This Story Might Save Your Life is unlike anything I’ve read before. It’s funny, heartwarming, achingly sad and hugely uplifting, while also being a meticulously plotted mystery. I loved Joy and Benny’s relationship, how well they knew and trusted each other, and how that meant Benny could find and understand the clues Joy had left. They’re both such real characters, (as are the supporting cast, Luna and Sarah and Mallory, Emil and Carlotta) flawed but so loveable. I really want the podcast to be real, and I was desperate for Benny to find Joy, for her to still be alive.
This Story Might Save Your Life is a gripping, unique debut you won’t want to miss. It’s a meticulously plotted mystery wrapped up in a tender love story, a book that is as funny as it is sad; hugely uplifting, but unflinching when it comes to the darkness at the heart of some people. Joy and Benny’s story of survival will stay with me for a long time.

Well this has definitely been my favourite read of 2025, and believe me I have read a lot of books!This Story Might Save Your Life was an incredible romance/thriller with lots of twists and turns, I usually only read romance but I think I might start to mix my genres from now on. The love between Joy and Benny was so sweet and real, and the ending was perfect.
This is the type of book that you will want to read again, if you haven’t read it already, do so now!

Oh man, this was so good! I can't believe this is a debut.
Firstly: the plot, perfectly executed, if a bit confusing sometimes. In this case, it only makes me want to reread it. The build up was excellent.
Secondly: the characters. They were very well fleshed out. I had no trouble keeping them apart, which is no small feat, because there were a number of complicated relationships. Brothers, sisters, exes, neighbours.
Thirdly: the mixture of genres. Well, this is what I liked best about this. Is it a thriller, a romantic story or a new genre? Thrilmantic? Anyway, I really like that authors are mixing genres more and more.
I am rather obsessed with this book and am looking forward to thrusting this at our customers!
