Bridgerton, The Selection, and The Cruel Prince collide in this royal-inspired romantasy; the sequel to the instant New York Times bestseller The Rose Bargain.

Wed to one brother.

In love with the other.

Having won the hand of the faerie King Bram, Ivy is now Queen of England.

But with his ascension to the throne, Bram unleashed the fae into the human world. After hundreds of years of being kept from their favourite playthings, the Others are looking to make up for lost time … and they do, with wicked revelry that sweeps through the country.

To survive, Ivy acts the sweet, devoted wife. Behind the smile, she plots to banish her husband, save her sister Lydia, and reunite with the love of her life, Emmett.

Yet Emmet and Lydia are trapped in the Otherworld, where the fae games are deadlier than ever and a queen must play most viciously of all. Or see herself dethroned.

Forbidden romance, deceptive bargains, and lethal court intrigue intertwine in this mesmerizing fae romantasy sequel that will captivate fans of Once Upon a Broken Heart and Belladonna.

"A deliciously dark and romantic fantasy” Stephanie Garber, on The Rose Bargain

Thank you to the publisher for the earc!

I loved The Rose Bargain, so I was really excited for the sequel! It did not disappoint!

We pick up a few months after the ending of The Rose Bargain. Ivy is now Queen of England with Bram by her side. Emmett and Lydia are in the Otherworld, but she has no way to reach them. Or so she thought. An opportunity arises, and Ivy finds herself in another game. This time, the winner will be Queen of the Otherworld.

I was so happy to be back in this Bridgerton x The Cruel Prince inspired world. I loved the glamour of the court(s), but the faeries are definitely wicked here. Or maybe it’s just Bram. Sometimes he acted as a kid throwing a temper tantrum when things didn’t go the way he wanted. He’s charming and manipulative, and I did not like him at all.

On the other hand we have Emmett, who also isn’t the greatest example of honesty. He has his own secrets, and while I understand he tried to survive, maybe telling the truth from the start would have saved a lot of stress.

I do like Ivy and Lydia. They both fell for Bram’s deceptions, but they realized they have to work together to save both worlds. I admit it’s have been better if Ivy and her group sometimes planned things in advance, because many times she just acted and hoped for the best.

I admit I think the ending was a bit too perfect, and if I was stricter I would have reflected it in my rating, but I enjoyed the book way too much.

I’d recommend the doulogy for those who are looking for a slightly darker upper YA book with faeries.

The perfect ending to this duology. This series is so magical and whimsical, a perfect historical romance with fantasy elements too—would highly recommend to everyone I loved every minute of it.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A perfect ending to a gorgeous little duology full of deadly fae, sumptuous secrets and gorgeous dresses. Bridgerton meets The Cruel Prince, book one was all in the human world, whereas The Thorn Queen finally takes us into the Otherworld, the realm of vicious faeries and dangerous creatures. Ivy finds herself once more in the midst of deadly trials, but this time the stakes are even higher - her and her sister Lydia's lives hang in the balance, and her sinister faerie husband Bram is out of control. Even Emmett, the man she loves more than anything, is keeping secrets from her. With allies old and new, they work together to put an end to faerie tyranny once and for all. I absolutely loved this book and felt it was the perfect ending to the story I fell for in book one.
