Description

This is a journey into time…

We’re all fascinated by time, yet we don’t really understand it. What is it? How does it work? Does it even exist?

In this ground-breaking book, computer scientist, classical pianist and time-obsessive Rob Podolski (PhD) embarks on a voyage of discovery into this most enigmatic of natural phenomena. From the vastness of the universe to the bizarre miniature world of quantum mechanics and the mind-bending complexity of the human brain, he takes us on an extraordinary trip through time. On the way we meet philosophers and cosmologists, encounter aliens, Dutch Masters and mind-altering drugs, and visit a land where there’s no time at all.

Unlike narrowly focused academic studies, Time: A Wayfarer’s Guide draws on the huge range of ideas, theories and research about time in fields as diverse as philosophy, physics and neuropsychology. The result is a comprehensive, accessible and entertaining exploration of what time might be, and how we might experience it.
