Description

Perfect for fans of One Day and Talking at Night.

Every morning, Sophie boards the same train.

Every morning, she spots him – tall, unreadable, always with a novel in hand…often the same one she is reading.

Soon, their commute becomes a silent exchange of titles, a game only they seem to be playing. But how long can a love story stay between the lines before someone dares to take it off the page…

Ask Me What I’m Reading is a slow-burn romance about chance encounters, the love of books and the quiet thrill of meeting someone who just gets it.

I really enjoyed this book- such an identifiable feeling- to have fallen out of love with reading, but both Sophie and Max felt at crossroads and did something about it. I liked all of the characters in this book, from Vonnegut to Anna to Remi to Sophie and Max themselves- they felt like people you would genuinely meet and I enjoyed finding out about what had led Sophie and Max respectively to their mornings on the train. The instagram account was very entertaining #buffbookboy would definitely take off in real life and seeing Sophie gain friends through rediscovering her hobby was great. The story had good pace, loads of side interest along the way and the slow burn of the main characters was delightful- would definitely recommend.

This is a clever novel about Sophie and Max who ride the same commuter train daily. Sophie always carries a book with her and Max is intrigued. And when he begins reading the same book she carries, she wonders if it was "meant to be" or some sort of scam? Of course things escalate and there are several funny encounters in this "meet-cute" novel!

This book completely wrapped itself around me 🥹

Sophie and Max felt so real that even when life got in the way and I had to stop reading, I was still thinking about them constantly 💭 And Max?? Absolutely elite #BuffBookBoy material 😮‍💨🖤

This book made me laugh out loud, got me emotional more than once, and honestly just felt like such a warm hug for book lovers! 📖☕️

Such a comforting, all-consuming read and I already miss these characters 😭
