What a great story! I was sucked in from the first moment and couldn't put it down! This was such a refreshing premise for a book! I loved everything about this!!!!

This was such a cute read. I was hooked from the very first page and I kept reading until the end as I wanted to know what happened. It's the perfect festive read. I highly recommend it and I look forward to reading more by the author.

The first in a Clover Pines series that I already can't wait to go back to for more small town, cozy and relatable characters 🙌🏼 The side characters in friends and family of Scarlett and Killian already have me intrigued to their follow ons in the upcoming books. Loved the subtle little interlink to characters in previous books read as well. Very clever!


Sophie Snow definitely got Scarlett right in this. I was rooting for her to have her forbidden romance happy ending all the way through. Killian and Scarlett's story is one of Love, Surprise, Support and Family.

Oh my days, this book was incredible.
As someone who's been reading Sophie's books since Legally Binding was released, I did not doubt that this book was going to be amazing.
I loved this book with my whole being. I fell in love with all these wonderful characters, and I want to move to Clover Pines immediately. It seems like the perfect small town where everyone knows you and is willing to help you no matter what.
As always, the plot was perfect; it gripped me from page one. I needed to know everything about these characters and what led them to where they are at the start of this book. At no point was I confused or bored; the pacing was spot on.
Sophie's writing style is so realistic and emotional. She brings the things she writes about to life and makes the reader fall into their heads, feeling every emotion they do, which gives the story another depth.

My heart broke for Scarlett, the way she'd been treated by Dom.
She'd gotten pregnant so young, and he'd made all these promises, only for Scarlett to end up doing the mum thing alone.
But she hadn't let that stop her; she'd put her little girl first and been the best mum she could, and when Dom returned, and Scarlett ended up pregnant with her baby boy, she did it all over again. Putting her needs and wants on the back burner and making sure she was giving her kids the best childhood that she could.
She was such a well-rounded character, her emotions overflowing, and I found myself crying for her more than once.
She needed help but was too scared of being let down once again, so she hid it and carried on alone, even if that made it all ten times harder.

I fell in love with Killian from the first sentence, which I knew I would, he is a Michaelson after all.
He went to Clover Pines to confront his dad's mistress, only to find a single mum too scared to ask for help. And instead of making her situation worse, he stayed, he got to know her and his half-siblings. He proved to Scarlett that she still deserved to be happy and loved, that she could trust him to be there for her and the kids.
Killian is very much the hero of this book; he stays and proves to everyone in Scarlett's life that not everybody in his family is a jerk, and he stands up for Scarlett and the kids at every turn.
I wish we could have more from his point of view, like another book, because he was such a well-written character, and I'd love to know more about him and his life.

Sophie, I'll forever be honoured that you asked to name a character after me. The fact that my name is in one of your books is so incredible. I love you!

I hope we see more of these characters in Between Luck and Hate All My Luck and Lucky Ever After I really want to see where life takes them next.

I'm so lucky that I get to be part of her street team, too, but that didn't guarantee I would receive this ARC, so when I did, I had literal tears in my eyes.

Literally, at this point, it's so true when I say this: Anything Sophie Snow writes, I will read and absolutely love. And A Lucky Little Christmas hit just right for me, just like all of her other books. Scarlett and Killian were two incredible characters, and you could feel the warmth and love seeping through the pages, as usual with her stories and between all of her characters.

The family, the characters, the references and nods to other parts of her different series, were just EVERYTHING. I don't want to go into spoilers, especially with this being an early ARC read, but just know this has definitely made it as one of my favorite reads this year. 5 stars all around.

Now there aren’t many authors I’d read a Christmas book for out of season but I am obsessed with Sophie Snow so obviously she got me to do Christmas in March! & let me tell you, I loved it! What I really enjoyed is although you know whilst reading that it’s a Christmas book, it’s not in your face with it and instead it just feels really cosy with the Christmas vibes👌🏻

When I realised that this book was going to be the trope dad’s ex-girlfriend I was intrigued but knew that she’d manage to make it thoughtful and emotional instead of just smutty! Don’t get me wrong, that side is absolutely included but isn’t the focus at all! It wasn’t until I was halfway through that I registered that the queen of age gap had flipped the ex’s dad trope on its head and made it ex’s son instead which I am here for!

I absolutely adored seeing Scar’s character really come into herself throughout this book. You know her entire focus, ever since Caitlin and James came along, has been on her children and being the best mum she could be whilst being let down time and time again by Dom (ew, Dom). & Kill? Well he just wanted to be there and support all of them in any way he could as soon as he knocked on her door! Honestly I was rooting so hard for both of them right from the get go🥰 You could see the love and care between Killian and Scarlett grow in such a beautiful and mindful way as well as the relationships between Kill and Caitlin & James grow too which was heartwarming!

I liked both characters, in particular Scarlett our FMC. I really warmed to her and I was rooting for the pair from the first chapter. This book was the perfect length, faced paced from the beginning since its a short read.
Just the right amount of spice in my opinion too 🔥

Killian is one of my favorite book boyfriend names and I was hooked immediately. I loved how he was set to seek out his dad’s mistress only to quickly change his tune after meeting her. I love how Scar developed throughout the book, realizing it’s okay to lean on others for help, without losing independence.

The family dynamic was beautifully written. Killian’s family and Scar’s family all brought so many different and wonderful things to the table. I was immediately hoping for books for some of them and trying to figure out who was paired with who!

Dom…ugh. Whenever his name would pop up I would cringe. Sophie did a great job writing an unlikable character that made me seethe when he spoke or showed up. He has no redeeming qualities and was a well written antagonist!

I usually don’t go for books with kids in them because it’s not my thing. However, the two in this book were adorable (and not annoying). They were so much of the plot that it worked for me and I loved them. Seeing how Killian instantly took to them and loved them melted my heart. The family photo in front of their tree was one of my favorite parts!

Overall, I loved this book. I loved that there wasn’t a third act break up and that Killian and Scar never fought their attraction. There wasn’t any miscommunication and it all panned out in a way that was perfect for two adults with their lives (mostly) together. I cannot wait for book two!!

Sophie Snow knows how to write vulnerability with aplomb. She takes what could be a strictly salacious premise and infuses it with care, nuance and sweetness.

Killian sets out to confront his father’s mistress but ends up finding out he has two half-siblings. Connecting with them becomes the goal and the feelings the burgeon between himself and Scarlett the bonus.

Scarlett deserves every good thing that comes her way in this book. Becoming a young mother shaped her entire being. She constantly tries to ensure her kids have a good, happy childhood which normally means she fills her cup last. She finds it hard to ask for support; part of what makes her romance with Killian so great is that he sees her burdens and without asking does what he can to lighten her load.

Killian is a green flag. He clocks the harm his father has done and shows that the apple falls far from the tree.

I’ll absolutely continue on reading the series.

I already had high expectations for this book, and it exceeded them. I'm sorry Cal, but I think I have a new favourite Michaelson 👀

I devoured this book so fast. I didn't want to put it down! I love the Micaelson clan with my whole heart and I am so happy we get more of them! Killian and Scarlette were the perfect introduction to this series and the extended Michaelson family. If you've read the Spicy in Seattle series, then you'll be aware of how big this family is and how much they all care for each other, so Killian and the rest of the family's decisions throughout this book did not shock me at all. It just cemented their characters even more in my opinion. Do you think they'd adopt me?

This was just one of those feel-good romances that just burrows into your heart and leaves you feeling all warm and gooey inside. The way they built trust and go to know each other was rewarding for me as a reader and it I loved watching them slowly heal together.

Scarlett is a bad ass mama bear, and I will protect her and those adorable children with my life. Scarlett has been done dirty over the years, and it's caused a lot of pain and led her to believe she shouldn't rely on anyone else. She spent all her time and energy making sure her kids and all the people around her were happy that she forgot to take care of herself. Killian rocking up at her door was probably the most terrifying and also the best thing that could have happened to her. I was so proud of Scarlett by the end of this book and she deserves the world.

Killian. Killiaaaaan! This man is just a walking green flag. That's not my opinion. It's just a fact. He loves with his whole being. It's like he gets a high helping people become the best they can be and see their true potential. Unless you are a certain someone that shall not be named. There's no saving him from Killian's wrath, and it is 1000% deserved. You don't want to see this golden retriever's bad side. I knew I was going to love him by the end of the first chapter. His positivity is infectious, and it's hard not to gravitate to him.

It's set in a small town, that may be too nosey for their own good sometimes, but they look out for their own and I just love that kind of community. So, believe me when I tell you that the found family trope is there in abundance for all you found family lovers out there! You might find the relationship between Killian and Scarlett a little taboo depending on your thoughts of their situation, but I just felt she lucked out and upgraded to be honest 🤷🏼‍♀️

A Lucky Little Christmas is our first trip to Clover Pines, which is 1 out 4, and I'm so excited. Not only is it a new series, but also Sophie's first trad published book 🎉 and I'm so so so excited for more people to jump on the Sophie Hype train.

I absolutely loved our new cast of characters, and so happy that we are meeting more of the Michaelson's! Who happens to be my favourite family of Sophie's.

This was such a cute festive read, even reading it in april didn’t take me out of the christmas spirit.

sophie snow is a must read author for me with any new release from her. i absolutely LOVE ex’s dad as a trope but ex’s son was a new one for me and full disclosure, i wasn’t sure how i felt about it going in but i shouldn’t have doubted sophie at all as i enjoyed this trope so much.

killian was such a good mmc, green flags all round! and i loved seeing scar come into her self more, putting herself first and not taking a certain someone’s shit!

definitely add this to your festive tbr for this year! thank you netgalley for the arc.

Sophie always knows just how to make me get emotional and this book was no different! I cant wait to continue to explore Clover Pines & see the other couples ive guessed through this book.

Scarlett & Killian

I loveeee a forbidden romance, and thought Id read just about every ex’s [insert relationship here] possible, but ex boyfriend’s son never occurred to me, especially when kids / half-siblings are in the mix. But I’m not surprised in the slightest that Sophie could write it and get me completely invested in their story. I fell in love with Sophie’s writing when I read Legally Binding back in 2024, and every book of hers Ive read since has been amazing.

Scarlett and her kids, Caitlin and James, made the cutest little family, and no matter how much Scarlett was struggling to keep her head above water, she was an amazing mum and never failed to make sure the kids knew they were loved. Her past ‘relationship’ did a number on her confidence, but watching her grow to respect herself and give herself grace through the story was amazing. And yes, some of that was due to Killian’s unwavering support and encouragement, but it’s made very clear that Scar would have gotten their herself, it would just have been a longer road - I can’t get over just how strong she is and that the story wasn’t about romance being a quick fix to a happy ending, but rather that the right person makes the hard times that much easier to bear.

And I can’t not mention how much I love how naturally Sophie navigates sexuality (in all her books, not just this one) - in here, it’s never explicitly discussed, and when Killian mentions an ex-boyfriend, there is no shock or adjustment, just complete acceptance and no difference in treatment to discussing his ex-girlfriend. AS IT SHOULD BE!

One of my biggest red flags is reading books in a series out of order, and reading holiday books out of season

And I love, I absolutely love reading Christmas books. This was the first one I’ve read by this author, and oh my gosh, I love discovering little gems like this. What made me request the book was the “dad’s ex-girlfriend” trope—that’s way too “forbidden,” and in my mind, that means: PERFECT hahahahaha.

... and indeed, it was. I loved the family dynamics, the way the relationship developed, and how adorable those two were. I honestly highly recommend reading it, and thank you, Netgalley, for feeding my obsession.

This was such a cute and fun Christmas read. It was so fun reading it during not the holidays and I will definitely reread it during the holidays.

This cozy romance was incredible! I’m not going to lie, at first the idea of the relationship dynamic between MMC and FMC concerned me a bit, and I don’t see how it would work without feeling ‘icky’. But my word was I proven wrong. The plot, characters and pacing were all bang on.

This will be such a perfect festive read, it’s sunny April right now and I’m tempted to chuck up some Christmas decorations!

I absolutely love Killian and Scar; the focus on the happiness of the children, and Kill’s drive to ensure Scar gets what she deserves?? Incredible!

The romance was well paced and explicit scenes were written perfectly, not too heavy on spice but PLENTY to give it a 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ / 5 spice score (open door).

I love the spotlight given to parents who refuse to put themselves first, finally getting some (well deserved) selfish joy.

I just loved this book - the ending was fab, I just wish we have a bit more time / slightly longer epilogue.

I highly recommend picking this book up once published!!

If there is one person I’m a sucker for, it’s Sophie Snow. This is my 6th ARC of hers and I immediately sign up when they’re available because I know I'll love whatever she writes. I go in blind and am always captivated and can’t put them down and this one was no different. I absolutely ADORE Killian and Scarlett and the kids. I did happen to spot 2 potential couples for future books and can’t wait to find out if I’m right.

Killian was the greenest of the green flags throughout the entire book and I’ll forever be feening for him. And I see so much of myself in Scar so it was so healing to go on this ride with her and watch her blossom.

This part is for Sophie…they say yes at the end right??? If not I am fully prepared to throw down with some kids lol

This is just lovely, a small town romance with all the festive cosy vibes. I loved the characters and how the story had humour but is still very much warm and cosy. I think this will be the perfect festive read. It’s easy to pick up and devour in one sitting too. Definitely recommend!

Reading a Christmas book at the start of spring should feel wrong, but everything about this book felt SO right (I'd do it all over again 🤭). Also, I've read a ridiculously high number of ex boyfriend's dad books, but ex boyfriend's son is a completely new trope to me and Sophie absolutely SOLD me on this!!

This book was such a warm, emotional read, it honestly felt as comforting as the small-town setting it’s built around. Clover Pines is one of those places you can’t help but want to move to, and the whole vibe of found family, healing and second chances just worked so beautifully.

Scarlett completely stole my heart. She’s strong and selfless, but you can really feel how much becoming a young mum shaped her entire life. Everything she does is for her kids, even if that means putting herself last. But watching her slowly realise that she deserves help, love, and happiness too was just so rewarding. Her character felt really raw and real, and I found myself completely invested in her journey.

And Killian… honestly, he’s just a walking green flag. From the moment he showed up, he just wanted to help and support, and he does it in such a steady, genuine way. The way he connects with Scarlett and her kids is so heartwarming to read, and I loved that he actively tried to be nothing like his father.

The romance felt so refreshing as well. There’s no unnecessary drama, no miscommunication, and no forced third-act breakup. Just two adults building something real together. It’s all about trust, growth, and actually supporting each other, which made their relationship feel so earnest and a joy to read.

And I loved Clover Pines SO much. This small town community added so much to the story too. The side characters and found family element really brought everything together and gave it that cosy, feel-good atmosphere.

This is my first book by her, but Sophie Snow’s writing is so engaging that she makes it really easy to connect with the characters and feel everything they’re going through. Overall, this was such a lovely, uplifting read that just leaves you feeling good all round. And I’m definitely continuing with the series!!

I adored both Scarlett and Killian, one who doesn’t like to ask or accept help and the other who shows up and proves that accepting help doesn’t prove you’ve failed.

Killian is the greenest flag and he proves this throughout the story. He’s nothing like his father and the way he devotes himself to Scarlett and the kids was so beautiful.

I love how Sophie wrote this entire book, there’s obviously a complicated dynamic going on but Scarlett and Killian navigated their feelings so well.

Killian’s family was so accepting of Scarlett and the kids, despite the circumstances. There are definitely no bad feelings and I love how they all come together to support Scarlett.

Dom is an absolute arsehole with no redeeming qualities. He tries to cause an issue between Scarlett and Killian but my cuties are way too strong for that. There is no third-act breakup.

I’m very excited for more of these characters.

What a lovely read at any time of the year, but especially Christmas when wrapped up with a lovely blanket and a hot something to keep you warm. Killian was such a lovely man, you could tell why he would be upset and what he needed, he just wanted his mum to have the space to get better, and he gets so much more than he bargained for, they all do. There are so many sweet moments in this story, and I enjoyed so many, you do have to suspend your reality and let go of some things that not everyone will enjoy, like the dating history and stuff, but once you get into the story you will love it.

A cosy, steamy small-town Christmas romance with plenty of heart. Killian’s arrival with explosive family news sets the stage for forced proximity with Scarlett, and their dynamic quickly shifts from tense to tender.
Scarlett is a relatable single mum doing her best, and Killian’s protective instincts add emotional warmth beneath the initial conflict. The chemistry between them builds steadily, balancing festive charm with genuine emotional stakes.

A comforting, feel-good holiday read with just the right amount of spice.

I enjoyed reading about Clover Pines and meeting lots of characters I know there will be a nice series here as I already want to know Landon and Pipers story I'm sure there is some history there and I want to know more about Ronan and Fallon too.

Even though I read this book with on a cruise, I was feeling the winter cozy, but spicy vibes. When Killian finds out that his dad has a mistress, he flies from Ireland to Canada to ask her to end the affair. What he doesn't realize is that his father has two children with her: 8 yr old Caitlin and 4 yr old James. They are his half siblings, and he finds out that his dad had an affair with her when she was 18 and he was 48.

He wants to spend time with his siblings, and he moves in with them and Scarlett. He feels a slow burn connection with her. They do things all through Christmas like going ice skating and going to a Christmas fair. He realizes that he can be there for her, and he wants to take care of her. Despite the family drama and awkwardness with being with his dad's former mistress, I really liked Killian and Scarlett. The story gets spicy, and the dual POV really adds so much to the story. I'm excited to see where the rest of the series goes too.

As a long-time fan of Sophie's, I can confidently say that (somehow) every single book that she writes is better than the last - truly an impossible feat given the fact that her very first book was an absolute banger. Reading this book feels like coming home because 1) Snow has created a community that you feel as though are part and feels familiar and 2) has all of the absolute cosiest vibes of the Wintermore series. And a bonus third thing, the Michaelson clan are back, baby! This book will be a hit with fans of Snow new and old as it truly stands on its own two feet but it also contains Easter eggs to the wider Snowverse that longtime fans are gonna eat up with a spoon.

This book is so tender and beautiful as we watch Scarlett and Killian slowly fall in love with one another as Killian navigates finding out just how much of a bastard his father is. The backdrop of winter / Christmas in Canada feels so cosy and warm despite the Irish contingent clearly having a little bit of a struggle adjusting to the cooler climes 🤣 There is something truly special about romances featuring single parents as we are able to see the strength that it takes for solo parents to excel but we also have the magic that is characters stepping-up to help with the littles and anticipating their partner's needs through acts of service.

I really loved the contrast of Killian's father with the way that Scarlett's family (biological and chosen) have supported her unconditionally. Killian's siblings and mother were also fantastic characters who I was excited to see get so much time on-page and highly anticipate seeing a lot more of in future books, hopefully. Families can be messy and complex and not everyone who is family is related to you, just as not everyone related to you is going to be family, and this is something Sophie truly knocks out of the park every time and this book is no exception.

As a queer person, it means a lot to me when I see casual queerness in books and seeing Killian talk about his ex-boyfriend without any kind of ceremony, he just happened to have an ex-boyfriend really warmed my heart.

I would also like it noted just how funny this book was. There were moments when the humour snuck up on me and I just loved that this book had me giggling and kicking my feet.

I am going to be thinking about this book a lot for some time to come and I eagerly anticipate getting my hands on a physical copy so I can fill it with all of my annotations and highlight the many, many, MANY beautiful quotes from the book. I am so excited that Clover Pines is a quartet because I just know that I am going to fall in love with each and every book and feel truly spoiled to have the chance to spend so much time here.

This was SO GOOOOD! Sophie Snow never fails to warm my heart, drop my jaw, and make me sweat! I went into this one blind and I HIGHLY recommend it! It was full of twists and turns and I loved it all. Killian barreled into Scarlett's life and said "ya know what? I'm locked in" and I loved that. We need more men like Killian. The spice was incredible, the drama was DRAMAING, and the heart was there. An incredible Christmas story (that also doesn't feel like JUST a Christmas story.... it can be read at any time!) that you will open & close in one sitting & love every second!

I was addicted to the dynamic killian and scar formed whilst trying to navigate their relationship. As always the side characters always blend in perfectly which make you start wondering ooo are you going to be the next one. Absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to read it again during cosy season.

this was such a gem of a read. one that took me on a few unexpected directions but never stopped feeling so very real. the premise felt fresh and new and Sophie's writing was far to easy to read which meant i was far too invested. every time i put it down to do something else(you know slightly important things like cook meals) i just wanted to get stuck right back in and see where it would go. Sophie lifts the story right off the pages to the reader so you care about what is going to happen to the characters.
the festive element is just another bonus. i do love getting my fill of festive in July type reads. there is something more emotional hitting and sometimes healing about them. this is one of those books that you almost (not really) dont know if you can read because you just need them to be ok, and by ok i mean in the way i need them to be! as in i was rooting for them so hard.
KIllian and Scarlett were fab characters to get to know. and know them it felt like we did.
the way in which Killian's first determined search to seek out his fathers mistress was powerful in itself. eeeek would you? how could this ever possibly end but with pain and disaster for all involved? well, buckle up because Sophie is about to show is how. that knock on the door and that meeting changes everything.
Scarlett was such a wonderful character. i wanted to scoop her up and make sure she could keep going and was ok. but also just wanted to sit back and let her do her thing. she was a wonderful character and what a mum. straight away you know this woman is a lioness for her family. but also a little too unready to accept help.
just getting to know Scarlett and then Killian made me even more seething at Dom. yuck. Sophie wrote his character brilliantly too. grrrrrr.
the way Killian is just bought up short. everything he thought he knew he was heading for, this confrontation. it completely get turned on its head. knocked over more like.
and Scarlett when it is revealed whats happening. oh no she does not need this! nor now him turning up there like that.
but something, somehow blossoms from the rubble. the way Killian steps up and wants to make it better, wants to show support is kind of too wonderful. he wasn't being fair on my heart in ways i was not expecting when we first meet him on his mission.
the two kiddies in this book were fab. sometimes kiddies arent written in a way i can get on board with. they are done in that Matilda esque way sometimes that doesn't quite fit in many stories. in this one those two were again perfectly written and felt important through every thread of the story. and so they should in a story such as this one being told. Killian getting to know them an then falling for Scarlett was handled so well. it didn't feel wrong once and i love Sophie for managing that.
this is one of those reads that makes you believe if only for the read that there is goodness out there. that people can be good, more than good. it makes you wants far to much for a happy ending for all involved(apart from you and YOU Know who you are!)
everything was just right for me with this book. i wanted to whizz through it but then didn't want it to end. and i do adore books that do that to me. after i wanted so much to go back into that world. and now i must must must read more from Sophie and fingers crossed this series.

A Lucky Little Christmas is a heartwarming festive romance filled with emotional depth, unforgettable characters and a small-town community you'll wish was real. From the very first chapter, I was completely invested in Scarlett, Killian and the lives that brought them together in Clover Pines.

Scarlett is an incredible heroine whose strength shines through every page. Despite everything she has endured, she never stops putting her children first, even when it comes at great personal cost. My heart broke for her more than once as she struggled to trust that someone might finally stay and support her. Killian is equally wonderful. What begins as a mission to confront his father's supposed mistress quickly becomes something far more meaningful, and watching him step up for Scarlett and her children made him impossible not to love.

The romance develops beautifully through forced proximity, undeniable chemistry and plenty of emotional moments. Sophie's writing makes every feeling leap off the page, creating characters who feel genuine and relationships you can't help but become invested in. The pacing is spot on, keeping the story engaging from beginning to end without a single dull moment.

Full of warmth, romance and just the right amount of spice, A Lucky Little Christmas is everything I want from a festive romance. It is a story about healing, second chances and discovering that family isn't always the one you're born into. I loved every moment of it and already can't wait to return to Clover Pines.

What a cute fun read! The premise sounds crazy and it is but it absolutely worked! Killian has flown to Canada to confront his dad’s mistress and ask her to stop seeing him. What he discovers is Scarlett, a woman who is younger than he is and also has two kids. And yes, they’re his half siblings!! When he decides that he wants to get to know the kids he starts to fall for Scarlett! She’s an incredible mom who’s been doing everything on her own for years and he wants her to have more. He decides to help take of her and the kids and give them the best Christmas ever. And boy does he deliver. He was an amazing MMC!! This is the perfect Christmas read. It has a single mom, forced proximity, an incredible MMC who takes care of everyone he loves, spice, and some amazing size characters who I can’t wait to see more of in future books!

If you’ve followed me or my reviews for any length of time, you will know that I have been a die-hard Sophie Snow fan since DAY ONE. In fact, the first socials post Sophie has about any of her books, is one of mine. So you know that I am a serious fan of her and her writing. I have been blessed over the years to get to know Sophie and become one of her Beta Readers. But that said, I am 10000% honest about my reviews and I can unequivocally say, that Sophie’s books always hit HARD and this one was NO exception.

A Lucky Little Christmas is Sophie Snow’s first trad-published book, but if you have read her books previously, you will know that the Clover Pines series is set in the same “universe” as her Spicy in Seattle series.

Killian Michaelson has left his home in Ireland to fly over 6000 miles to confront his father’s mistress. His father is a notorious philanderer, but this affair has gone too far when his father is choosing HER over his mum who is actively fighting cancer back in Ireland. He arrives in the quirky and quaint town of Clover Pines, Canada, DETERMINED to put a stop to it, but is utterly horrified to show up on Scarlett Powell’s doorstep to find her alone with her two children.

Scarlett Powell is a single mom, trying her best to provide for her two kids - on a waitress job that is barely making ends meet. Another day, another book written by Sophie Snow that absolutely destroys me and puts me back together, effortlessly.

I was OBSESSED from the very first page - this book may very well be the Sophie Snow book that had me audibly gasping, swearing and squealing the most. As always, this book is full of Sophie’s signature spice - with some of my beloved tropes, including an age gap (which is rather mild in this instance) as well as forced proximity. The SPICE in this one is unparalleled and sprinkled throughout amidst the sweet, fluffy family bonding and the DRAMA. 

ALLC is quite possibly the most dramatic and angsty of Sophie’s published releases to date, and I was HERE for it. There is a misconception with romances (particularly when there is no third-act breakup and a HEA) that angst and drama/bad things won’t happen and BOY does this book prove that assumption WRONG. I won’t go into too much detail as I don’t want to spoil the book for anyone reading, but given the blurb I think it’s safe to say that there is EX drama. And this ex is even WORSE than you would think. F**K Dom.

But aside from the drama and complicated family dynamics, this book is first and foremost a romance. The FMC, Scarlett, is the very definition of a single mom who works two jobs, loves her kids and has the heart of a fighter. SHE IS A SURVIVOR. Her kids Caitlin and James are her priority. And despite their father having a VERY minimal role in their life, she is determined to make sure that they don’t miss out. Even if that comes at her own detriment. And that isn’t to say she doesn’t have people in her corner, she absolutely does in the form of her best friend Piper, her brother Landon and her parents (as well as the whole of Clover Pines). But she is proud and won’t ask for/accept help. She is sweet and thoughtful and goes above and beyond for everyone.

When Killian arrives on her doorstep and sees Scarlett for who she is, rather than his father’s ex, he is determined to be the person she can rely on. The person to look after HER for a change. And boy does he. Killian is the greenest of green flags. Sweet, attentive and protective - with THE Michaelson eyes and panty-dropping accent. He is PURE perfection. I was obsessed with how he immediately stepped up as family for Caitlin and James and included them in everything. The love and care he has for his half-siblings was never in doubt. Sophie’s writing made it clear from the start that this was a FAMILY and the kids were never an afterthought for the MMC - as they often are when a single-parent romance is on the table. And of course, the romance and SPICE between Scarlett and Killian was magnetic, and I was immediately hooked.

As I have mentioned, this book features a vibrant cast of characters, including Scarlett’s best friend, Piper. Who gave up EVERYTHING to stay in Clover Pines when Scarlett fell pregnant. To her family and friends, as well as some other characters, which I won’t spoil….Clover Pines is an erratic and lovable setting for a series that will undoubtedly be another one of my favourites.

I cannot recommend this book more! The characters are lovable (for the most part), and the setting is cosy and feels like a home away from home. This is the perfect festive read, even in July. ALLC releases October 22nd - sorry to those who have to wait, but the wait is 10000% worth it. In the meantime, be sure to read Sophie’s indie releases, so you can prepare to be OBSESSED with another Michaelson.

Sophie ugh I love her books so much I believe this is her first single mom book 10 out of 10 every single time her books will always be everything that I need in the moment and this book was one of them.

I am not even mad that I devoured a Christmas book in July, because I prefer the festive months anyway haha! This book had me hooked from page one, and the drama just continued to unfold as it went on.

It was a bit weird for me personally, because of the romantic entanglement dynamic 👀 but I actually loved it anyway. They were so good for each other and it was wonderful watching them grow into the strongest versions of themselves.

As much as my neuro divergence made me relate heavily to James, Carrie stole the show for me. The class and decency that woman had in the Christmas situation?! Impeccable

I adored this, and it's got me even more excited for Christmas (even if the NE of England is not quite Calgary)

Every year I tell myself I won't start reading Christmas books until after my birthday. It's become a little tradition, and this year A Lucky Little Christmas had the honour of kicking off my festive reading season. I couldn't have picked a better book to start with.

Killian arrives in Clover Pines determined to confront the woman he believes has been having an affair with his father. Instead, he finds Scarlett, a hardworking single mum doing everything she can to provide for her two children, and quickly realises she has been deceived just as much as he has. As their lives become unexpectedly intertwined under one roof, the chemistry between them quickly becomes impossible to ignore.

The real star of this book, though, was Killian. It has been quite a while since I've come across a character who earned "book boyfriend" status quite so effortlessly. He was caring, protective, funny, incredibly patient and just about everything you could hope for in a romantic lead. Watching him and Scarlett grow close was an absolute joy, and the forced proximity trope was handled brilliantly, allowing their relationship to develop naturally alongside plenty of sparks.

This is very much a cosy, feel-good romance with a festive backdrop and more than enough spice to keep things interesting. The snowy setting, the warmth of Clover Pines and the cosy festive atmosphere made it incredibly easy to settle into, while the cast of characters gave me every reason to keep turning the pages.

It's also worth saying that this isn't a book to overanalyse. If you start looking for intricate plotting or deeply layered character studies, you'll probably find yourself asking questions the story isn't trying to answer. Instead, this is a quick, comforting, thoroughly entertaining romance that knows exactly what it wants to deliver. Sometimes that's exactly the kind of book I'm looking for, and A Lucky Little Christmas absolutely succeeded.

I finished A Lucky Little Christmas with a smile on my face and already looking forward to my next visit to Clover Pines. Oh... and Killian? He has quite comfortably earned himself a place on my ever-growing list of favourite book boyfriends. I can only hope this won't be the last we see of him as the series continues.

In this story our MMC travels from Ireland to Canada to confront the woman his father has been having an affair with. His mom is sick and he is hoping that by doing this, his father would pay more attention to his mother. But when he gets there he is shocked to find out not only is she younger than his sister - she has two children by his father, and she had no idea about his family. Our FMC got pregnant at 18 and hoped for the best - but blamed herself for not being able to be both parents to her children - and now to learn the man she hooked up with has a wife and family - is making her spiral. But when he offers to stay, get to know her, his half siblings and make up for his dad's shitty behavior, he is surprised when he quickly moves from just wanting to help out of duty - to wanting the best for this family that he is weirdly a part of - and wants to be more.

This was such a great start to a new series from Sophie!

The Michaelsons return in following Killian tracking down his dad’s mistress, but what he finds isn’t what he expected - Scarlett and Killian are utterly adorable and I loved their story!

A Lucky Little Christmas is a cozy, emotional romance that completely surprised me in the best way. I don’t usually pick up festive reads out of season, but Sophie Snow is an instant-read author for me and this one absolutely delivered.

The story follows Scarlett, a young single mother doing her best to hold life together for her two children, and Killian, the son of her ex, who arrives intending to confront his father but instead becomes unexpectedly entangled in Scarlett’s life. What starts as a complicated setup turns into a tender, slow-building romance rooted in trust, support, and healing. Scarlett is a standout FMC—strong, exhausted, and deeply selfless—and her growth as she finally allows herself support is beautifully done. Killian is a true green-flag MMC who consistently shows up for her and the kids in a calm, steady way without trying to “fix” everything. What could have felt uncomfortable on paper is handled with care and emotional depth, and I especially loved the focus on family and the bonds among them.

This is Cal’s (from Legally Binding) nephew’s book! The Michaelson men are a special breed! (except for one, ofc 😏) Anytime Killian used the pet name “love” I always heard it in the narrator who did Cal’s voice lol

I also loved the reference to Spicy or Sweet 🤭
