Yes! I love the world that Baldree has created and could not wait to get back to it! To read more about Thimble automatically makes this amazing! And Zyll!!! I loved her in Brigands and Breadknives, so I'm glad we got to know a bit more about her!

A bunch of short stories set in one of the cosiest fictional fantasy worlds I’ve ever come across? Sign me up.

I’ve adored the other books in this series and I love it when authors flex their imaginations and delve into short stories attached to their worlds. They always feel like a gift!

We get to follow some beloved characters from the main series, get snippets of insights and whole new tales to get stuck into. I honestly loved them all and read the book in two sittings as, once I started I couldn’t put it down until I’d finished. Another great addition to an already great stack of books!

Thank you to Pan MacMillan/Tor for this Netgalley ARC, in exchange for my honest opinion.

Oh this was such a fun reunion with some of my favourite characters from the Territory. I especially enjoyed the Thimble story, I love that rattkin so much. I cannot wait to buy the physical copy in October to see all the art!

Tales from the Territory was a charming return to the world of Legends & Lattes, offering a collection of short stories that instantly brought me back to the cosy, low-stakes vibes I love so much about the series.

Having recently read "Goblins and Greatcoats", I wasn't sure if it would be too soon for a reread, but it turned out to be just as delightful the second time around. It helped me ease back into the world quickly, and set the tone well for the rest of the collection.

The standout for me was "Just a Thimbleful". I'm definitely biased (Thimble is my favourite character) but it perfectly demonstrated everything that makes him special. His unrelenting urge to bake the most delicious treats imaginable, and his quiet rebellion in the face of the strictest and most culinarily-boring of employers. His steadfast, heartfelt determination to do what he loved, and seeing how that ultimately led him to the doors of Legends & Lattes, made my heart feel so full.

Viv's story, "Pages to Fill" was another highlight, giving us a glimpse into the pivotal moment when she first encountered coffee. Watching the seed that would eventually grow into Legends & Lattes being planted was such a treat.

I also really enjoyed "Mirograph", following Tandri's time helping a university professor with her experiments. I will say, it felt quite different tone-wise. Just as beautiful, but with a layer of tension and sadness to it. Also, I'm pretty sure just witnessed the almost-development of fantasy ChatGPT, and I'm very glad about that "almost".

The last story, "Cavaliers & Coffees", about the arrival of a new competitor for the coffee shop, felt like coming home. It captured all the cosy, low-stakes charm that defined Legends & Lattes, packed into a smaller, but still satisfying narrative. It was cosy, comforting, and a lovely note to end on.

Overall, I loved every story in this collection - not a single miss! This will be an absolute treat for fans who want more time with these characters.

I loved this collection of short stories from the 'Legends & Lattes' series. It was lovely to explore more stories with the beloved characters. I read this after the first three books in the series (all that have been released so far) and this worked well as I knew and loved all of the characters. This book just added to the richness of the universe.

My favourite stories were the first 2, 'Goblins & Greatcoats' and 'Just a Thimbleful'. It was great to get backstories from Zyll and Thimble (2 of my favourite characters).

'Pages to Fill' was a good read. Part way in I realised I had already read it as it was included at the end of my copy of 'Legends & Lattes'. It is a nice extra backstory for Viv.

'Mirograph' was an odd story. I wouldn't say it was enjoyable as such, but it was very interesting. It was great to read more about Tandri. It has a slight ominous/melancholy tone to it. To me it seemed very topical as I could make links with modern AI.

'Cavaliers & Coffees' was another excellent read. It was a nice sequel to 'Legends & Lattes' and I loved the plot and how the found family come together as always.

As always, I love Baldree's writing. It is cosy and heart-warming. It is never slow and keeps you gripped. This was a great addition to the series.

I would highly recommend this series if you are looking for a low stakes, heart-warming read. It is ideal for high fantasy fans. This book is best read once you are already familiar with the series though. This book will be released on 1st October, so make sure you check it out.

Thanks to NetGalley, Travis Baldree, Pan Macmillan and Tor for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

If I have a complaint about this book, it's that I wanted more of it.
An audible "Awwww!" at 1 a.m. when I realized I'd reached the end.

I'd previously read one of these stories ("Goblins and Greatcoats", the story featuring Zyll), but that didn't affect my enjoyment of the book at all. It's lovely to read stories that expand the world Baldree has created and fill in backstories for characters you love. I particularly enjoyed Thimble and Tandri's stories, both of which (in their own ways) are about art and the compulsion to create it. And also feeling stifled or being worried by thaumic technology that has some real world resonance (pun probably intended).

This book is due in October and will be a perfect cosy read as the nights grow longer, maybe accompanied by a (decaf?) latte and some almond cookies.

Thank you to NetGalley and Pan Macmillan/tordotcom for the advance copy in exchange for my honest review.

I LOVED legends and Lattes, and I LOVE these short stories just as much.. it feels like a peak behind the scenes of some of our favourite characters, and I could not have been happier.

I love Travis’ writing style, I feel like I am actually there with Thimble, Viv, Tandri and the others.. I can’t wait to read more of his books

An easy 5 stars, I simply love this cosy series and having these short stories was just perfect! The amount of easter eggs and callbacks made me feel part of a special club, one which I want everyone else to be in too!

We now know where Zyll got Breadlee from, and how Thimble came to work at the café (Bobbin no more made me tear up) which were stories I always wanted but never thought we would get. I must also remember to find smoked cinnamon…

I cannot pick a favourite out of the short stories, however Mirograph really stood out as a call to action against AI and to love the art and artists, something which feels very pertinent to publishing at the moment.

If you loved the others in the series then you will love this, if you haven’t read the others this is not the place to start as it is a companion piece which may not make much sense out of context.

I cannot wait to see this when it is published as I just know the artwork is going to be incredible throughout.

Thank you to NetGalley and Tor for the ARC!

This is a fantastic companion to the Legends & Latte's series! It was wonderful to learn more about the backstories of characters we have come to love in the other books and each added so much depth to their characters, making you appreciate their story arcs even more.

Each short story has a unique tone; Zyll's involvement in a murder mystery, Thimble's baking ambitions, a glimpse of Viv's time as an adventurer, Tandri's time assisting with magical experiments (this one had me all choked up by the end), and then the Legends & Lattes crew dealing with a rival coffee shop.

I absolutely inhaled this book, and I think it is perfect for anyone else who also wants another taste of the world of Legends & Lattes.

Thank you to Tor and NetGalley for the eArc!

A gorgeous collection of tales from Travis Baldree that gives backstory to the events of the three Territory novels. These tales flesh out characters and dive down side roads off the main narrative. Funny, gentle and charming.

I’m sorry but I quite literally NEVER want to leave this world, I want to spend every single day curled up in a booth in Legends & Lattes with a good coffee, one of Thimbles pastries and a fabulous adventure book!

This collection of short stories was not only cosy, but filled a little hole in my heart. I think I experienced every single emotion imaginable within these pages, it was so lovely to see the beginnings of some characters alongside the development of others throughout time.

Zyll and her story made me laugh uncontrollably. The comedic murder mystery vibes alongside an insatiable need for cutlery theft, absolutely perfect. And Thimble??? Thimble has my whole heart. I wanted to step into the pages within the book and throttle the masters for sleeping on such a sweet and talented little mites skill (and cuddle him because he is honestly the most adorable character I honestly would die for him).

This is a series of books that I hold dear to my heart, the ONLY cosy fantasy that has ever really gripped me. Viv and Tandri are perfect - and let me tell you now Tandris story absolutely broke my heart (I was sobbing by the end of it, an absolute blubbering mess like honestly Travis why do you want to see me cry so much??).

I wasn’t sure how I would feel about a short story layout, unsure if I could truly get the same vibes from short snippets, but this SOLD it to me. 10/10, no notes.

Thankyou so much to Netgalley and Tor books for the opportunity to read and review this book early, I am forever thankful.

Baldree has not failed in bringing tears to my eyes with his books in one way or another so far, and this was no exception. This collection of short stories was delightful in ways that I could not imagine, and heartbreaking in ways that I did not expect. Seeing older characters that were unexpected was a delight, and being able to see what shaped several fan favourites reaching the doors of our favourite fantasy coffee shop was needed in ways that I did not realise (especially Thimble).

My only complaint is that we could had so many more, and I can only hope we will receive more Tales from the Territory in the future.
