Description
In Getting the Story: Experiences of a Travel Journalist, Patricia Woeber shares her rare adventures as she traveled the world alone. Exploring places unfamiliar to her in Africa, Asia, and Europe, she sought out every possible lead for newspaper and magazine articles. The aim of her work was to produce informative pieces that would encourage people to travel. The short stories within this memoir relate true experiences in enthralling far-off locations. A woman alone, Patricia was aware of the opportunities and occasional risks.
Patricia reflects on her successful career as a travel writer and photographer by interweaving personal anecdotes, some history, and her detailed accounts of planned and unexpected encounters. She also offers her insights into the art of the travel-writing craft.
