Cool book this one is not the usual “Rock Star” book that is so popular now. This one shows the before they become famous and just starting discovered. It also is about learning to communicate and how to deal with life when it knocks you down or at least how not to behave. The writing is pretty good for a first book and I look forward to reading the other guys in the bands’ stories.

A very fun, light-hearted and interesting read. Johnny was without a doubt my favourite character :) Enjoy

When I first started this book I wasn't too sure. Some books on this theme I have really enjoyed (Nalini Singh) and others not so much. This book is about the band before they really hit the big time and that I do like, it shows the long and hard work that you have to put in to be an "overnight success" I liked the character of Jed, yet I did find him a little weak.. There was never going to be a good time to confess, but pretending its not there solves nothing. I was also very uncomfortable with what happened to Lille with the manager. If you are blackout drunk then you can not consent to sex. Everyone seemed to be more concerned that she may have cheated, while I felt that non consensual sex is more about assault that cheating, but perhaps that is just my hangup. I did enjoy how they reunited and I will certainly be reading Johnny's book. Overall a well written and enjoyable book.

You probably can't tell from the blog - but it has been almost a month since I read a book for review. (Gotta love wordpress allowing me to schedule posts in advance!) It wasn't a tough choice to decide what to read next since this one had to be posted before any of the rest based on my schedule - but I'm glad that it ended up being the next on my list. My reading break was part due to being too busy to find time to read and part due to the fact that a lot of the books I was reading just weren't doing anything for me lately.
How to Catch a (Rock) Star is about Lillie who is an aspiring singer living in the UK. She meets Jed, an American rock star and they hit it off. Of course, how much time they can see each other is a bit limited with Jed being on tour. Jed decides he has the perfect idea and has Lillie basically join his band to sing with him on tour. Everything seems to be going great for the two of them - but can it last? Well, of course there probably wouldn't be a book if everything was all happy all the time and they ended up happily ever after, right?
Turns out Jed is keeping a secret from Lillie - one that she isn't sure she can handle after being in a similar situation with an ex. But Lillie's dreams are coming true - so what can she do to make sure that she can continue living her dreams - with or without Jed?
I liked this book a lot - it was very well written and I enjoyed all of the characters. (And it turns out there will be a second book following another one of the band members so I will have to keep an eye out for that one too!) It is a romance book but didn't have a lot of the sex scenes you might be expecting (which was a bit of a con, but at the same time also a pro.) I think that rockstar romances are my new favorite sub-genre and if Gabrielle Aquilina keeps it up with this series I will not be disappointed!
I received a free e-copy of this book from NetGalley in order to write this review. I was not otherwise compensated.

I was given this as an ARC which was provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This is the first time that I have read anything by author Gabrielle Aquilina and will definitely not be my last.
I had no problem giving this book 5 stars because it had me from the start and gave me everything I look for in a Rock Romance; hot rocker guy, lots of sizzling sex, secrets, and life on the road as an up and coming rock band. Lillie had been burned once by a guy who failed to mention that he not only had a wife but a child as well. Who could blame her that she was very skeptical of another guy especially one who lived life on the road as part of a rock band. With Jed being the lead singer for The Dead Hour, who had everything going for him including looks, talent and the luck to run into Lillie, life couldn’t get much better.
Jed convinced Lillie to go on the road with him and things just got better from there. They couldn’t keep their hands off from each other and both figured that they may have found their one and only. Between Jed and Johnny, who was Jed’s friend and bandmate, they helped Lillie overcome her stage fright and she became a member of the band as well. Of course things can’t be that perfect. Lillie had a feeling that Jed was keeping something from her and when she learned the secret that everyone around her was keeping, things spiraled out of control.
For anyone who likes Rock Romance books this is a book that I would pick up in a heartbeat. It was well written and moved along very quickly. This is the kind of book that you stay up until 2 a.m. reading because you just have to see what is going to happen. I hope that Ms. Aquilina plans to write more on The Dead Hour guys.

Lillie is 24, loved to sing, but had crippling stage fright. Lillie and her best friend Katie went to a bar to hear some bands perform. Jed had been the first guy Lillie had been attracted to in almost a year. Lillie had dated her ex for years, hadn't had a clue he was married until his wife showed up at her house with his baby. Jed also hadn't been attracted to anybody in a long time until Lillie. Jed's band had just signed with Island Records. They had been together for 7 years while trying to get signed. Johnny is the band's manager. Jed had known him forever. Their mom's had been since before they had been born. Katie got Lillie to sign in front of Jed and Johnnie. Since she quit her job, Jed wanted her to go on tour with them. Katie went too.
Lillie was a sweet girl. She had been hurt and it showed, but she grew to love again. She was honest, had a big heart and was loyal. She was artistic and had pushed that part away from herself. Through the twists and turns of this story she grew. Jed was not your typical rock star. He was not a partier, didn't sleep around, but he had secrets. It was great to see him find love again, only this time it was real.
This was an amazing book, an amazing story, I would highly recommend it.

Received a copy of this story in exchange for a honest review. This is a charming, sexy erotic story that takes you behind the scenes of a rock and roll band, with lots of twists and turns and plenty of drama. This story captured my attention from the beginning with great colorful characters who had easy fun and playful demeanor with one another as well as hot bad boy rocker attitude. Lillie and her best friend Kate are out on the town at the Cavern when a sexy American voice whispers in her ear, Lillie doesn't know who he is but she has caught the attention of the sizzling, hot lead singer of The Dead Hour Jed Jerome. Lillie has been recovering for the last year from a terrible betrayal from her last boyfriend "Married Matt" who had dated her for two years until his wife showed up on her doorstep with their child. Lillie doesn't know if she can trust, men again and hasn't dated since that terrible day. This chance encounter turns into a hot romance when Lillie decides to give Jed a chance at Kate's urging. At first Lillie decides that this will be just a fling the sizzling chemistry and flirty banter between these two is scorching hot and fun. But even though Jed and the band is on the road touring he continues to call and talk to her everyday and their feelings start to grow. After a bad day at her dead end, thankless job she quits and with nothing holding her back her and Kate meet up and start touring with the band. After listening to one of the band members butcher a song Lillie make a comment about it and they find out that Lillie has a beautiful voice and they all want her to join them on tour and on stage. But Lillie must overcome her stage fright first, so with help from the others she makes her debut and wows the crowd. Jed convinces the label to keep Lillie on tour which gives Jed and Lillie more time to give their sizzling chemistry and relationship time to grow and see where it may go. At times Lillie worries that Jed is keeping things from her, and the self doubt is not only a hindrance in their relationship but on stage as well. But is Jed keeping secrets from Lillie? Will their love for one another get them their HEA? In the world of Rock and Roll with one night stands, viral u-tube, jealous fans and stalker paparazzi photos can love stand a chance? You are just going to have to read this story to find out. If you love Rocker romance you will want to snatch this one up because it is Sizzling Hot. Couldn't stop reading after I started and neither will you.

Lillie’s dream was always to be a singer growing up. Her mother always shot down her dream after her failure to succeed, so made Lillie think she wouldn’t make it either. Also Lillie’s serious case of stage fright didn’t help either.
Jed is the lead singer of rock band ‘The Dead Hour’. They are an American band, currently touring in the UK.
Lillie hasn’t dated in almost a year, after her last disastrous relationship with ‘married Matt’. So when out on the town with her best friend, Kate, the lead singer (Jed) of the band she was just checking out, comes and whispers in her ear, Lillie is reluctant to let him persue her. Lillie decides a hot fling could be just what she needs to get over her past heartbreak, so she agrees to go on a date with Jed. A date that leads to a very enjoyable night of passion.
When Jed has to move on with the band to their next tour destination, he and Lillie stay in contact. After an extremely hard day at her thankless office job, Lillie decides to quit. She and Kate go and meet the band at their next tour stop. Banter over band member, Johnny butchering a song leads Jed and his band to discover that Lillie has an amazing voice. The next thing she knows, she is on their tour bus, learning their songs to sing with them at their concerts. ( If she can get past that stage fright! )
Things move pretty fast for Jed and Lillie together. They are in intense, all consuming love with each other. Lillie soon starts to feel Jed is holding something back. Reluctance to talk about some things, getting snappy if she tries to push the subject. Strange phone calls. Painting over a memory wall in his childhood bedroom, not wanting her to see whats written on it. Jed tries to play it off. Is Lillie right or is it her insecurities after her relationship with ‘married Matt’? Are Jed and Lillie destined for a happily ever after? If you love rockstar romance, grab this sizzling book!
Gabrielle gave us the perfect amount of groupies, drugs, drinking and living on the road for a rockstar romance. There were plenty of sex scenes, which yes, in places, could of been a little more…….longer and detailed, but this didn’t stop me enjoying the book.
How To Catch A (Rock) Star was a fun read. It’s detailed and filled with secrets, drama, angst, heartbreak and love. It’s a dual point of view book, which I personally love, getting to know the thoughts and feelings from both sides.
