Description

She can survive the hackers’ threats. But can she survive being near him again?

Eight years ago, Jackie Rawlings left New York with a shattered heart and no intention of coming back.

Until her father died, and Jackie was pulled back home to lead her family’s tech empire.

When a string of targeted attacks threatens her company, her reputation, and her life, Jackie is forced into hiding at her brother’s secluded lake house in Silver Lake Falls.

She expects boredom, cabin fever, maybe a few emails.

What she doesn’t expect is him.

Adam Erickson, her brother’s best friend. Her first love. The man she ran away from without a word, all those years ago.

The tension between them is instant. The chemistry, undeniable. And the danger closing in leaves them with only one option:

Stay close.

Stay civil.

Try not to ignite everything they buried.

But proximity makes old wounds ache… and old desire burn hotter than ever.

Beneath Adam’s sarcasm is a man who never stopped wanting her, even if he no longer trusts her with what’s left of his heart.

Jackie’s spent her life fighting for her reputation, her company, and now her safety.

A Time for Love by Khris Andrews is a heartfelt romance that focuses on second chances, healing, and the courage it takes to open your heart again. The story moves at a gentle pace, allowing the emotions and character growth to take center stage. I enjoyed the sincerity of the relationships and the hopeful message about love arriving when you least expect it. It’s a warm, comforting read that will resonate with anyone who enjoys emotional, character-driven romance.

HAHAHA
Oh! the banter was so good.

Once again, Khris managed to pulled me out of this world and I was stuck in their universe. It’s so weird, the way she writes makes me feel like I’m right there with the characters, watching from afar. Is so natural, so real and so fluid.

I was back in Silver Lake Falls, with a few trips to new york and even italy, and it was FUN. And also emotional. And funny. And the slow burn was so good. She really knows how to make em.

Finding more about Adam and Jackie, what happened between them in the past, and watching them trying to trust each other again was entertaining at best, and with the suspense in the background it made it even better. Khris really managed to keep the mystery alive without making it annoying or boring.

This was a good story, with captivating strong characters.

ADAM!
Adam was sarcastic, funny, sometimes an asshole, charming and could definitely push some buttons, but underneath at all, he was caring, a good friend and had some insecurities and struggles. He battled with it, being in his mind a challenge, which made him more real to me. And I just loved him so much.

JACKIE, she was so strong, confident and feisty. She was a badass boss! But also vulnerable, at times, when she couldn’t hide behind a tough exterior. She was a good sister, a good friend and overall a good person, she deserved the best. I loved her sincerity and the way she handled her problems, never backing down even when she was feeling corned. The way she handled interviews… I want to be her when I grow up.

These two together made me blush the whole time. The banter was so good, the chemistry was THERE! They were fun, full of angst and made me want to put them in a room and make them talk until they were kissing nicely, yes, infuriating. Infuriating in the best way possible!

Romantic suspense is my favorite genre, so I’m always scared is not gonna live up to expectations. But Khris did it so well I didn’t want it to end ever.

Is so fun trying to guess who the “bad guy” is!

10/10 romance, loved every second of it.

And still...I ran through the city like a madman the second I thought she might be in danger.”

bonus comment with SPOILER:::

I liked how this was a reverse of the usual “the man f*cks up and has to do a big gesture to get the girl back”, this time the girl had to do some fighting, and as much as I love a man barking and groveling, I loved the idea of a little reverse situation too, felt new and fresh lol jackie i love you bbgirl.

I read a phrase recently that I think epitomizes why Jackie feels so conflicted on an emotional basis which leads her to run away. "The secret to having it all is knowing that you already do." Yes, on paper, Jackie seems to have it all as the head of one of the largest security firms in the world of which she is well respected and seen as intelligent, quick witted and tenacious. However, does she really have it all when she knows that in fact, she doesn't at all? Is having it all require consistent security detail because she fears for her life? That she needs to observe deep love as evidenced by the actions of Carter and Eliza from the sidelines?. That her behavior is expected to be of a certain caliber due to her great wealth and thus dictates her choices of friends? Despite the horrific events that led her to Silver Lake Falls, I think that it is there where she finds herself again. Where she can be just Jackie and not Jackie Rawlings. Where she appreciates good relationships and that she is worthy of one as well. She doesn't deserve anything less. Most importantly, she doesn't need to run away again. She is enough. That is why timing is everything. How she knew that it is with certainty that it was time for her and Adam to be together. She can be independent and strong but that doesn't translate into being alone. She didn't have to chose being alone every again because Adam was always there even when she didn't know nor fought against it. It was her time for happiness and fulfillment in the right relationship. It was her time.

A Time For Love
By Khris Andrews
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ (4.5)

It’s official, I’ve been sucked into the romance world … and honestly, I’m not mad about it.

This book was so good. I wasn’t sure going in if it would be my thing, but I was pleasantly surprised.

I really loved Andrews’ writing style. The characters felt both likable and relatable, which is huge for me. I hate when I can’t find myself rooting for anyone, but that definitely wasn’t the case here. I was fully invested in both Jackie and Adam and understood where each of them was coming from.

I will say, I skimmed the spicy scenes. It’s just not my thing ... I get secondhand awkwardness reading the (especially while sitting on a bus full of strangers on the way to the Cliffs of Moher) 😅

The ending was exactly what I wanted. I love a nice, clean wrap-up, and I was excited to find out that Eliza and Carter’s story is featured in a previous Silver Lake Falls book. Adding that to my TBR for sure.

I had the opportunity to read A Time For Love a bit early and really enjoyed it. This is my first read from Khris Andrews, and I thought the story was very heartfelt and captivating. It was very interesting getting to learn about Adam and Jackie. It was clear from the beginning how much love and passion they still have for each other in this second-chance romance. I loved reading in Adam's POV because you could just tell how much he cared for Jackie despite all the hurt and time passed. I enjoyed the dual POV. I think the writing flowed nicely and the pace was easy to follow. I enjoyed the spice, five stars. I really love the boathouse scene. I also thought the whole crime aspect was interesting and added a good part to the story. In the end, it was nice to see Adam and Jackie work through their issues with each other and within themselves. I think it was very important for them to choose themselves before they chose each other, and I think that only united them even more in the end.

Hit: I think the second chance story really hit. It seemed that even though they tried hard, they couldn't stay away from each other once they were in each other's orbit again.
Miss: I wish there were an epilogue. I would have loved to know what Jackie and Adam were up to in the future. Especially since marriage and kids seem to be in the picture for both of them.

Fave quote: "Loving you is the easiest thing I've ever done. It comes naturally. Like breathing."

I should have read the 1st one in this series but it’s ok, bc I’m going to start it next to get more backstory on Carter and Eliza. This was such a quick read for me! My first from this author and won’t be the last! If you love second chances, read this one for sure!
