Izzy is a lawyer and shes good at it. good at being in control both on and off the courtroom floor. that is until she is told to manage the ever runaway mouth of Marcus. hes been saying to much about the climate in a job that doesn't want to see it never mind face it.
Marcus heats up the course, hes a star at it too. but he doesn't expect his mouthing running away with him to put him in the sites of something else that heightens his heart rate. Izzy.
we also have a brilliant character in this dog who adds his own kind of sparkle to the book. he was a standout character on his own as well as the moments we get with Izzy and her mum.
the banter between our pair was done really well. their back and forth fun. i would have liked a bit more of them acting on it though. we get alot of inside thoughts from them both. and whilst i understand the not taking the leap was for many reasons, it did mean we got alot of them not but telling us they wanted to.
i hate saying the above when it is someones debut. maybe its the F1 side of it? i dont have an affinity to that sport at all. or maybe im just having an off reader day.
i think perhaps a tad fine tuning and knowing when to break the push and pull that builds tensions might work a little better next time. although i DO want to read whats next for this author so that is a compliment on its own.
