Description

A luminous modern parable for the holiday season, reimagining the journey of the Three Wise Men as three women’s quests for faith, hope, and love—revealing the hidden guidance, synchronicities, and miracles that shape every soul’s path.

Cross the desert, follow the star, mend the circle . . .

At Christmastime, three women from very different walks of life find themselves called to a desert beyond time and space. Imani, a powerful attorney; Jessie, a devoted physician; and Hiroshi, an acclaimed designer, each carry private burdens that leave them feeling disconnected from their true selves. When mysterious sparrows appear with a message—cross the desert, follow the star, mend the circle—they are drawn together on an extraordinary odyssey.

Guided by sacred messengers and challenged by visions, each woman must confront her deepest fears and shadows. Along the way they encounter the dying Sacred Mother, a divine feminine presence who embodies unconditional love. To heal her—and the world—they must first accept themselves, and one another, with honesty and compassion.

We Three Queens blends magical realism, New Age spiritual wisdom, and timeless holiday symbolism into an intimate story of personal transformation and a sweeping vision of humanity’s potential for unity. Profoundly hopeful, this novel offers more than a Christmas story—it is an invitation to remember our shared humanity and the love that lives within us all.

This was a unique, fascinating, beautiful read that kept me turning the pages and actually kept me up past my bedtime to finish!

It's the story of three seemingly ordinary women who are taken on a mystical journey where they are given directions to "follow the star" and "mend the circle." In the process of the journey (which is not without its pitfalls and dangers), the three women are clothed and crowned as queens.

I found it to be the story of a mystical journey on two levels- the actual physical journey through a strange and often-changing landscape, AND the individual inner journey that each of the women underwent along the way. Each woman was struggling with something in her own life at the time she was swept up into the journey. I loved watching how the journey helped to give each woman insights into what was holding her back.

I also loved the spiritual implications of the womens' journey as well as the introduction of the Divine Feminine in the form of the old woman, Sophia, who was dying. It made me realize that as women, we are ALL Queens, and that we are meant to activate the Divine Feminine within ourselves in order for Her power to become more widely known.

The writing in this story is absolutely lush, mesmerizing, rich, detailed, and so visual . . . I felt like I was right there with them in the desert, in the tent, facing the dangers, wearing the queenly robes!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher, for an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I had expected a religious type Christmas story. This was a Christmas story, but for me, more reminiscent of a Native American telling. Like most books centered around Christmas, it is one of human understanding, grace, forgiveness and love. Beautifully written, the words imprinted beautiful pictures into my brain. I was lucky enough to read the book and listen to the audio. The narration was well done and easy to understand. Thank you to NetGalley and Hays House for the complementary early audio and ebook. This review is my own opinion and not coerced in any way.
