The cutest manga about influencer witches you'll ever read.
WICKED SPOT has adorable artwork, but that's not where it stops. The story is adorable: Sadako, a witch who's lived away from humanity for her entire life, discovers social media through a smartphone. Now she wants all eyes on her, and she's getting them as she turns into an Instagram fashionista. But Hanako, mocked as a "witch" all her life for her super-strength, becomes Sadako's first hater. As the first volume ends, both of them are about to be in over their heads as the witch's council pulls them in - one for breaking the masquerade, the other for being seemingly immune to magic.
WICKED SPOT has all the trappings of a horror manga, if you couldn't guess from the horror-inspired names. But deep down this is a sweet story of two girls who want to be seen for who they really are, and how social media unexpectedly brings them together. It's somewhat reminiscent of MAYONAKA PUNCH in the best possible way. If you're a fan of the creepy-cute aesthetic, or just of the idea that life online doesn't have to be the worst all the time, this is a must-read.
I loved it!
The subject matter is interesting, the story is fast-paced, and the book is a quick read.
The main character is funny and full of energy, which balances out the grumpier secondary character nicely.
The artwork is brilliant; I took the time to look at every panel and really enjoyed it.
The ending sets the stage for an incredible sequel – I can’t wait to read volume 2!

I want more of this! Give me volume 2 right now! This was such a fun, silly, and whimsical story. It kept me entertained all the way to the end, and I couldn’t get enough of these characters.
I loved watching Sadako emerge from hiding to embrace her new witchy influencer era. You could tell from her very first post online that this was the beginning of something so wonderfully silly that you just couldn’t look away.
Her dynamic with Hanako was most entertaining to watch. The two of them complement each other so well, and I can't wait to see how their relationship develops and what challenges they will face next.
The art style is gorgeous too, my favorite part was the way the witches are depicted in both the light and the shadows.
Overall, this was a refreshing new GL story and I highly recommend it!
