On the evening of October 31, 2024, thirteen people were in the Deadfall Mall, a soon-to-be-razed mall near the town of Deadfall, Minnesota.
Ten were out for an early evening walk in the warm and secure but rundown mall. Two were self-proclaimed ghost hunters on a mission. The last was the mall’s security guard. Most would never leave the mall—alive. The following morning, answering a 911 call, the police recovered nine bodies. What happened in the mall that evening?
