bad energy.

When a boating accident lands Evan unconscious in the hospital, Mel is mistaken for his fiancée by the medical staff, and the charade continues when Evan's quirky family arrive on the scene. In an attempt to mend their family feud and keep the inn in the family, Melanie agrees to fake their engagement for one week in exchange for Evan’s help with her social media content.

I loved these characters! Lea has a knack for writing real, flawed and engaging leads, with plenty of chemistry and banter between them. Every trope I love is in here: grumpy/sunshine, enemies to lovers, fake dating, AND city girl meets small-town! I couldn't get enough of the story and absolutely inhaled it. If you liked the film The Proposal, you'll love this!

I absolutely loved this book and couldn't put it down, it was so cute and heart warming. Following the enemies to lovers and fake dating troupe I just loved this. Melanie and Evan are such caring, loving characters. I absolutely loved Evans huge family, the fact that they were at every turn was brilliant. I found this book laugh out loud funny although sad at times especially when finding out more about Melanie's upbringing. I absolutely loved the style of writing in this book. This is my first time reading a book by Amy Lea but it will definitely not be my last.

Okay so now I have a new favourite of the year!

The Catch is everything you want in an enemies to lovers romance, the tension, bickering, lingering looks before the inevitable passion leading to love declarations.

I was worried I wouldn’t like Melanie’s character, I think although they once appeared quite glamorous, social media influencers don’t get the best rep, and at times can come across as really entitled or completely out of touch with what is happening. But Mel was flawed and I liked how she opened up little by little to show us the impact of a difficult childhood has had.

Evan was the same, brutish and snappy at the first meeting it didn’t take long for his kindness and caring nature to shine through. Again I liked the slow reveal of both characters backstories.

The romance was burning slowly, moving from enemies to fake fiancées to friends to lovers, it was a slow process and at times you forgot the plot only spanned the space of a week.

I liked how despite his hard exterior Evan was the first to open up about his feelings and he was quick to apologise and make the journey to compromise just to have Mel in his life.

I felt so invested in this love story that I felt the heartbreak myself. This was an easy five star read and one I know I’ll return to in the late summer months!

'The Catch' is the perfect read to pick up for a quick cosy escape from the winter blues! The characters are, as always, funny and charming making the story feel so warm and engrossing. The relationship develops sloooowly making the bickering so fun to read, I really love a grumpy/sunshine, they have my heart <3 I absolutely loved this I think it was my favourite Amy Lea yet, and as always she remains on my auto buy list!
