Description
A ‘therapy thriller’: A completely new kind of self-help book, featuring innovative psychological techniques that can help readers, told through an engaging mystery story.
Welcome to The Process, a therapy retreat on the North Devon Coast.
Five delegates have assembled to face up to their issues. David, a hotshot lawyer, must overcome the perpetual sense that he is an outsider. Sujitha, a veteran German traveller, is an outsider too – in her home country. Sheila, a middle-aged executive, keeps on falling for charming but narcissistic men. Nathan appears to be totally ‘together’ – what is his problem? Lola needs to balance her desire for independence with her traditional British Asian family. Louise, the therapist, who has risen from poor roots in Brooklyn, seems totally in control – but does she have her own unresolved issues too?
And alongside them is Jacob, the mysterious creator of The Process, whose dark past has up until now, been largely undetected. But technological changes are fast catching up with the other side to his ‘creativity’. What will happen if his two worlds collide?

the process. a therapy retreat. well i immediately new there was more to come with this one. i was drawn in and always am to books like this. that multy layering of people and stories. the cover for this book and then the blurb gave me pause in this one. was their something of unease to where this tale could go. well i was so intrigued it already gave me excitement for what was to come.
i think the authors previous job really played well into the story hes decided to put his pen to here too. it felt authentic and somehow wise too besides being a really great story-line.
you are there, right there with the characters, learning their stories. watching the process. this book had that magic something, i was gripped to know more about the more i read.
it almost felt like the author could be teaching or doing a coaching via a book if that makes sense. and you can take on board what you will. but its definitely somehow pulls you as a reader more into whats going on, gets you more involved.
i think this could be a really good way to teach people a process. im definitely one of those people that need an example when asked to do something. or like to be shown almost an instant of how something might work. i think many people with little confidence would find that helpful. its almost like you dont have the confidence to go forth with something so seeing it done via or with something or someone else really helps you see how you could go forward with things. that for me is a really great teaching process.
aside from that thought its also a really great read. its interesting. its full of its own twisty moments that lead you into them with ease and is never expected! the layers bought in particularly about this retreats founder just makes you keep those pages turning.
the balance was just right in this book and i applaud the author for gripping me on every level. its had something extra to it in this book and i enjoyed that little moment of difference.
hes very much an author id like to see more from.
