Description
A brief introduction to our non-existence.
Hallucinations are usually defined as percepts not based on reality. But, of course, 'reality' is never defined in this context. It is merely assumed to consist of the 'objective' material world, dispersed within the time-space realm. This book's main thesis is that the time-space-matter package is not objective but a kind of hallucination itself. In particular, we (as embodied humans) are hallucinations; we hallucinate ourselves into existence. We support these claims through scientific results and by presenting anecdotal cases chosen from the vast library of recorded events, many of which contain veridical elements.
Hallucinate! is also a personal account of its author, who has experienced hundreds of events that could be interpreted as paranormal. Particularly numerous are his experiences concerning the action of consciousness over matter, as well as cases of visual hallucinations of the hypnogogic type. Concerning the latter, we present hundreds of 'hallucinated' scenes and describe the method used to induce them. Hallucinations, when responsibly induced, could be viewed as windows through which one can take a peek at the deeper reality outside the ordinary time-space-matter paradigm.
This book was motivated by events surrounding the loss of its author’s first daughter. The corresponding narrative constitutes the frame of the content of this book, given in Chapter 0 (Preludes) and Chapter 10 (Epilogue).
A Note From the Publisher
Advance Praise
Lots of people occasionally hear voices or experience visual hallucinations. When the voices or visions are insistent, uncontrolled, or frightening, the person is invariably diagnosed as schizophrenic. But what's going on when perfectly sane people have these experiences? Damian Timev’s Hallucinate is a fascinating and well written examination at these 'normal' hallucinations and what they might mean.
