Description

If someone told you your world wasn't real, would you want to know?

Three years after her twin sister disappeared, Lana Kevellian has stopped expecting answers. Then her light aircraft drops out of the sky over the English countryside, a stranger's phone call saves her life, and suddenly the answers won't stop coming.

They lead her to a secretive compound on a Greek island. To people who speak about Rebecca in the present tense. And to a discovery so disturbing that Lana has to decide what she's willing to believe — about her sister, about the people claiming to help, and about herself.

For fans of Blake Crouch's Dark Matter and the creeping paranoia of The Truman Show, Model 36 is a philosophical sci-fi thriller about one woman caught between two worlds.

Well written and unique take on a classic scifi trope (spoilers!) with an interesting MC and antagonist who is presented well. I would have liked to have seen the plot extended and learn more about the end.

A good philosophical sci-fi story that makes you ponder on reality and existence.

This is the principal question:
"If, one day, you were presented with a truth that completely changes your perception of reality, would you choose to keep it to yourself or ensure that everyone else knows it too?"

This book is also appropriate for beginners to science fiction that don't like to deal with complex names and terminology.

How to write about this book in a way that convinces you it is worth the read without giving away too much? The publisher provided description doesn't do it justice - it is much better than the description! So I'll give it a go: Scifi thriller, based on earth so not full of world building description, looking at the philosophical/ethical question of what to do when you know a truth that alters reality. The beginning of the book is a little confusing as the reader doesn't know all the parts of the story yet, but the novel is fast paced with satisfying conflict and resolution and good main characters. Yeah, I can't really do a good job with description either. If you like speculative fiction or philosophical scifi or scifi thrillers, this one is worth the read.
