King Henry II ruled England from 1154-1189 C.E. He spent a lot of that time doing very serious things like fighting to keep his crown and making laws. But even a hard-working king needs a good, hard laugh every now and again.
Henry was so impressed by the unique talents of a man history remembers as Roland the Farter that the king asked Roland to perform for the royal court every Christmas.
