⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I found The Tower of Beggars to be an utterly addictive start to what promises to be an incredible fantasy series. From the very first chapter I was completely invested in Niri’s journey and found myself racing through the pages well into the early hours!
Niri is exactly the kind of protagonist I love to follow she is determined, resilient, and impossible not to root for. Watching her navigate loss, prejudice, and the brutal challenges of Stormfell Academy made for a gripping and emotional read.
The academy setting was everything I hoped for: competitive, dangerous, immersive, and packed with mystery. The world building felt rich without ever becoming overwhelming, and there was always something happening to keep me hooked.
What really stood out was how effortlessly Torsten Weitze balanced action, character development, and intrigue. Every victory felt earned, every setback mattered, and I was constantly eager to see what would happen next.
This is the kind of fantasy that reminds me why I love the genre so much. A fantastic opening to a hugely promising series, and I cannot wait to continue Niri’s story.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review. 📚✨⚔️

Wow! This is an incredible story and I wish I had the next installment in my hands!

This world is like no other I have visited before. The cast of characters are so different from one another and so real. And the plight of our heroine and her driving spirit to rise above made me cheer for her every step of the way.

My thanks for the ARC. I am SO happy to have had this opportunity and I highly recommend this adventure to all who love fantasy.

an orphan with impossible odds, a brutal academy, ancient gods, political scheming, a rag tag found family and a tiny dragon. 🤍

this is pure, unadulterated epic fantasy and i absolutely adored every second of it.

this is the kind of fantasy that reminds me why i fell in love with the genre in the first place. sprawling world building, rich history, dangerous politics, ancient races and enough lore to completely disappear into without ever feeling like you’re drowning beneath it.

niri is exactly the sort of protagonist i can’t help rooting for. resilient without becoming invincible, clever without somehow always having the answer, and forced to earn every tiny victory in a world that has already decided she deserves nothing. her journey feels difficult in all the right ways.

Stormfell is equally unforgiving. prejudice, class divides and ruthless competition seep through every corridor, making it feel like surviving the academy is almost as dangerous as anything waiting beyond its walls. despite the scope of the world, the story never loses sight of its characters, and i quickly became invested in Niri’s growing circle of companions.

special mention to lil G, who instantly secured his place as one of my favourite fantasy creatures. every fantasy deserves a tiny dragon.

what impressed me most though was the confidence of the storytelling. there’s no reliance on romance to carry emotional weight or manufacture stakes. instead, it trusts its world, its characters and its adventure to do the heavy lifting, and they absolutely do.

it sits comfortably alongside Witcher in spirit. sprawling, dangerous and unapologetically fantasy. if you’re someone who misses epic fantasy simply being allowed to be epic fantasy, this absolutely deserves a place on your tbr.
