Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for this eARC.
Well, this was a great police procedural, but it certainly doesn't pull any punches as a wonderful and loving family is entirely ripped apart completely by an otherwise insignificant loser's jealousy.
First in a series, I would definitely be interested in reading more about "newbie" homicide detective Native American Kit Hanover.
However, the author might keep in mind that one brutal crime is enough for an unlucky, innocent family to experience, you needn't make it three-fold, not sure what if anything the added crimes contributed to the story, the initial one was horrific enough.
Knocking a star of for that little bit of gratuitous violence, otherwise a fine read.

This was quite a twisty thriller, it took me a while to get into it, but the plotting kept me going and, although I had a good guess at the suspect, it was still an excellent read.
