Description

When 24-year-old barista Ami is sacrificed by a cult led by her childhood best friend and first love, Kaleb, she discovers a dark secret about her past that may be the world's undoing.

After the ghosts invaded in 2011, the world treated their appearance as a novelty. But for Ami, the situation wasn't so amusing as the slightest ghostly touch forced her to relive the specters' worst moments. A curse that no mortal should bear.

But then again, it seems that Ami is no mere mortal. At least that's the belief of a group of cultists who are convinced that there is more to the young woman than meets the eye. It's just too bad that she'll have to die to prove otherwise.

As Ami's control of the ghosts grows, she is left with questions she can't answer. Her only option is to force the truth from Kaleb, but that means convincing him and his followers to quit trying to kill her.

And, when the ghosts shift from being a nuisance to becoming a danger to society, Ami must decide if she wants to uncover her forgotten past or if she's willing to let the whole world go to hell to escape it.

When 24-year-old barista Ami is sacrificed by a cult led by her childhood best friend and first love, Kaleb, she discovers a dark secret about her past that may be the world's undoing.

This was so interesting! I’ve not read anything with this premise before and the story of Ami & Kaleb/Eris & Adam was intriguing from the start. The description of ghosts and the underworld was also really cool, I liked how ghosts were embedded into everyday life and made to seem normal. A lot of the side characters lacked development, and some plot points were rushed, however it was still an incredibly intriguing read. Easy writing and a fun and thrilling plot.
