Honestly, this book was such a cute and fun read! If you’re up for a good sports romance where the FMC is the BOSS, this one is definitely for you. This book had me laughing, giggling, kicking my feet, and swooning over certain moments. The romance, banter, and spice had me completely enjoying the book from beginning to end.

This story follows Callan and Charlotte, with Callan being a player for the team Charlotte owns, and honestly, the vibes between these two were SO cute and hilarious. Especially my gurl Charlotte had me absolutely cackling. She is the perfect combination of boss and fun, and I had such an amazing time reading her inner monologues. I loved how random she was, and I absolutely loved how unapologetically herself she was. Honestly, QUEEN behaviour. I would definitely borrow her personality if I could.

And the way she was just as down bad for Callan as Callan was for her??? Yep. EXACTLY what I love in a book. Give me two characters who are completely gone for each other and I’m sold.

They kept saying it was fake. Just pretense. But that pretense was crying in the corner because WHERE was the fake in all of this??? From the beginning till the end, these two already felt like they were in love. Even though they were fake dating, it definitely felt like they were already together emotionally.

And my man Callan??? This man was SO helpful. At this point, I genuinely feel like if Charlotte asked him to marry her, he would probably say yes without even thinking twice. This man never says no 😭 And I’m assuming he didn’t say no to being completely down bad for Charlotte either because these two were fake dating minus the fake. That is exactly what it felt like reading about them.

I loved the way Callan never hesitated to be there for Charlotte, the way he defended her, and the way he loved her exactly for who she was. Their banter, cute moments, romance, and spice were all so much fun to read.

That being said, I did feel like their vulnerability and emotional depth could have been explored a little more. While I absolutely loved their personalities, I also felt like the fake-dating chemistry and tension weren’t quite there—or at least weren’t enough for me. I would have loved a little more tension and emotional buildup between them.

Overall, this was such a fun and entertaining sports romance, and I genuinely enjoyed reading it. It made me laugh, swoon, and kick my feet, and sometimes that is EXACTLY what I need from a romance. 💕
