A Note From the Publisher

Adelina lives in the UK with her family after years of living and working abroad. Her love for travel and writing started whilst backpacking around South America in her twenties, when blogging was just taking off. the cover of this book immediately bought me to it and even then i hadn't looked into it properly. as i looked on ,just like this story, the full cover and ingredients of it revealed itself to me. and it truly took in my feelings surrounding the book and the story.
this book was so deep into human emotions and caught me by surprise with how much i ended up caring for all hose involved. and it lended me to many a time googling of the issues that presented itself throughout. Isabel was such a courageous young woman and watching her determination to find out what happened to her mother felt at times daunting but always filled with strength. her mother vanished during the dictatorship in Argentina. its something that never leaves either daughter or father. but her father is unsure of what happened. years later Isabel drops everything to pursue the answers. she quits her job in London and travels across to Buenos Aires to search for her mother. its there she meets with a detective to help her on her task. but its their shared connection which might bring more answers both in heart and future than Isabel though possible going in to this journey. they both have their demons, losses and weights on their shoulders. but there blooming feelings for each others is the balm that a thankless task and search needs. there is more to come for Isabel and some extremely hard things to face. can love give her the hand hold and heart hold she needs to face what is brought to her door.
this book is such a powerful and important book. the under layers i felt throughout, the things that weren't said but i felt. the things that were said and i felt. its a brilliant book with a compassionate telling.

A young woman searches for her mother who disappeared from Buenos Aries in the seventies. Not knowing if her mother left her or was one of the many disappeared of that time of political turmoil. This is a slow read but the characters well developed and memorable. The legal side of searches is explored in through the main characters who are lawyers. Argentina and England come to life as this quest continues. A little love story and big secrets make this a satisfying read.

Set over two timelines (although not that far apart) this book starts in Buenos Aires in 1976 with Isabel Hartley at 7 years old and waking to find her mother gone and her father has no idea where she has gone. Then we skip to 2001, London, where Isobel is no in her thirties and still wondering about her mothers disappearance. So she head to Buenos Aires to investigate further.

This story is not just about Isobel searching for the truth behind her mothers disappearance but is also about finding love, revealing secrets and looking to the future. It is an interesting read and a well written book. Emotional, gripping, heartfelt and the writing and the characters make it so real. I really enjoyed this book and the story of Isobel. A wonderful read.

Thank you NetGalley and Troubador for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
