I thought that this was a really cute children's book and it had some wonderfully bright, clear and attractive illustrations which helped bring the story of Bear and his friend, Pierre to life.
I can definitely see this book being a hit with younger readers and those taking their first steps out in to the big wide world of books and hopefully it will get them encouraged to start on their way. The writing style is spot on for the age range, it is easy to follow and understand.
It is 5 stars from me for this one - very highly recommended!
Such a cute book about a bear that has lost his best friend Pierre. The words run together smoothly and the illustrations are lovely.
I love the bond between Bear and Pierre who obviously have an amazing friendship. Pierre was definitely missing for a very sweet reason.
My 5 year old and I really enjoyed reading this together. She found it fun to read together, and the words were easy for her to read independently, which she enjoyed.
It's a brilliant book and one we would definitely be interesting in adding to her book collection, to read again and again.
Thank you for allowing us to read this.
My three year old giggled his way through, "Where is Pierre?". It is such a charming story about a bear on his birthday seeking out his missing penguin best friend, Pierre. The illustrations are bright and beautiful and there are things to spot on every page. I think it will become a perennial favourite in our house.
Where is Pierre? Is surely going to be one of the top under 5s books of 2026.
This is a beautiful book that is going to enchant and entertain young book lovers as well as adults.
Bear is celebrating his birthday and can’t find his best friend Pierre the Penguin! This is simply a wonderful hunt the penguin book - but the illustrations are what make this book magical.
As a debut book, Emma Clarke surely has created a mini wonder .
Funny, warm- hearted and with adorable characters. This is going to be highly recommended book to family, friends and colleagues working in EYFS classes.

Bear and Pierre are friends. On his birthday, Bear looks for Pierre.
There are two cute twists.
Lovely book for young ones.
Thank you so much to Bloomsbury Children’s Books and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.
It’s Bears birthday, Pierre is his Penguin best friend but he cannot find him anywhere, he goes all round town with a missing penguin paper hoping someone knows where is he hiding. Then as he goes home he find a surpise awaiting him.
This was such a hilarious and incredibly fun book. From the rhyming to the search and find feature this book was so much fun throughout. I had such an incredible time reading it and laughing at each turn at what they were getting up too.
I loved looking at the illustrations searching and spotting Pierre, I also loved that at the start the photos behind Bear had only little bits of Pierre shown, it was hilarious and helped set the tone for the rest of the book trying to spot him in many different places.
This book is such a perfect fun book for young readers, it’s incredibly funny, really easy and fun to read, I loved the rhyming and the humour within it, the illustrations are amazing to look at, so many little details on each page and Pierre to find, a sweet friendship between a Bear and Penguin and it’s a great activity to keep them occupied.

This book is adorable, with gorgeous, bright illustrations and great characters. The rhyming text will make it very appealing to young children. The added interest of having to spot Pierre on each page is great, and not always obvious! This could become a future classic.
