Pandora has real problems. She still lives with her parents, she’s working a dead-end job and, oh yeah, she’s a vampire who must get married by her birthday in three months’ time or she won’t inherit the ancient family fortune.

One slight catch: she’s single.

She manages to find her perfect fake husband: her work crush, Victor, a PhD student with mountains of student debt. She can marry him, inherit, pay off his debt and divorce him. It’s a foolproof plan – well, unless Victor discovers she’s a vampire…

But the road to the altar won’t be an easy one for this vampire and human couple. Pandora’s little crush on Victor is growing, and with their big fat vampire wedding looming, will their promise of ‘till death do us part’ be fake after all?

Snarky, snappy, sizzly, and for some a bit sucky- and it all comes together in an engaging and genuinely funny romance with a cast of highly entertaining family and friends, vibes like the Addams Family, and who doesn't like that! The banter between Lucy and Elias is priceless, and maybe we'll see more of them? A surprise delight, highly recommended.

This book was really fun and lighthearted, with those rom-com vibes! I really enjoyed every character in this book and the banter between them all was pretty funny. I absolutely loved the family and how funny they were. I would highly recommend this book if you need a good laugh or a palate cleanser.

Okay, so imagine this: a vampire who’s basically failing at adulting—still lives with her parents, hates her job, and oh yeah, has three months to get married or she loses her family’s ancient fortune. Enter Pandora, our hilariously chaotic heroine, who decides the easiest solution is a fake marriage to a broke PhD student named Victor. He gets his debts paid, she gets her inheritance, and everyone’s happy… except for the tiny problems that Victor can’t find out she’s a vampire, her family can’t find out the wedding’s fake, and oh yeah, they might actually be falling for each other.

This book was SO fun. Like, if you love fake dating, ridiculous family drama, and a slow-burn romance where both people are terrible at lying to each other, you’ll love this. Pandora’s family is next-level extra—think Addams Family vibes but with more fangs and passive-aggressive comments about bloodlines. Every scene with them had me cracking up. And Victor? Adorable. The man is just trying to survive grad school and suddenly he’s in a vampire soap opera. The chemistry between him and Pandora is chef’s kiss—flirty, awkward, and with just the right amount of spice.

The side characters were just as good—I need a whole book about Elias the werewolf and Lucy, because their enemies-to-lovers tension was giving me life. And honestly, the whole book just felt like a cozy, chaotic rom-com with fangs. The banter was sharp, the pacing kept me hooked, and even when the plot took a random detour (looking at you, Morocco trip), I was still having too much fun to care.

If you want something light, funny, and full of supernatural shenanigans, this is it. Fake marriage? Check. Vampire family drama? Check. A human guy who’s way in over his head? Double check. It’s the perfect mix of sweet, steamy, and ridiculous.

Also, can we talk about that ending? Because I need a sequel yesterday. Give me more of this world, more of these characters, and definitely more of that vampire-werewolf rivalry. 10/10 would recommend for a laugh, a swoon, and just pure, unapologetic fun.

💍🧛‍♂️ Fake marriage? Check. Secret vampire identity? Check. Growing feelings that threaten to turn this whole scheme upside down? Oh, you better believe it! 🤭

This is exactly the kind of chaotic, paranormal rom-com I love to sink my teeth into. Pandora needs a husband (fast) to secure her inheritance, and Victor—broke, oblivious, and utterly human—seems like the perfect fake fiancé. The only problem? He doesn’t know she’s a vampire, her over-the-top supernatural family is watching their every move, and suddenly, this whole “fake” marriage thing is feeling a little too real.

The sparks between Pandora and Victor are positively sizzling, and their banter has more bite than a vampire at an all-you-can-drink blood bar. 🩸 Add in a meddling supernatural family and the ever-present risk of Victor discovering Pandora’s big (undead) secret, and you’ve got a wildly entertaining ride from start to finish.

And can we talk about Lucy and Elias?! 🐺🧛‍♂️ Their tension was absolute perfection—sharp, snarky, and loaded with just the right amount of unresolved attraction. Are they getting their own book? Because I need more of their bickering, stat! 😍

This book is pure fun—packed with witty banter, absurd shenanigans, and just enough spice to keep things interesting. If you love your romances full of laughs, lovable chaos, and a little supernatural spice, this one’s for you!

If you enjoy fake marriage tropes, quirky paranormal romance, and a hero who’s equal parts sweet and unsuspecting, this book delivers. A perfect pick for rom-com lovers who like their love stories with a side of fangs. 🦇💜

100% hilarious.

A great cast of characters and a funny storyline make for a fast-paced and entertaining story.

What happens when a vampire decides to marry a human when said human has no idea who they're really marrying?

Chaos, that's what.

I found myself laughing often as I read this book. Pandora's family were wonderfully weird and made everything just that little bit funnier.

And of course, the added spice was very much appreciated.

I'm hoping there will be a second book as I feel like a certain vampire and werewolf might need a book of their own. Enemies to lovers here we come!

I actually really liked this. I felt like it was a little slow in parts. I wish the timeline was a little easier to follow because it was supposed to be a three month frame and it felt like everything happened in 2 weeks instead. I loved Lucy and I really hope we get a second book with her and Elias not gonna lie

This book had everything I adore, so it was basically a win from page one- vampires, fake dating, and a slow-burn romance? An absolute treat.

As someone with a big, chaotic family, I found the portrayal of a large, meddlesome big group both charming and painfully accurate. Some relatives were lovable, some were absolutely insufferable, and honestly? That tracks. The romance was flirty, fun, and well-paced, keeping me happily along for the ride. My only tiny gripe was the timeline hopping. It was very small but I did notice some time skipping and summaries to fill in the blanks, which isn’t my fave. But aside from that (and the real crime: a third act breakup)- This was a delightfully silly, cozy, and vampy fake dating adventure that left me happily entertained. Thank you Avon UK for the ARC!

I was invited by the publisher to review this book. Pandora is in a bind as she is a single vampire who must get married before the end of the year or risk losing her family's inheritance. Victor, a regular at the coffee shop that she works at, mentions about how much debt he is in and Pandora sees a solution - the two should get married, she can pay off his debt, and then divorce him immediately. Except there's one problem - Victor does not know that Pandora is a vampire, nor can he find out about it.

I enjoyed the family in this book - they were meddlesome, like many families, and it kept the feeling of the book lighter, and also set things up for a potential series. I also felt that Pandora and Victor had good chemistry, despite being drastically different. This is a good book for an escape.

Thank you to NetGalley and Avon Books UK for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

You need to add this to your Fall TBR. It's so cute and cozy. It's set in London where our cute vampire works at a coffee shop with her best friend who is a werewolf. Our FMC needs to find a husband in order to get her inheritance and who should she ask besides the man she's had a crush on months. I would love for this to have spin offs of other characters within this book. Thank you NetGalley and Avon Publishing for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Vampire fake dating/marriage plot? Count me in.

This was a nice easy read. The plot flowed well (there were a few time jumps which I’m not a huge fan of but not a big deal), the writing was good, and it was funny at times.

The main characters relationship developed well (although there were so many occasions where I was just begging them to use their words and actually talk to each other), and the two best friends had a great relationship too - I could potentially see a second book focusing on those two, which I’d definitely read!

Thanks Netgalley for the ARC

I loved this book! This was the first book I have read by Jessica Gadziala, and I want to read more from this world.

This was so much fun, and there was so much pining and spicy moments.

Pandora, a very modern vampire, is about to turn 125, at which point she is set to inherit her family fortune. Unfortunately for Pandora, there is a very old-school clause that says she needs to be married before she can inherit. Since she is painfully single and her birthday is three months away, she is at a loss as to what to do.

In comes Victor, affectionately known as Caramel macchicot cutie, a student and regular at the coffee shop she works at and whom she has had a crush on for months. After sharing, he will no longer be coming in as he can't afford to continue getting his PhD, Pandora thinks he might be the perfect solution to her inheritance problem.

She just can't tell him , she is a vampire and her whole kooky extended family is one either.

This book gave me Addams Family meets Hotel Transylvania vibes with romance and spice. I loved it so much and it was such an easy read. Also the prettiest book cover

This was so fun!

If you liked Jenna Levine's My Roommate is a Vampire series, definitely give this a go!

I don't know what else to say besides this was such a fun little story. We have a fake wedding with vampires and family drama! Our FMC needs to get married by the end of the year if she wants to inherit her family's fortune, so she decides to marry a regular patron at the coffee shop she works at (and she just so happens to have a crush on him). He has debt, so she could pay it off and divorce and there'd be nothing to worry about. Except this is a romance novel, so we all know how that's gonna go.

Highly recommend if you need an easy, cozy and light-hearted little rom-com!

My Big Fat Vampire Wedding was such a fun and unique romance. I really loved Pandora's character. I thought she was pleasantly quirky without coming as so completely different. But even more than liking the two leads, I loved the ensemble cast of characters. I think that honestly that is what made this an almost 5 star read for me. Lucy, Dante, Elias, and Pandora's family (minus Bellatrix because iykyk) made the book so much more fun. I liked how Viktor and Pandora grew into their relationship but I do wish there was a little bit more relationship building. I found it just a little unbelievable that Pandora could think he felt absolutely nothing for her after their first sexual encounter in the book. Besides this the only thing that kept this from being a 5 star book was the 3rd act break up and then reconciliation. Did I see it coming yes, did it make it great no. I feel like Viktor came off as very quickly rushing into not trusting Pandora instead of hearing WHY she would keep it from him, but at least she opened her store and got back together.

What a delightful & fun vampire romance. This was lighthearted and funny, but also romantic.

Pandora and Victor were so adorable. Their romance is a well written slow burn that has sizzling chemistry. Their banter was a lot of fun and I liked their dynamic a lot.

The plot is wacky and entertaining, especially with Pandora's lovably chaotic and meddlesome family. There are plenty of shenanigans that happen that will make readers laugh out loud.

If you like marriage of convenience trope and quirky paranormal romances, this is the perfect book for you.

3.75.

This is a cosy/gentle fantasy/paranormal romance that does what it says on the tin. We have a vampire, a human and a fake marriage. Every vampire cliche you could think of is in this book, but that's not necessarily a bad thing if you go in to it knowing it a 'cosy' book.
I think if you are a fan of my roommate is a vampire or that kind of thing you'd like this and it would be good for contemporary readers maybe wanting to dip their toes into fantasy/paranormal.
For me this was a nice easy read between heavier fantasies and I did find myself smiling along and found it cute. Having said that there were times that it felt a little disjointed. Something that had happened in just the previous scene felt like it hadn't happened at all for a fair while afterwards which was a bit jarring as to begin with I thought maybe there was an editing error and they had forgotten to take a scene out. But it was eventually talked about again. The spicy scenes also felt out of place a little bit - almost as if they'd been put in just to be able to say the book has spice in to go with current trends. And the use of 'cleft' in reference to a ladies parts is not it.

THIS. WAS. SO. MUCH. FUN.

I'm a sucker (pun intended) for anything Vampire based so throw in fake dating and I'm absolutely sold!

I loved the main characters and found myself rooting for them and all the side characters were fab too! (Here's to hoping some of these feature in future books!).

This had lots of vampire elements but done in a fun way that showed how vampire culture had changed and adapted over the years.

The plot whilst predictable (isn't that what we want from a fake dating story?) but it didn't take away from the enjoyment.

Overall this was a really joyful read that would be perfect for Halloween, or Valentine's, or in my case a beautifully sunny day!

My Big Fat Vampire Wedding was a nice read. It had romance and spice and was well written.

I marked it down a star as it didn’t explain how there was a rule humans can never know about vampires, but then it was just fine at the end.

If you enjoy the ‘misunderstanding’ and ‘forced together’ kind of romance, this is the book for you.

I LOVED THIS. Oh my gosh. I can't. I think my fave sub-genre of vampire novels are the rom-com, sit-com vibe, and this one did not disappoint. If you loved any of Jenna Levine's novels (My Roommate is a Vampire, My Vampire Plus-One) then I would highly recommend you give this one a go. You might have to suspend a bit of disbelief and go for the vibes, but it's the perfect light read for the summer/fall months.

This was so fun! At times a little wacky, but it just added to the story's charm.

Pandora's family and their quirks were the highlight of the book. Because of this, I think Pandora and Victor's love story suffered just a smidge. They had a wonderful slow burn, but I still wanted to SEE a little bit more of our two MCs falling in love, rather than just be told it as the story progressed.

If you enjoy a ridiculous plot, family shenanigans, and a sweet romance, this book if for you! A highly entertaining story, that I'm sure I'll read again and again.

If you’re looking for a comforting rom-com with supernatural elements this is it.

There’s marriage of convenience, talking pets, spice, a vampire family which continues to grow and grow, secret keeping and a wedding which starts getting out of hand thanks to said vampire family.

I would have a liked a little more depth to Victor and to see certain family members get their comeuppances but I did like the chemistry between the characters and their shared interests, the quirky family members and the storyline as a whole.

This was SUCH a fun read, I found myself giggling so many times it’s not even funny - I actually almost fell off my treadmill because I was so engrossed in the book I forgot I was bloody walking on it 😂

What I think really made this book was that, whilst I was naturally invested in Pandora and Victor’s story, I was just as invested in a whole host of different side characters (I don’t think I can name drop, but there’s at least 5 that I’d love to get their own books!). Honestly there’s not a single second of this book that I didn’t enjoy ❤️

Thank you so much for sharing an arc with me, Jessica! ❤️

P.S, there were a couple of typographical errors / formatting issues with how it reads on a Kindle (which might just be an early days issue - nothing at all that affected the quality of the book, but please do reach out via my social media @thebooknookery if you’d like me to flag any of it! ❤️

I was in two minds whether I would enjoy this book in the first few pages but I ended up doing so. Totally bizarre and far fetched but fun. Unlikely tale of Pandora, a vampire, falling for Victor, an ordinary guy.
Mad and quirky especially Pandora's family who so so eccentric. I shuddered a little at the mention of thick viscous blood drinks but apart from that just a hoot.

I LOVED this book!

The concept was cute, but SO fun! I'm a huge vampire fan and loved seeing a wide range of bloodsuckers represented. The book was low-stakes and a quick read which is exactly what I was looking for. I also really enjoyed the side characters and found them hilarious.

The only reason I knocked off a star was because the conflict was rather silly considering Pandora hadn't told Victor she was a vampire and was probably going to go through with the ceremony anyway. Not to mention Victor had pretty much already figured the entire vampire thing out so the conflict was a bit silly but I still enjoyed regardless!

This is a delightful five-star read. This one has its moments, and can be a little much, but if you just go with it and enjoy it as a really good read, then you will love it as much as you will no doubt love Pandora, who I think is like the reader in all of us deep down. You can so imagine why she goes to the lengths that would be willing to go to, for her dream, who wouldn’t want a bookshop that everyone is welcome as long as they get along, it makes everything come together and adds a great layer to this story. I loved getting to know her and her crazy family, Victor was just adorable, and so easy to get behind, but when he reveals his PHD I was legit almost crying with laughter as that was like the cherry on top.

This was a lot of fun. Turns out even vampire have ridiculous marriage clauses in their inheritance, who would have thought? As a result Pandora enlists her crush to fake date and marry to get her money, and while keeping him in the dark of her true nature, she just so happens to fall in love with him.

I’ve really enjoyed the book. It’s lighthearted and fun, Pandora and Victor are cute and Pandora’s crazy vampire family is really funny. The side characters like her best friend, parents, brother, Elias, all make for sure there isn’t a dull moment in the book.

I loved this so much. It was such a fun, cute read and was exactly what I needed. Pandora and Victor were both two slightly awkward, endearing book nerds, and their love story was adorable. Fun, enjoyable read! The best parts of self-aware rom com mixed with a hilariously chaotic but well-meaning vampire family and a fake relationship trope that everyone (except the couple themselves of course) can see isn't really fake at all. Watching Victor and Pandora figure themselves out was wonderfully sweet, humorous ride. There's not a single side character I wouldn't want to see more of - Lucy and Elias, or Dante, I'm specifically looking at you! I'll definitely be looking for more from this author. <3

This was exactly what I needed: a cute rom-com with fake dating, vampires, a cozy coffeeshop and some found family. Also, if Lucy and Elias don't have their book later on I will be upset, they were great together.

This was such a fun and fast-paced read! My Big Fat Vampire Wedding gave me exactly what I wanted—vampire chaos, fake marriage tropes, and a good dose of humor.
Pandora and Victor had great chemistry, and their banter kept things entertaining all the way through. I really enjoyed the mix of rom-com vibes with the supernatural twist—it didn’t take itself too seriously, which made it super enjoyable.
A few parts felt a little rushed, but honestly, I was having too much fun to care that much. Solid 4 stars from me—perfect if you’re in the mood for something light, witty, and a little bit ridiculous (in the best way).

My Big Fat Vampire Wedding is a wonderfully fun, cosy and romantic read. Pandora is lovely and I really enjoyed seeing her and Victor’s relationship unfold. Her family is brilliant, the vampire references were great and her best friend was so funny. Five stars.

This book was the exact kind of chaos my romantic heart needed. It’s delightfully campy, sharp-witted, and filled with just enough angst to make you feel things under all the laughter and fang-flashing flirtation. The romance is exactly my kind of slow-burn-to-sizzle. It’s built on banter, tension, and those dangerously soft moments that make you want to scream. Every scene between them crackles with will-they-won’t-they energy, and watching the fake marriage blur into something real felt like catching feelings in real time. The writing has this breezy, addictive charm to it that reminds me of watching a spooky rom-com curled up with a blanket and a glass of wine. It never tries too hard to be quirky, it just is, in the best possible way. And the family antics made me want to be adopted on the spot. I already want to reread it.

I was a big Twilight girl growing up so when I saw this where it’s female vampire and male human romance I was in. Plus throw in marriage of convenience, one of the better tropes, and I was excited. This is a low stakes cheesy vampire rom com and I loved it. It gave me “My roommate the vampire” by Jenna Levine. I’m not a big fantasy reader. So when I find a book like “My Big Fat Vampire Wedding” where I can still enjoy fantasy elements like vampire without the faes and HEAVY world building. I am all in.

Pandora is a lovable and relatable character who is struggling to come to terms with her vampire identity and the expectations that come with it. Her family's ancient fortune, which she stands to inherit if she gets married before her birthday, adds a layer of complexity to her already complicated life.
Victor, a PhD student with mountains of debt, who becomes Pandora's perfect fake husband. The pair's chemistry is undeniable, and their banter is one of the highlights of the book. The growing attraction between them adds a layer of tension and excitement to the story
The plot is well-paced, with plenty of twists and turns. Furthermore, the stakes are high, and Pandora and Victor must navigate a web of family secrets, ancient traditions, and their own growing feelings for each other.
Overall, this book is a hilarious and heartwarming rom-com that will appeal to fans of paranormal romance and anyone looking for a light-hearted and entertaining read.

I knew this was a vampy romcom but this made me laugh more than I thought it would. It's on the right side of cheese for a vampire romance. I loved the main character right away and her werewolf bestie, they're the kind of girls I'd like to hang out with.

The parents are very Morticia and Gomez Addams coded which I loved, you can really get the feel of how hard you'd have to try to make your fake engagement look legit in front of those love bats.

This is the right amounts of comedy & chaos without crossing over to silly. I read this, ironically, on a sunny afternoon and it definitely hit the spot as a feel good read.

A cozy and funny paranormal romcom for the fans of the Addams Family and Hotel Transylvania. It was fun to follow Pandora as she tries to keep her fake relationship a secret from her family and the fact that she is a vampire a secret from her fiancé - Victor, all so that she can claim her inheritance for her 125th birthday. As more and more vampire family members arrive in preparation for the wedding, shenanigans ensue, which makes for such an entertaining read. And of course the slow burn is burning, and the fake couple's feelings don't seem to be so fake after all. A lighthearted and fun story, will be especially perfect in the fall.

This was so super cute and the ultimate flirty fake-dating vampire romance. I can't lie the whole time I was reading this, all I could think was it's basically Hotel Transylvania except it's Mavis trying to pass for a human instead of Johnny as a monster (only this had more PhDs on 18th century vampiric literature). So if that film is one of your faves, definitely pick this up!
Starting to think I'll finish up this year with a personal master-list of vampire books in all genres and when I tell you this will be top of my Romance category. Despite all the obvious fantasy books, this story doesn't feel outlandish or hard to believe because at its core it's two people falling in love - despite and because of all their eccentricities.
For another comparison, if you read A Cruel Thirst and thought wow I wish this had a modern-day cosy bookshop setting, this is your dream come true

4.5 stars!

This was sooooo much fun! I don't think I've been so in love with a cast of characters like this in a while!
Pandora is a vampire who to unlock her inheritance has to be married by her 125th birthday, but she's only just realised this and her birthday is mere months away. But then she overhears a regular at her work, and also her crush "Caramel Macchiato Cutie" (or Victor) and feels she might be able to offer them both a way out of their predicaments. Only thing is, he doesn't and can never know that she's a vampire. And not only that, but her very extensive family are quite old-fashioned and throwing a human into the middle of their chaos might just give it all away.

I loved that Pandora was challenging a lot of the vampire stereotypes and how she wanted to integrate more into the "human" world as well as bringing all species together.

This book includes:
vampires, werewolves, gargoyles (they were simply mentioned and I will need an extra story about my beloveds please) and mentions of more creatures!
I also neeeed another story about Lucy and Elias please and thank you! Because their bickering was top tier and I need mooooore of them.

Oh and Pandora and Victor? Chemistry levels off the charts! They were literally so perfect for each other and they were such a joy to read, especially seeing them navigate all of the obstacles their families (mainly Pandora's) threw at them.

This was just incredibly fun and I flew threw it! I was cackling throughout but also became so attached to the characters! They each had their own quirks and it's rare that I enjoy such a big cast of characters but they were all presented so well that I could not only clearly imagine them but also felt like I was in the room with them. If you want a cute but also slightly steamy rom-com with VAMPIRES! (my fave) then this is the book for you!

Also just so we're clear, I would read a whole book about Vlad!

My Big Fat Vampire Wedding by Jessica Gadziala was such a fun read and I'm so glad I requested it!

This is a comedic contemporary paranormal romance about a Pandora, a "vegetarian" (she doesn't drink human blood, but animal blood) vampire who works at a coffee shop despite coming from a wealthy, old fashion (emphasis on the old) family. She will be turning 125 in about 3 months, and finds out that in order to get her inheritance, she needs to marry before this birthday. Victor is her human crush who regularly comes into her coffee shop. Around the time she learns she needs to marry, she learns Victor is about to drop out of school due to financial issues and a plot is hatched. She and Victor will marry for a year. She will get her inheritance and he will get his schooling paid for. The problem? Victor doesn't know that Pandora is a vampire.

This book has fake dating; a hilarious, ginormous extended vampire family trying to hide what they are; a younger brother who is doing something mysterious; a werewolf best friend; a handsome vampire suitor brought in by Pandora's mother - and many more fun things!

I thought this book was a lot of fun and highly recommend for someone looking for a fun read! I'm excited for the author's next book!

oh, this was so adorable, funny, and did I mention cute? Pandora and Victor make for a great pair of main characters in this easy to digest, fake romance book that had the vampire twist wrapped into it.

I found the comedic parts hilarious and loved being introduced to Pandoras family.

my slight criticism? I would have liked a certain nasty character to have had more involvement, but I guess it was left as it was to allow for follow-up. Aside from this. I had a great time reading this.

Fun, quick read that gave me "Bride" meets "My Big Fat Greek Wedding." Enjoyed the vampire ethnic take, vs the starch humans. The main characters had a refreshing depth that often is over looked in these shorter rom-coms. I would love to see a spin off with Lucy and Elias if the other has it within themselves. The slow burn yearning is the best with a proper take of "vegetarian" vampires had me binging this occult quirky romance.

This was such a fun and lighthearted vampire romance! Imagine The Addams Family meets My Big Fat Greek Wedding, then toss in some paranormal flair—vampires, werewolves, and all the delightful chaos that comes with them—and you've got the vibe of this rom-com.
It had everything I adore: vampires, fake dating, and a perfectly executed slow-burn romance. The chemistry between the characters was flirty, fun, and so well-paced that I found myself smiling through every page. The plot leans into the absurd in the most delightful way, delivering a cozy, silly, and thoroughly entertaining experience.

If you enjoy quirky family dynamics, supernatural hijinks, and heartwarming romance, this book is an absolute must-read. It’s charming, hilarious, and pure fun—definitely one I’ll be revisiting again.

Absolutely love this take on all the best tropes, fake dating, marriage of convenience, and best of all only one bed, add on vampires and werewolves and you have this 5star story about Pandora and victor. I was so locked onto this book I ate it up in one sitting and left no crumbs!!! The tension and slow burn between these two had me blushing almost the entire time and giggling like a little girl. Pandora’s crazy family was also a big highlight of this book, their crazy mixing with humans had me cackling during most interactions. 5☆ Couldn't Put This Book Down!

I absolutely love a good vampire book and this book ticked all my boxes. It had humour, fake lovers, vampires, werewolves, Romance, a touch of spice, and a whole lot of books, coffee, drama, and one big vampire family!

It made such a change to not read a vampire book focused all on sex and blood. Don’t get me wrong there is a good mix of spice and passion. There is so much to this book.

I really, really, hope there will be another installment as I want more and need to know more. I loved Pandy and Victor i want to see what's next for them! Will Victor become hers for eternity?
Oh and Lucy and Elias, there flirty banter sizzled i really hope we get a story just for them!
Oh and I almost forgot Dante we only just scratched the surface on his story with his experiment.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed My Big Fat Vampire Wedding and couldn't put it down!

This was such a fun, fast-paced read with all the chaos and charm I expect from this series. The humor was on point, the characters were entertaining, and the romance had just the right mix of spice and sweetness. I loved the banter and the wild situations the characters kept finding themselves in—it didn’t take itself too seriously, which made it even more enjoyable.

The only reason it’s not a full 5 stars is that I wanted just a bit more depth in certain moments—maybe more emotional buildup or tension before the resolution. But honestly? It was exactly what I hoped for: fun, flirty, fast, and a good time from start to finish.

Definitely recommend if you’re in the mood for something light, steamy, and laugh-out-loud funny.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
Some grammatical errors but other than that I really enjoyed this book.

I had an inkling that I would love the FMC Pandora from the first page and she did not let me down.
She was shy and sweet but had a badass side to her.

Her feelings for Victor grew throughout the story and it was nice to see the care he took with her.

My heart broke for them both during the wedding day scene, especially after we were teased with the tree scene before that 🫣

Absolutely adored the ending, with everyone getting their dreams.
And the epilogue made me want so much more from this story!
Highly recommend to everyone.

3.5 stars rounded to 4. It was good, but I was waiting for it to be great. The idea was good with lots of good tropes, but just kind of missed the mark for me. One of the main issues was it felt like the story was moving very slow and it took a long time to read the book. I feel it might just one of those books it is better to read a physical copy instead of an ebook. I didn’t super like Pandora and Victor which was a bit a bummer. I didn’t enjoy Lucy and Elias they stole the show! I loved their interactions in the book. Also, the repeated use of cleft was a vibe killer for me.

My Big Fat Vampire Wedding is a fun read about a vampire, Pandora, who needs to tie the knot quickly to secure her inheritance. She comes to an agreement with Victor, a human she's been crushing on, who regularly visits the coffee shop where she works. The marriage is mutually beneficial, but he has no clue she's a vampire. When he meets her eccentric family and the wedding planning begins, things get chaotic. I enjoyed the snarky back and forth between her best friend, Lucy, a werewolf, and another vampire, Elias. I'd love to see them get their own story! And a shoutout to her pet raven, Vlad. He's adorable and hilarious. All in all, I was thoroughly entertained by this story.

First of all I would like to thank the publisher and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I loved every second of reading this book! It was cute, had fake lovers, vampires, werewolves, some spice, coffee and an extremely large unique vampire family. I really hope we might get some spin offs of other characters in the book as felt that they have stories to tell (such as werewolf and vampire romance). This also surprised me in being light on the vampire trend so wasn't all about drinking blood and the sexualisation of this. I really enjoyed the older generations vs the younger characters as it gave perspective on how times have changed and is changing for the better, the fact that the younger generations prefer beds to coffins made me cackle with laughter.

It's not a dark gothic story but is a really fun and interesting romance, it also makes you think of My Big Fat Greek Wedding which is what some of this story was based on as it is just one big chaotic family!

Can't wait to see what the author comes out with next as I already know it will be another good read.

This book follows Pandora, a vampire who learns that she needs to get married to get access to her inheritance and Victor, a PhD student that she had a crush on. One day when Victor visits the coffee shop she works at, she learns that he needs money to finish his Ph D and she suggests they get fake married to solve both of their problems.

Now Pandora has to convince her family they are dating and keep Victor from finding out she and her entire family are vampires. I thought this book was funny. I enjoyed the family dynamics and I was engaged in the story the whole time. I would definitely recommend this book for paranormal romance fans!

i can’t even lie the premise of the book did interest me but what sold me was the fact that pandora looks like megan fox in jennifer’s body lol… but anyways! pandoras mom was annoying asf by making her bring elias everywhere but it brought good banter between him and lucy so i can’t even be completely mad! (if they had a spinoff i would definitely read it)! i loved ravenna, she put so much effort into making both victor and pandora comfortable it was so heartwarming!! and although bellatrix annoyed me, the comments made about her singing made me laugh every single time (my favorite one was when pandy’s cousins thought someone was being sacrificed). it truly made me want to be there in the moment so i could fully be immersed and understand how the people in that house were suffering LOL!

3.75⭐️ This was a really cute read! Was it fluffy and not much to it? Sure but I rounded up for the vibes alone. It was the perfect book to get someone out of a reading slump or if they just want to have some great banter, laughs and a little spice.

I really hope this is going to be a series as there is so much to work with in the future. I intend to listen to this on audio when it comes out as I think it’ll make for a great experience. Ironically if this book was written by an American author I would have thought a bit into potential subtext and real life parallels but the overtly British prose allowed me not to go down that rabbit hole. But I did notice that the author took great care with her wording and avoided being ableist which I very much appreciated

The thing that lowered my actual rating was the plot construction and world building. There was a lot unsaid that the reader had to guess at as well as some strange time jumping. But being an ARC it may have been edited a few times before publication.

So many times Vampire books are appropriate for spooky season reading but this one is good for year round fun. It comes out August 15th making it a perfect end of summer read. So put this on your TBR!

I am thankful to have gotten a complimentary eARC from Avon through NetGalley to read which gave me the opportunity to voluntarily leave a review.

My general rating system is below. Since I primarily read ARC books I rate according to how I think like minded readers will receive the book. I will round up or down depending on many factors and try not to let my personal wants affect a books ratings.

⭐️ Hated It but pushed through as so don’t DNF ARCs I have received.
⭐️⭐️ Had a lot of trouble, prose issues, content issues, poorly edited.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Meh, it was an ok read but it had something that stopped me from rounding up. Usually the book may have much more potential than what was given. I recommend it but with reservations.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I Really enjoyed it or think others will. These are solid reads that I definitely would recommend for a variety of reasons.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding! These are books that remain rent free in my head for well after unfinished the book. It can be for a variety of reasons from being very well written or just the vibes that captured my mind. These books are also ones I would probably read again.

This was such a fun, fast-paced paranormal romance. Pandora is a vampire, and she has to get married by the end of the year to inherit her ancient family fortune, but being single and working a dead end job is a bit of a problem. Then she meets her crush, Victor (not a vampire) who is in debt and she forms a plan. Get married, pay off the debt with the inheritance and then divorce. But can things really be that simple?

Jessica Gadziala’s writing is addictive. Equal parts witty, gritty, and just the right amount of steamy. The world-building is light but immersive, and the characters are easy to root for. If you’re looking for something quick, clever, and a little bloody (in the best way), this is great.

Tropes: Fake Marriage, Found Family, Grumpy/Sunshine Spice Level: 3.5/5
Vibe: Sharp banter, tension, lighthearted chaos

This was a lighthearted read that delivered on the synopsis. It focuses on a female vampire and the marriage of convenience to her coffee shop customer who is a PhD student. Family shenanigans, meddling relatives, vampire traditions, and secrets surround the couple. Added in are a few familiars, lots of pets, along with a werewolf bestie. There are a few open door scenes to up the spice factor.

Thank you Avon Books UK for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley.

This was a fun, chaotic ride with the right mix of sass, heat, and paranormal drama.

Fake dating/marriage where he's unaware she's a vampire provided the perfect amount of lighthearted romcom vibes. Add in her over the top, meddlesome supernatural family and it's a recipe for wacky shenanigans.

Read this for an entertaining, cozy and sweet time.

This was such a surprisingly cute read! I went in with no expectations and ended up loving it. I absolutely loved the dynamic between Victor and Pandora (their chemistry was super sweet), and Lucy and Elias’s banter was another highlight for me. I found myself smiling constantly, especially whenever Pandora’s family was there (their scenes added so much personality to the story), and also when the book leaned into traditional vampire lore. The garlic allergy, the whole sunburn situation... Some of the aunt’s comments (forgot her name, sorry!) had me literally laughing out loud.

The perfect fall read. Funny, sweet, and slow burn romance. Vlad the talking Raven was so fun. The eccentric, extended vampire family felt like a real problem for a modern day vampire. There was a modern gothic to feel to it. And who doesn't love a romance between two bookworms reveling in their shared passion for reading.

A trope-y rom com with vampires! This is actually funny. Pandora must marry soon or she will lose her inheritance. Victor seems like good husband material except he doesn't know she's a vampire and can't find that out. There are hijinks to maintain the facade. This has a good cast beyond Pandora and Victor. Thanks to Netgalley for the arc. A good read.

I cannot resist a new paranormal romance with a witty title so I had to give this one a try! Pandora and Victor are a cute couple and I enjoyed their shared interest in reading. I was also giggling about Victor writing his thesis on vampire literature!

Pandora's family was funny and I definitely got Adams family but vampires vibes. It was entertaining to watch them try to act human and be bad at it. My only complaint about this story was Pandora's age. She was supposed to be over 100 years old but was still finding herself in a way that felt very young adult to me. She had only one close friend who was from her current job. I felt like the story would have been a lot more believable if she had just been in her early twenties.

If you like a fun vampire romcom with fake dating this one is for you!

Thanks to Avon for this e-arc! My Big Fat Vampire Wedding follows Pandora, who finds out that to get the inheritance she is eventually due from her family, she needs to be married. Her loophole - fake marrying the human cutie regular at the coffeeshop she works at with her werewolf best friend. Say less- there are plenty of paranormal antics, silliness as she tries to hide that she and her family are vampires from Victor and hide that her relationship is fake from her prying family. The story was a good time and I thought Victor and Pandora had fun chemistry! Definitely perfect for your fall TBR!

This was a pretty solid book that just didn't quite work out perfectly for my tastes. Based purely on the title - if you liked all the family antics in My Big Fat Greek Wedding - you will like this book. Unfortunately, I wanted less family and more of our main couple in the book. I get that the whole point of the read is that she a vampire, her whole family are vampires, and he's a human but every time their personal time would get interrupted by someone, I would get frustrated. Now, that's not to say the family parts were bad or boring - actually I found them to be quite funny and entertaining, but I just thought the balance of the book was leaning a bit too much toward the family antics side. I thought the chemistry between our two MCs was really great and I loved how their fake dating/marriage of convenience progressed to a real relationship. The spicy scenes were fantastic and really ramped up the romantic tension. As of now, I can't find any mention of a book 2 in the series, but there were two characters who were certainly set up for one that I would absolutely love to read so I hope we get that book in the future. Overall, this was still a good read, just wish there was a bit less family and a bit more of the main couple.

My Big Fat Vampire Wedding tickles the funny bone and the imagination in this quirky and unique twist on vampires and the fake dating trope!

Normally, I steer clear of the fake dating/fiancé stuff because it starts the relationship off on a lie and peeves me off, but something about the blurb snagged my attention and I had to find out more.

I couldn’t really find the words to eloquently describe my feelings so I just went with bullet points of all the reasons why I loved the book (and why you should read it)!

🦇Funny and heartfelt
🦇Loads of laughs
🦇Big, boisterous family
🦇Wonderfully crafted characters
🦇Meddling relatives
🦇Talking raven
🦇Vampires
🦇Loads of otherworldly creatures
🦇Quirky, fun-loving
🦇Heartwarming
🦇Slow burn
🦇Bucking traditions
🦇Challenging the status quo
🦇Forging your own path
🦇Being true to yourself

I absolutely loved this book and I hope the author has more stories planned in this enchanting paranormal universe.

"My Big Fat Vampire Wedding" by Jessica Gadziala is a hilarious and light-hearted read that puts a unique spin on the fake-dating trope. The premise is instantly charming: a broke PhD student and a vampire who needs to get married to inherit her fortune decide to tie the knot. What starts as a simple, transactional arrangement quickly spirals into a chaotic and laugh-out-loud wedding extravaganza thanks to Pandora's overly-involved family. The humor is spot-on and makes for a fun, low-stakes escape.

While the main couple, Pandora and Victor, are a delight, I found myself even more invested in the enemies-to-lovers subplot between Lucy and Elias. Their banter and simmering tension were captivating, and a part of me thinks I will be more into their dynamic if a second book is released. I also felt the development of Pandora and Victor's relationship could have been more fleshed out. The trip to Morocco, for example, felt like a missed opportunity for them to truly connect away from the wedding chaos. Additionally, I would have loved to experience the story from a first-person perspective to feel a stronger connection with the main character.

Ultimately, the focus on the family's over-the-top wedding plans, while humorous, sometimes overshadowed the main romance. I would have preferred more moments dedicated to Pandora and Victor's private interactions and a deeper exploration of their growing feelings. Despite these minor quibbles, the book is an enjoyable and funny read that delivers on its charming premise.

oh, all the weird, wonderful, and outrageously dysfunctional. How I loved you.

Pandora is a sweet in with the times Vampire just trying to live her life when she's forced to settle quickly to inherit her fortune. Poor gal. But also... nothing would have had her moving onto cutie Victor than this marriage of convenience.
she's sweet, bookish and most definitely under sells herself. Apart from the pointy teefs our girl is very relatable. A big dreamer a little stuck. A overwhelming family with all the crazy and huge expectations for her sweet soul.

Victor our sweet bookish hero. All the smarts. Almost to polite but also I so loved that because he was just DREAMY. kind and compassionate even when he had no clue what was happening around him. also... a little freaky in the sheets?.. absolutely.

LUCY AND ELIAS!. I NEED WANT MORE. The wolf and the Vampire?.. basically fought like cat and dog with all the tension and chemistry. so delectable I cannot even.

anywhoo... back to Pandora and Victor. I truly loved them. whilst the Vampire aspect was cool and im super interested in this world and the revolving door of vampires in Pandoras family....
Pandy and Victor felt like an old school romance from the ages. The sweet chivalrous kind. It was just swoony.

Jessie always kills it. Great characters, an interesting world and a fabulous ending. the only thing left to say is when am I getting L+ E's book?! that's about to be a doozy I know for sure.

A Fang-tastically Fun Romp!

My Big Fat Vampire Wedding by Jessica Gadziala is a playful, cozy paranormal romance that delivers exactly what its premise promises: fake relationship shenanigans, marriage of convenience drama, and a coffee-shop crush that turns into so much more.

Pandora is such a relatable heroine—juggling family expectations, a less-than-thrilling job, and the looming deadline of her vampire inheritance. Victor, the sweet, debt-burdened PhD student, makes for the perfect reluctant partner-in-crime. Their dynamic is fun, and the slow shift from fake to real feelings brings just the right spark.

The setting is charming, the banter is light, and there’s a dash of spice that keeps things interesting. While the pacing dragged in places and I wished for a bit more depth in certain parts of the romance, overall it was a cozy, quirky read that had me smiling.

If you like your paranormal romances with a mix of humor, heart, and coffee-fueled vampire hijinks, this is a fun one to sink your teeth into!

A vampire who must have a husband in order to receive her family’s fortune decides to propose an arrangement with her crush. Except, she hadn’t taken in account that he’s an expert on all things Vampirism since it’s related to his phd. Can she manage to keep her huuuuuge Vampire family from accidentally exposing their true lives to him?

This was a super duper cute read, perfect for autumn time!! I immediately loved the world building and was hooked within the first page! Pandora was just the cutest fmc ever, being basically the antithesis of what a vampire is by wearing cute Halloween themed pajamas, having stuffed animals that soothe her, refusing to drink human blood and sleep in a coffin.

The side characters and setting were so adorable and written so well. You could really tell that her family was so overbearing and lovable and genuinely cared for Pandora. Lucy and Elias cracked me up, I loved their enemies (to maybe lovers👀) vibe and it was so sweet seeing them support Pandora and Victor.

Also I just wanna point out that I was genuinely so entertained by the fact that every time Lucy killed a plant she brought it to Pandora (the undead vampire) to revive it. It was so ironic and a perfect edition to how Pandora is.

5 stars on vibes alone. It’s a cute, quick, fun, Halloween read that will have you grinning like an idiot🧛🏼‍♀️🎃🧛🏼‍♂️🩸

What an amazing way to welcome my absolute favorite season... Spooky Season!

Vampire fmc, Pandora, must marry to secure her inheritance. Enter Victor, the adorable caramel macchiato-loving human, who agrees to be her fake husband. However, he must remain oblivious to her vampire identity, despite her wild, eccentric, and incredibly large vampire family that is full of all kinds of antics and a sassy talking raven! Not to mention her werewolf bestie, Lucy ...

This book is an adorable and entertaining paranormal romantic comedy. It offers an enjoyable and lighthearted reading experience filled with laughter and heartwarming moments. Overall, it's a fantastic escape!

If you’re in the mood for a rom-com with bite 🧛‍♀️, this book is a total treat. Jessica Gadziala delivers a paranormal romance that balances humor 🤣, heart ❤️, and just the right amount of spice 🔥.

Pandora, our sassy vampire heroine, is stuck in a family mess that requires her to get married—fast. Enter Victor, the sweet but slightly clueless human grad student 📚, who suddenly finds himself in a fake marriage situation 💍. Their chemistry is instant ⚡, their banter is sharp, and their awkward (yet steamy) moments had me both laughing and swooning.

What makes this book shine is the mix of family chaos 👩‍👩‍👧‍👦, quirky supernatural antics 🦇, and a romance that feels both playful and genuine 💕. Gadziala keeps the pace snappy, the dialogue witty, and the world delightfully gothic with a cozy twist 🕯️.

Is it over-the-top? Yes.
Is it hilarious and heartwarming? Absolutely.
Did I want more by the end? 100%!

I liked the first half this book better than the second half. It's got one of my least favorite plot lines (3rd act breakup) and then ending felt a little too rushed. Pandora's family put on quite the show while pretending to be human (or just clearly forgetting to not act like a vampire) and I like how the members of her family interacted with Victor. I'm hoping we get an enemies to lovers romance next based on a couple of the side characters in this book!

Well this story was a good time!

Pandora is a vampire who still lives at home with her parents and works with her best friend in a coffee shop, she's due to inherit her family fortune but to do so she has to be married and the main problem she has is that she is still single. So she and her friend Lucy come up with a plan to get her engaged, doesn't matter to who she just has to be married.. That's when Victor enters the chat (Pandoras crush. or caramel macchiato cutie as they call him) . He and Pandora get chatting and Pandora asks him to fake marry her.

I adored this story and laughed out loud at so many parts. Pandoras family are hilarious and really enjoyed any chapter they were in, I really hope other characters will get their own stories in the future?

Highly recommend!!

This was everything I wanted and needed as we transition into Autumn! Wonderfully funny, heartfelt, and warm (and yes, a little spicy too!)
Despite being a vampire, Pandora is delightfully relatable and Victor is the definition of written by a woman! All our side characters were so strong, funny and individual.
The blend of modern day life and comedy mixed with some classic vampire lore (coffins, yes!) was perfectly executed. I'll definitely return to this one ❤️

My first autumn read of the year and it did not disappoint. My big Fat Vampire Wedding was a fun, cute and light romance read. I read it in one sitting and laughed the whole way through.

I loved the concept of the book - fake wedding and vampires - I thought it was such a fun read. I loved both the main characters, Pandora and Victor, they were both so sweet. I also loved Pandoras big family, as someone who has a big family I found it so relatable and enjoyable to read.

This book had tropes I enjoy and lets just say the slow burn was slow burning. I haven’t read many paranormal romances but now I am definitely going to read more.

My Big Fat Vampire wedding is a cute, fun, well written, light hearted book that is a perfect read for this time of year. This is my first book by this author and it wont be the last. I cant wait to read more of this authors work.

Quick Summary: A spooky-licious, vampire rom-com with heart

My Review: My Big Fat Vampire Wedding by Jessica Gadziala is a 2025 paranormal romance. It was released TODAY (8/14/25).

About the Book: "Fake wedding + vampires = happily ever after?"

In My Own Words: What do you get when you put a female vampire of a considerable age with a human male scholar and a number of quirky well meaning supernatural relatives? You get a rip roaring good time.

My Final Say: This novel was everything I love about para-romances! Not only did it give off twisty family hijinks vibes, but it also had a crazy great fake it-make it heat between the leads. The story, the characters, the feelings, and all the flavor that went along with this one worked.

Can I just say that I cannot wait until this story comes out as an audiobook? I want it!!!

Now, I'm wondering if more will come from this. Let's go!

Other: Readers who enjoy crazy, sexy, cool reads will love this novel.

“As much as I hate to agree with anything that Nosferadouche has to say, he probably has a point with that.”

4.5⭐️ rating

Overall I really enjoyed this, I enjoyed Victor and Pandora as characters and really liked that they both loved books. I would love to have seen more of Elias and Lucy together too, as they’re both really fun characters. I would have also liked to see a bit more of Sebastian as a fleshed out character rather than just Victor’s only friend that we don’t see very much. Other than Sebastian though, a lot of side characters are more fleshed out. I thought Pandora’s family were brilliant (and the pets!!)
The pacing at the beginning was very slow (first 10-15%), this made the book a little bit difficult to get into but once I was past that point I had a good time. The pacing after the wedding was a bit quick, and I think I would’ve maybe liked to see Victor’s perspective/thoughts in that time period. But yeah, overall I had a nice time and I think if you like this genre you’ll probably have a fun time reading this book✨

My Big Fat Vampire Wedding by Jessica Gadziala is a fun cozy paranormal romance.
This book was an a amazing paranormal rom-com. Gadziala delivered on every aspect of this book, with its lighthearted and humorous characters.
This was such a fun, fast-paced paranormal romance.P
Jessica Gadziala’s writing is addictive. Equal parts witty, gritty, and just the right amount of humor.
The world-building is light but immersive, and the characters are easy to root for.

I can’t wait to read whatever she creates next!

🤔 My Thoughts: This was a cute and spicy romance with a fake marriage. I rooted for Pandora and Victor who both were shy, a little lonely, but loved romance books. Ravenna was the scene stealer with her hilarious takes and Reginald with his stories of the past. I loved the epilogue with how Victor and Pandora made their dreams come true.

Thank you so much to NetGalley, Avon Books and Jessica Gadziala for this eARC in exchange for an honest review!

This was such great fun to read! The relationships between the characters and the setting were absolutely spot-on. The gloominess of a London coffee shop and an invitation to a human that regularly visits to drink caramel macchiato’s led to the most interesting set up.

This book definitely gave Addams family vibes - except Pandora as the Wednesday character was a lot more full of life and sunshine! Her family is huge and they all have their own eccentricities. I particularly love her aunts and immortal raven!

The plot was really well paced and was intriguing throughout. There was plenty of spice and swoon worthy romantic moments from Victor. I have to say that a standout character for me was Lucy - she was absolutely hilarious.

I really enjoyed the way that the ending panned out too. It made a lot of sense to go in this direction.

The only thing I will say is given that this book is absolutely fantastic, I don’t feel that the title of it reflects the story accurately. I understand that this was (probably) a play on the words of film, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, but there weren’t enough connections for me to feel that this was a title that shows how great the contents of book was and the plot itself.

It’s been so much fun reading about these two!

A vampire and a human oh my, my, my, how adorable this book was!

Pandora is working a dead end job as a barista at the coffee shop but has dreams of opening her own book store when her inheritance hits BUT Pandora soon gets the news that she won’t get her inheritance without first being married

Victor is currently is PHD student that loves to occupy the coffee shop for his regular drink. Finding out how much debt he’s in and realising he won’t be able to cover another semester he heads to the coffee shop in hopes to speak to the woman who caught his eye for one final time.

When a conversation is struck up between the two they both soon realise they can help each other out and so they strike up a deal, a fake dating soon to be engaged and married deal.

A vampire hiding her secret, a human surrounded by non humans, what could possibly go wrong?

These two have been such a joy to read about. Her family (minus a couple) had me laughing away at their antics and her best friend was a hoot, I loved how much she loved and cared about Pandora even though it goes against the norm for their kinds.

This read was quite refreshing from my usual genre but it’s just left me wanting to read some more paranormal rom coms. I think it might become one of my favorites.

This was my first read from this author and I can guarantee it won’t be my last. The writing was easily read and the storyline was fun to follow. I sure do hope there will be more from this series at some point

My Big Fat Vampire Wedding 🥀🦇💍
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I may have just found one of my new favourite paranormal rom-coms!

This book had everything I needed for a cosy, addictive read - fake dating/marriage, vampires, wacky humor and the perfect sprinkle of spice, which I actually wasn’t expecting. It was so easy to devour across just a few days and with so many of my standout tropes, I couldn’t put it down

It gave me the same feeling as when I first read ‘Bride’ and if you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know how obsessed I was with that release. With ‘Mate’ coming out in a little over a month, it’s safe to say my anticipation for that release may have now doubled

When it came to the wedding prep, I loved the dynamic between Pandoras Vampire Family and Victors Human Relative, who were giving off serious Adams Family vibes in the best way - the secrets and ‘hidden closest’ scene added multiple layers of tension!

We definitely need a sequel following Lucy and her obvious love interest, so I’ll definitely be keeping a look out for any possible updates

My Big Fat Vampire Wedding is a supernatural romance based on the pretend marriage trope. It follows Pandora, a 'modern' vampire who doesn't drink from humans and works at an all night coffee shop. Her parents won't release her 125th birthday money unless she gets married. Cue Victor, the PhD student Pandora has a huge crush on, and an elaborate fake marriage scheme where naturally, the two fall head over heels.

My favourite part of this novel is the vampire family and Gadziala has had a lot of fun with them! They are eccentric and varied, more over the top than most writers could get away with and yet despite the caricature, it's weirdly believable (in as much as a vampire novel can be). We all have that uncle who dresses oddly and an aunt with too many pets, right? I love that even the dogs and the birds have their own personalities which shine through and really make the book stand out.

The will they/won't they between Pandora and Victor does get frustrating at times. Despite being 124, Pandora acts exactly like a teenage girl in her first relationship. I appreciate that the author wants her to remain relatable to teenagers but she could use some backstory. Why has she been single so long? With Hotel Transylvania, for example, they make a clear reason for Mabel's dad to baby her. My Big Fat Vampire Wedding doesn't offer any kind of explanation.

Outside of that, the pacing is spot on. The descriptions are fabulous and the relationships feel genuine. I would have appreciated more depth to the antagonist of the piece, Pandora's cousin. She currently does everything to split up the happy couple seemingly because she's a natural villain with no redeeming qualities. It's written as a long standing feud but I would have appreciated some personality outside of 'awful singer'. Considering the absurd nature of many elements already, a light-hearted comedic reason would have worked fine - think Debbie in the Addams Family Values, "all I ever wanted was a Ballerina Barbie".

Things end well and the humour throughout makes it a fun, light-hearted romance which is perfect for a summer holiday release. Overall, I really enjoyed this and can't wait for more from Jessica Gadziala!

This is a light, quick paranormal romcom about a human hero and a vampire heroine. They enter into a marriage of convenience, and the bride’s vampire relatives cause plenty of chaos—especially since the groom has no idea she’s not human.
I liked that the vampire role went to the female lead—there just aren’t enough stories with women as the vampires. The story is told only from her perspective, and while I found her likable, I didn’t really get a strong sense of the male lead by the end. Still, I think most people picking up this book will be here for the vampire fun more than the hero. Their relationship was cute, and while the breakup toward the end was pretty easy to see coming, it worked fine for the story.
The writing was okay, though I did notice “OK” popping up in the dialogue a lot, which got a little distracting. Scene changes sometimes felt abrupt, making me wonder if I had missed a page. There are also quite a few nods to the bookish community, which shows the author is clearly a reader too.
It’s not reinventing the vampire romance genre, but it’s a light, enjoyable read. It looks like the next book might follow the heroine’s best friend—a werewolf—and another vampire, and I’d be happy to check that one out too.
Thanks to Avon Books for the ARC!

Oh my goodness what an adorable book. I entirely loved the concept of fake marriage with a vampire. Normally, the man is the vampire, so it was nice that the women was this time. The characters were entirely lovable and quirky.

The book really focused on respecting family traditions while also paving your own way. Inclusion was a huge part of the story with the characters navigating and fighting species prejudices.

The romance of course starts with a fake marriage, but you definitely feel the realness from the beginning. This truly was a book to sink your teeth into!

This book was an absolutely fabulous paranormal rom-com, delivering on every aspect I look for in this type of book, with its lighthearted and humorous nature while still allowing depth it tells the story of a spooky vampire x human romance where the main characters enter into a fake engagement that begins to feel less fake as time goes on. Honestly, you’ll find everything in this book from a hilarious vampire family that can't keep their notse out of eachothers business, a werewolf bestie, a human love interest, a vampire rival love interest and an introverted vampire FMC who is very much single and trying to get her freedom from her vey traditionalist family.

Pandora has real problems, finding out that in order to get her inheritance she must get married before her birthday in three months time, the catch being is that indeed Pandora is hopelessly single. Working with her brother and her werewolf work bestie Pandora comes up with a plan to find someone to enter a fake marriage agreement with her in order to reach an end goal that with benefit them both. Little does she know that this someone will end up being her crush, Victor, a PhD student with huge student debt. The plan seems perfect, provided Victor doesn’t end up finding out that she is indeed a vampire. Their road to the alter was never going to be a straightforward one though with her meddling vampire family and a huge secret lingering over them. Will they make it down the aisle and with their vows be as fake as they are meant to be after all?

I loved Pandora from the very beginning, you can tell she just wants to be free to do what she wants without being hounded by her family, working at the local coffee shop while keeping her dreams alive and admiring her crush, caramel macchiato cutie. I love that she is a massive fan of bodice ripper romances and prefers cozy clothes to dressing up, she really is representing all of the introverts and I am a huge fan of this. She finds someone that accepts her in Victor and I love that so much even if he doesn’t realise she is a vampire, a romance that seems so impossible with them living in what feels like worlds apart. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Pandora come out of her shell, and learning about her family and seeing the unique relationship she has with each of its different members. Victor is so adorable and awkward, he initially feels very closed off but at the same time he is so accepting of the nuances that her family presents. Despite the awkward communication between these two they slow burn is delicious and as they grow to know each other more and more the witty banter and comforting feeling between the two of them begins to show. Their love story was exactly what I was looking for in this book, and I wouldn't have it occurred any other way.

The story itself was perfect for a rom-com, it was slightly predictable but I personally really enjoy that about these types of books, I know what I am in for and that is part of the allure. I thoroughly enjoyed reading as Pandora and Victor slowly fall into one another despite trying to keep their distance while faking it until they make it. This book felt to me like a blend of a classic vampire romance and the Addams family, if they were all vampires and Wednesday wanted to be more normal and aligned with modern times. I found myself laughing out loud to this book while also crying at points so it was an emotional roller coaster as well as being a good time where you are just along for the ride. Highly recommend this lighthearted paranormal romance for anyone looking for a more refreshing read in between bigger books.
