-----

At a crossroads in their relationship, Emma and Julian agree to house-sit for a friend in Athens over the course of an oppressive summer. Their plans take an unexpected turn when they meet Lena, an enigmatic young Greek woman who presents an opportunity for them to explore their relationship in uncharted and thrillingly risky ways. But as the heat in the city grows stifling, Emma and Julian find themselves far more entangled in Lena's life than they'd bargained for. What follows is a highly-charged three-way struggle for control, as Emma, Julian and Lena are suddenly faced with consequences far greater - and far more dangerous - than they could have predicted.

Husband and wife are at a sticking and stuck part in their lives and seemingly their marriage too. a vacation to Greece feels needed. but when they decide to spice up their relationship and reeeeeally go for it in that sense, its brings a lot more than they could have imagine to their lives. and not in all good ways.
this book was what i thought it might be but also lend itself to alot more thought provoking moments too. it left me pondering over a lot of things and the consequences of what they do i felt were really well written into what comes next for the pair. and for me it answers its own questions of why what they do never works it never works. even those pretending it doesn't know for at least one of them, deep down its not working!
it was an interesting read and definitely a premise i dont see much of in my books.
i really enjoyed the branch of of Lena " the chosen one" story. it adds an even more charged and involved intrigue to the read and ramped up the emotions and tension layering to another level.

While on vacation in Greece housesitting for a friend, Julian and Emma, a husband and wife team, decide Emma wants to add a third person to their union to spice things up. A 22-year-old Greek woman named Lena assists them in this fantasy. But things go south, and the couple is caught up in a web of danger, consequences, and hardship. Athens makes a perfect backdrop for this intriguing story.
