Bad Hair Day is a hilarious story about a bad hair day! Listen with the viral song, sing along, and have a blast with this fun and joyful colorful trip to school. Delightfully funny that it's picture day at school, and our main character has green hair for the day! We loved this so much!
Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this advanced review copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review on the book!
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of Bad Hair Day by John Phillips. This is a hilarious, adorable story about a boy who wakes up with wild hair and nothing that he tries can tame it. The rhyming is catchy and the illustrations are vibrant and fun. This is a perfect picture day read aloud for elementary school classrooms!
This book is such a funny and cute story we can all relate to! The main character has a bad hair day, and like us all, sometimes we just have bad days. In the story, however, her peers accept her and even have their own "bad hair days." This would be such a cute story in the classroom to talk about inclusivity and accepting people and all their "bad days." You could even have the kids come to school with a wacky hair and mismatched clothes, to add a little fun to the week. Loved this story! The illustrations are also beautiful.
This was so fun! Loved seeing all the different ways the character experienced their bad hair. I loved how they all celebrated at the end of it.
What a clever book for kids! On the back cover I saw that it was a song on Tik Tok with a QR code to make it easy to find. After searching online, I heard it sung and even saw a short video of the dance moves. New Zealand students even sing this in school, but I had no idea Bad Hair Day was such a hit. Now if I could just stop hearing this catchy tune in my head!
The cutest book. My daughter loved reading it and singing the little rhyme throughout the story!
Thank you NetGalley , the publisher and the author for my ARC!
This rhyming book will sure get my students laughing out loud. The illustration is absolutely adorable too.
I found this book to be great! It certainly stands out from the crowd with having the repeated Tik Tok song throughout, which I loved! I can’t wait to be able to share the book with my class who I know will go crazy for it too. I enjoyed the short rhyming phrases within the book which will make it accessible to all children. The illustrations throughout the book are brilliant too, I particularly love the cheeky chicken!
This would be good to have at a home library or a book for kids to read for fun in the classroom. It was very enjoyable.
I read this with my baby sister and she loved it. It's good to let kids know they can have a bad hair day. This is my third picture book and I am falling in love with the idea of making small kids happy.
Funny and cute story and illustrations. Kids and adults both can relate to the story and share the frustration! The song is adorable too.
This is such a cute book! Its great for a classroom. It has great flow, and of course they love the rhymes and the repetitiveness so they can sing along. This book has a great message along with lots of differenty types of children shown, which I always love for my classrooms. Thank you NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!
This book is adorable! I read it with my daughter. Great illistrations. A very fun story to share with your early readers.
The kid in this book wakes up with a WAY bad hair day. There are good similes and metaphors and descriptions of how bad it looks and then when they get to school, they realize it is picture day! What a cute story and it has wonderful evidence of a variety of cultures.
