**Note: This is not a novel. It is the first 4 episodes of a 20-episode serial. Season One (20 episodes) is complete, and Season Two (20 new episodes) releases 2015.**
A small town full of secrets. A coming darkness. Teenagers with supernatural abilities. Think you know the story?
Think again.
As Summer ends, the students at Silverwood High are getting ready to
go back to school and resume their normal, everyday lives. Too bad
"normal" is no longer an option.
When these teens get their very first tastes of what destiny has in
store, will they embrace that destiny... or flee from it? Will they be
selfless... or ruthless? Will they master their abilities... or will
their abilities master them?
This is their awakening, the first step of an epic journey. But it's
only the beginning of something bigger than they could ever imagine.
Four teenagers. One town.
Four authors. One story.
The sleepy little town of Silverwood is about to wake up.

I'm intrigued. So much so that I'm off to see if there's an omnibus or something. This is like the ultimate teaser!

I usually don't read serials very often. If I do, I wait for all of the episodes to be released and ideally also be united in one book. But this sounded very intriguing and I thought I'd try it out.
And I wasn't disappointed. The Naturals, or at least the first few episodes, were fantastic. It was basically only the introduction of the four main characters, but I loved it. I think it's absolutely necessary to read on very soon because otherwise I'd forget all the different names and characters. I'm not sure whether a multiple POV project like this if fit for being made into a serial. There are just so many things to remember when there are a lot of main characters. I hope they'll meet each other soon and then their plotlines can cross or be joined.
The first two stories were quite short and I didn't get a very deep, first impression of Avery and Matthias.
But I did like Hailey and Israel a lot already. I can't make any sense yet of the supernatural elements as that is simply too early on in the story to be judged.
The Naturals, Episodes 1-4, seems like a great start into an interesting series. I think the idea of having a different writer do each perspective is perfect for this! Thus, every voice can be unique!

This was my first time reading a serial and I was disappointed; disappointed that it ended! I really want to get to the next set of episodes as it was surprisingly well written and even across the board considering it was more than one author under a single plot setting, so-to-speak. Though each chapter had its own protagonist, and in turn each character had their own voice, the writing as a whole felt like it all came from one, singular author, instead of four!
Aside from that I liked the humor and even the bit of mystery that has started to build up so far! Now, I just need to get my hands on the next set of episodes!!

I really liked how the story begins. Even though there are four different writers, one for each main character, it still flowed relatively well. Looking forward to the next installment to see what happens next.
