Description
Following reckless experiences in the icy lochs and snow-clad hills of Argyllshire, awkward young geologist Ewan MacLeod seeks to graduate from being a Looney Scot to a professional geologist and international businessman. Taking nothing for granite, his journey leaves no stone unturned as he unearths the mysteries of Ancient Scottish Culture, and is told with sharp wit, jocularity, and great Scottish humour.
A Note From the Publisher
He then worked as an Independent consultant on Risk Assessment for major infrastructure projects in the Far East. In addition to multiple technical papers and books he wrote the novel Epicentre: Hong Kong, that rattled more than a few authorities and then the third book in this trilogy the ‘Making of Punta’ following his building of the ‘most sustainable and liveable resort in the Philippines.’ Writing with dry Scottish humour he sidesteps normal literary boundaries.
Advance Praise
"An era hopping, pun popping journey through the bedrock of our modern existence via Scotland's important historical and geographical peculiarities. The author starts off as a wee salty underdog but emerges as an educated, thoughtful voice for the way forward." — Anthony C Murphy, author of And Other Days of Nothing Much and The House of Murph
"Flying Scot bikes, camping, hiking to youth hostels, kaya-king, long holidays on Loch Lomond. The author's stories explores the beauty of outdoors Scotland. Quixote-like, he escapes from serious injury and even death. And displays a brain powered by curiosity." — Katherine Elberfeld, author of An Umbrella Made for a Man
"Readable, interesting and humorous—this book has all the essentials of a thoroughly enjoyable and entertaining book. Highly recommended." — David W. Gee Author of Travels and Adventures: True Life Journey to Distant Lands
