Where do I even begin with this review?! Every time I think about this story, my jaw slackens and my mouth just hangs open because I still don’t think I’m over the absolute whirlwind of a thriller that Cherry is! Within the opening chapters, I thought I had a rough idea of where this story would go… I’ve never been SO wrong! Twists EVERYWHERE!

The split perspectives between Ally, Isobel and Gifty works beautifully in this story. I won’t give away who’s who, but for the first few chapters, I was completely perplexed as to who Cherry was and her connection to these three women and then, Rose Wilding breadcrumbed me perfectly as a reader and, just when I though I understood the web of connection, BOOM! I was wrong!

Rose Wilding’s pacing and build-ups are masterful things. The story ebbs and flows with the precision of the dominant emotion of the scene, so you can feel your heartbeat as a reader naturally falling into the scene you’re reading. Which is why, when your heart’s steadied from one scene and gets quickened in the next, you find yourself falling into the pages and hooked.

There are not many novels I could compare Cherry to, and that’s very rare for me these days - a testament to how fantastic a concept Rose Wilding has created. This is going to be up there on my Christmas gift and Winter Reads recommendation lists for sure, because it’s a read that I’m certainly not going to forget about anytime soon!

An absolute belter of a book, gripping from start to fevered finish! Cherry tells the stories of three women, which at first seem disparate, but barrel towards a head on collision. The book had me gripped from the offset, and I finished it in a single sitting, such was the excitement of the story progression. Author Rose Wilding expertly crafts the lives and voices of the three different protagonists, and the story delves into a world of obsession, lust, and just pure love, and how these allow people to become used, deluded and even dangerous.

If Rose Wilding writes it, I'm going to read it. A twisted sapphic love story full of nostalgia, infatuation, and more than a hint of darkness. Sizzling and sensational, Cherry is the literary bomb of 2026.
