Loved it! Fans of book 1 will not be disappointed as it’s just as funny, deranged and heartwarming as the first book. Can’t wait for the 3rd book!

Well, this was an interesting one! And by interesting, I mean completely ridiculous, chaotic, and actually pretty damn funny!
Being from Florida, I have to say that some of the situations in this book had me laughing because they're not nearly as far-fetched as people might think. I've seen and heard enough over the years to know that sometimes reality is just as ridiculous as fiction!
This was my first book by Avril Grady, and apparently I decided to start with the second book in the series. Why do I do this to myself? I have no idea. But here we are.
Jamie Katz is a mess. Seriously. This man cannot seem to stay out of trouble, and half the time he's making things worse for himself. He's somehow caught up in a serial killer investigation, the police already have plenty of reasons to question his judgment, and instead of staying out of it, he decides he's going to figure things out himself. Because obviously that's a great idea, right?
I love a good murder mystery, and I especially love when an author can keep things entertaining without dragging the story out. This one definitely has its share of outrageous moments, but there's also a lot more going on beneath all that chaos. The relationships are complicated, Jamie has his own emotional baggage, and not everything is quite as funny as it first appears.
I will say that jumping into book two probably wasn't my smartest decision. There were definitely relationships and references that I think would have meant more if I'd read the first book. But I still had a really good time with this one.
It's dark, it's sarcastic, it's a little crazy, and it's definitely not your typical serial killer thriller. Some of it is so over the top that you just have to remind yourself you're reading fiction.
Overall, a really entertaining read, and now I'm curious enough to go back and see how this whole mess started!
