Description

Once on the reject table, always on the reject table?

When Maggie Taylor, a cake decorator, and Chad Robertson, a lawyer from Nashville Tennessee, meet at a wedding in Cornwall it’s not under the best circumstances.

They have both been assigned to ‘the reject table’, alongside a toxic collection of grumpy great aunts, bitter divorcees and stuffy organists.

Maggie has grown used to being the reject, although when Chad helps her out of a wedding cake disaster she begins to wonder whether the future could hold more for her.

But will Chad be strong enough to deal with the other problems in Maggie’s life? Because a ruined cake isn’t the only issue she has – not by a long shot.

Maggie was at a wedding reception and at the reject table, met a handsome man named Chad Robertson. He was from Tennessee and he was an attorney. Maggie was a cake decorator and childhood friend of Fiona, the bride. Maggie and her sister Emily had formed Two Heart Catering two months before. Emily called Maggie away from Chad as the cake had been ruined. Maggie was the responsible and reliable half of the company. Emily was the creative cook. Chad was attracted to Maggie and recently he had decided he was bored. Emily is the drama queen, and even though she's younger, Maggie has been brought up to take care of her. Maggie is a very loyal and responsible person. She can be very caring and loving. She can also be stubborn at times. She was usually very sensible who learned to let go some and also found love. I liked her character. Chad was a charming Southern man. He was a good guy, kind and caring. He changed throughout the story but for the good. He could also be stubborn at times and very straight-forward. I liked his character a lot.
It was a great book with a great story and characters. I liked it very much and highly recommend it to anyone that likes this genre.

This was a really sweet story. Maggie and Chad meet at a wedding where they are on the 'spares' table where they seat all the singles, the eccentric aunt and the ones they don't know what to do with! She's also helping with the catering- a business with her sister. There is an absolutely disaster with the wedding cake and Chad helps her come up with a very pretty solution.

They immediately hit it off- but Chad is due back in America in a few days and Maggie feels responsible for her sister's well being. Can they see a future toegther?

Many thanks to Net Galley for a copy of this book.

A nice idea for a book - a wedding rejects table. Cleverly written with lots of humour Chad and Maggie's meeting and subsequent budding relationship is a light easy read, all wrapped up in a delightful Cornish setting.

What an absolutely delightful novella! Not every bride plans to have the “singles” or otherwise known as the “reject” table – those folks that come by themselves, the cranky old biddy, the sleazy female, the odd male or the grumpy old man — you know, the folks that no one really wants at their table. But hey, it’s the bride’s day and if she wants a “reject” table, she gets it. So American Chad Robertson is going to be heading to that table. Oh, he is far from a grumpy old man, but he is a distant relative who is there by family obligation and no one knows who the heck he is anyway. Maggie Taylor is actually part of the cake and catering professionals. She got her seat because she’s the bride’s best friend – and no one really expected her to be spending anytime seated anyway. Chad has already checked out the lovely Maggie and he definitely finds her to not be reject worthy – he intends to get to know this special lady better.

Chaos soon happens in the kitchen. And Chad will step in to not only help, but in many ways to save the day… all the while pouring on his famous Southern Charm on this English Lady he wants to spend time with. The final insult to the chaos is Maggie’s sister’s scream. It seems Ems’ betrothed decided to break off their engagement via text. Yeah, not classy at all. And, being the drama queen that she is, Ems collapses on the kitchen floor and needs to be carried home.

Chad will pursue Maggie, in spite of a few setbacks. And along the way brothers will reunite, sisters will clear up the past – and two very special people will fall in love.

The Wedding Reject Table is full of emotions. You will sniffle, giggle, laugh out loud, groan and be charmed. Opposites may attract, but soulmates know each other at first glance. This is one story that you will enjoy, no matter what kind of romance you usually read. I recommend this one for simply the feels and the emotions it brings out in us. It’s a delight and now I’m going to go find the first novel in this series.

Fun Love Story!
This was a fun love story; this is the second book in the Nashville Connections series by Angela Britnell. Maggie is a cake decorator and always ends up sitting at the “reject table” since she is not in a relationship. She meets Chad at a wedding when he helps her with a wedding cake disaster. This book has a great love story, with lovable characters, so if you are looking for a good summer read then check this book out. I am looking forward to reading more books by this author. A Review copy was provided to me in exchange for a fair and honest review. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

This is a romantic and sweet story about Maggie - a cake decorator/caterer who meets Chad at a wedding and has to try and work out a way to make her burgeoning attraction to him fit with her responsibilities to her family.

I really liked Maggie and Chad, although I found her sister Emily really quite annoying. I would have liked to have seen what happened when Maggie and Chad went to Nashville, but I did enjoy the book. I'll be keeping my eye out for more.

Oh wow, this was seriously so much fun! I loved 'What Happens in Nashville' by Angela Britnell and after finishing 'The Wedding Reject Table' I just know that all her books will be favourites of mine.

Maggie Taylor is a cake decorator who, partnered with her temperamental sister, is catering her best friend's wedding. You'd hope this would mean a prime seat for the speeches and such, but no; instead she is assigned to the 'Wedding Reject Table'. What starts out as a really fun concept, with Maggie's table companions being divorcees, old women and single, desperate young girls and the gorgeous Nashville lawyer Chad, turns into a meaningful tale of the power of forgiveness, family and taking a chance at love.

Sometimes with short stories and novellas, there can be a lack of character development, or an info-dump of backstory, but in 'The Wedding Reject Table' Angela Britnell has shown how it should be done. Maggie and Chad's relationship develops so naturally and doesn't feel at all forced, especially when the truth about Maggie's family situation and strained relationship with her sister is explained. With Chad, she learns to live for herself, and with Maggie, Chad learns how important family is, and how he wants to make amends with his own brother. Maggie and Chad's romance was a beautifully written story and I loved every second of it, especially when they bantered so naturally with each other.

A heart-warming tale, this is a definite must read, especially if you are looking for something a bit shorter, but which still packs a punch!

5 Stars!
