I Know Where She Is

As the first story I requested and in turn was sent from NetGalley, I didn't really know what to expect. If anything I was worried I might be stuck with a stinker, but I needn't have fretted at all. I Know Where She Is was a rip-roaring success from cover to cover.

SB Caves manages to keep you gripped from the very first page right through to the last, which in itself is no easy task. Too many thrillers lose steam somewhere around the middle, or take too long to pick up the pace and never really get going in the end, filling your head with unnecessary back story or flowery dialogue that just doesn't get your heart racing. I Know Where She Is doesn't fall into any of these traps and it's no wonder I finished the book in just under a day. I needed to know what happened next.

Francine, as dysfunctional as she is, is a likeable and strangely warm character. You can't help but feel sympathy for her plight, she's facing every parent's worst nightmare after all. But she weathers it well, unlike ex-husband Will who dismisses Francine's hope at every given opportunity. It's Will's condescension that pushes us firmly in Francine's corner, egging her on until the very end.

Lena and Melody are the books other two 'goodies', each as damaged as the other and with very good reason. Their stories are harrowing and not easily read, but SB Caves manages to pull you back in just as soon as you think things are getting a bit too heavy. Their plight is not unlike the stories we're bombarded by in the papers on a regular basis and Caves handles the subject marvellously.

The women in this book, bar one or two, are magnificent examples of strength, courage and perseverance in the face of cruelty. The men in their lives are cold, controlling and everything that's wrong with the world. I'm not sure SB Caves set out to write such a feminist story of empowerment, but I Know Where She Is definitely screams girl power.

My only criticism? He doesn't have another novel waiting for me to indulge in right this second.

I decided to start this last night and finally finished at 3am!
I could not put it down.
The characters were realistic and the main character is likeable which is always the key to a good book.
I would definitely recommend buying this and once published will buy for my friend's birthday.

I just love this book! Although the beginning takes some time to take off, the rest of the book just fly through without you noticing. The time line is actually quite short, but the writer manages to pack it with loads of excitement. It's a tense, and gripping book. A compulsive read that has wonderful plot twists that leaves you breathless. There were times where I have to stop, as it gets too intense.
I would definitely recommend this book!

I hate to think how I would have coped had one of my children been abducted. In the beginning I was judgmental of Francine, whose daughter Autumn was abducted some 10 years prior to the start of this book. Francine coped by becoming a functioning alcoholic who regularly consults psychics. Her husband Will coped by turning his daughter's disappearance into an industry.

Fast forward, and Francine receives a hand delivered note with only the words 'I KNOW WHERE SHE IS '.

And so begins an unpredictable, and at times improbable and unbelievable, but utterly riveting roller coaster ride as Francine follows her gut instinct to try to save her daughter. Is the note a cruel hoax, or does someone really know where her daughter is?

I Know Where She Is deserves to be made into a movie. I could see it all unfolding before me as I read.

Caves leaves me in no doubt that she is an author to be watched. Her writing is dynamic. Her characters are flawed, unpredictable and all too human; her descriptions of the settings so realistic I could picture myself there.

Don't be surprised if there is a sequel; the door has been left wide open for this to happen.

Firstly I found the start of this a bit slow. Over two days I was reading the odd pages. Then I sat this afternoon and thought I better give it a chance. I'm so glad I did. The pace picked up and apart from making dinner I couldn't put it down until I'd finished it.

At the beginning we meet Francine. Her life fell apart ten years ago when her daughter went missing. She struggles each day and the only thing keeping her going is hope- hope that her daughter Autumn is still alive. Francine ex husband is no help to her. I can understand his need to move on but I really did not like him.

Francines life changes when she finds a note hand delivered to her house saying 'I know where she is'. Francine is given hope by a stranger.

So I really don't want to give too much away. This was one of them kinda reads that if it was a movie I'd be watching it behind a cushion. You know the type where you wanna see what's gonna happen but your also afraid lol

If your looking for a really well written thriller then I certainly recommend this read. If like me you find it a tad slow at the beginning keep going as it's certainly worth it. Looking forward to reading more from this author. Maybe a book two? 4.5 stars

10 years ago Autumn went missing. Francine, Autumn’s mum, has been looking for her ever since. Whilst everyone else seems to be getting on with their lives and moving on, Francine has never been able to do that. She wants to know what happened to her daughter. The desperation in this leads to Francine becoming an alcoholic who visited psychics, hoping they could provide some answers. Her marriage to Autumn’s dad, Will has broken down and he is now living with someone else. One day, Francine receives a note simply saying “I Know Where She Is”. She has no idea who sent it or what it means, but she takes it to mean that Autumn is still alive. She takes the note to Will, but he dismisses it as a hoax. A mystery stranger, Lena then turns up and tells Francine that Autumn is still alive and she knows where she is!

Now, this may be difficult to review without giving too much of the plot away. It’s obvious that Autumn is still alive, but what isn’t obvious is why she was taken all those years ago. Lena tries to provide some of these answers to Francine, and whilst she believes her when she tries to include Will on what Lena has told her, he again dismisses it as lies and insinuates that Lena is a fraud. The story unfolds quickly with Francine starting her own investigation into what happened and what is still happening now. It’s not an easy subject matter with some descriptions of child abuse and child kidnapping, but it picks up a fast pace through to a great ending!

I feel for Francine in this book, she has obviously found it difficult to move on with her life like everyone else seems to have. Her ex-husband thinks she is a clingy, depressed alcoholic. He seems to be using his daughter’s disappearance for book signings and TV appearances, obviously generating an income from this. Whilst no one, unless they have been in this situation, would know how they would behave in this situation, you would like to think that they would hold out one little thread of hope that your daughter was still alive, even after all this time. Thankfully, Francine goes with her gut instinct and does what she needs to do to find her daughter!

An excellent roller coaster of emotions with some great twists and turns. Well recommended if you love a gritty psychological thriller! Five stars!

4.5 stars. Throughly enjoyed this psychological thriller. It had me hooked from the first page and I didn't want to put it down. Would definitely recommend this book.

We have Francine and Will very much in love they have a daughter Autumn who disappears. Will goes all out to keep Autumn in the publics thoughts he does Tv interviews he writes a book and turns to counselling people who have lost children. Whereas Francine turns to the bottle unable to cope with the loss she falls to pieces but all that's about to change coming up for the 10 year anniversary of her disappearance she finds a note saying I Know Where She Is it was written by Lena who tells Francine she's being held as was Lena until she escaped. Francine immediately contacts Will who doesn't want to know he has remarried and he doesn't believe what Lena is saying.... I like the way it's written it shows how a tragedy can effect everyone differently it also shows when there's hope we get strength from within.
There are some subjects which people make not like sadly this is a fact of life in this day and age, I think it has been tackled with care and respect while still getting the point across.
Would definitely recommend it.

Gripping and twisty throughout, kept me gripped from the word go. An absolute must read!
Definitely one of the best books of it's genre that I have read this year.

It has been ten years since Autumn was taken from the supermarket and she hasn't been seen since. Her mother, Francine, lives alone and drinks to hide her pain. Her father, Will, has a new wife and a baby on the way and has made a career out of his daughter's disappearance. One day, Francine receives a note from a strange girl; it says, simply, 'I know where she is'. Autumm has been renamed Mel. She lives in a house in the woods with other girls. They are used at parties. The girl is scared: the authorities know about it and she fears for her life. Will Francine ever get her daughter back? We're about to find out.

This is a dark thriller with themes of kidnap, violence and sexual abuse. The characterisation is brilliant. All the  characters are realistic and complicated and my feelings towards them xhanged throughout the book. At times, it made for uncomfortable reading because of the themes and because it is so well-written that it feels real. The suspense is held until the very end: there were times when I was holding my breath hoping for a particular outcome. At the end, it is left as though there could be a sequel and I hope there is, because I'd like to know what happens next. Definitely one to read if you like thrillers!

It is a hard-hitting, fast-paced novel, that will have you guessing what is going to happen next. I will warn potentially squeamish readers that there are some relatively graphic scene in the book... but I just dealt with that by skim reading a few sentences here and there. It is not gratuitous and fits with the plot, as well as being important for establishing the characters and the setting, but I can be a bit soft. The book begins with Francine receiving an anonymous note that claims 'I KNOW WHERE SHE IS.' Francine's young daughter, Autumn, was kidnapped from a shopping centre a decade ago and hasn't been seen since. A failed marriage behind her and now a functioning alcoholic, Francine has never given up hope of finding her daughter alive. So begins her hunt for the truth of what really happened to Autumn.

Highly recommend this book, gripping debut thriller

I loved this book , I raced through it in less than a day ! I loved the strong women who really showed up the weak men . Francines daughter was kidnapped more than 10 years and she has never given up hope of finding her unlike her ex husband Will who has moved on with a new wife and baby on the way . Francine gets an annonymous note saying I know where she is this sets Francine on an exciting thrill of a ride as she delves deeper into what happened to her daughter . What an exciting read and I thoroughly enjoyed it , dare I hope it's been set up for a sequel

The introduction to this haunting novel left me enthralled for what lay ahead in what can only be described as a dark and troubling thriller based on a child kidnapping. It is every parents worst nightmare… the question is though, are Francine and Autumn reunited?!

Francine lives alone and drinks neat vodka as a form of coping mechanism which leads you to believe that she is a functioning alcoholic. She is obviously trying to suffocate the pain she feels inside from losing a child. Francine though is an admirable character. The extent she goes to, to try and find her daughter is painstakingly beautiful. She has been through a lot over the last ten years but she has always had hope in her heart which has kept her head above water during troubling times.

Francine receives a note through the door which she can only assume is regarding her missing daughter. Straight away her mind is drunkenly racing with possible scenarios of what this note could mean. She contacts her ex-husband – Will, who is reluctant to have anything to do with Francine anymore, but he agrees to meet with her when she mentions it is about Autumn… is Will going to be of any help to her though, or will he think she is crazy?!

I would love to write more about Autumn, the missing child, but I fear that I would give too much away by doing so. What I will say though is that she is a very strong character who has endured a lot since going missing. S. B. Caves imagination for her central characters is perfect, these could be real people she has created as they are all flawed just like every human.

What has been produced here is an exquisite novel which is easy to keep up with, exhilarating and takes you into a dark world which we all hope doesn’t truly exist. There are some tense moments which left my fingernails in a right state, and there were moments that left my heart breaking. The storyline would make a perfect film adaptation, and I think there is room for a possible sequel too (well I hope so anyway!).

Canelo Publishers and Netgalley amazingly provided me with an advanced e-copy of I Know Where She Is in return for my opinions. It is out to buy on the 14 August and I think it is definitely one you should give a read.

Exciting, fast-paced thriller. I loved the premise and the characters. It was action-packed and didn't have a dull moment. Can't wait for the next SB Caves book to come out!

I Know Where She Is opens with Francine, a functioning alcoholic who manages to exist against a backdrop of unimaginable tragedy. She has seen almost ten years go by since the disappearance of her daughter Autumn on a shopping trip. Her ex-husband has dealt with the loss very differently and their relationship has broken down. As the book progresses it becomes clear that Francine is right. Autumn is not dead. A handwritten message stating 'I know where she is' is pushed into her mailbox and this sets in motion a shocking, and gripping sequence of events where Francine is forced to draw on strengths that she had no idea were inside her. Can she save her daughter and, ultimately, herself?
I must admit that I was quite surprised by this book. It wasn't what I was expecting at all. I thought it would be more of a police procedural, crime story but instead it's an exhilarating, breathtaking adventure. It's a real rollercoaster ride and the action takes place over quite a short period of time.
I found the transformation of Francine as she does everything she can to rescue Autumn to be the most interesting part of the novel. She goes from barely coping to someone who is prepared to do whatever it takes. She's actually not the most likeable of characters. There is a brittle, unpleasant side to her which serves to make her easier to identify with, oddly. I guess it would be strange if a woman dealing with the loss of her child was able to blithely move on but Caves seems to be able to make you root for her even though you probably wouldn't want to know her.
This should have been a 'one sitting' read. It's quite short and I was forced to put it down about two thirds of the way through. It nagged at me until the next day when I could resume reading and I could read until the end. The pace of the action means that the digital pages vanish very fast.
It won't be a book for everyone as the subject matter is quite dark but it's a dynamic, exciting read and I will definitely be looking out for more books by SB Caves. I suspect there may be a sequel to this novel and I will definitely seek that out.

This was one of the most gripping books that I have read in a long time - a real page turner that I could not put down. Will be recommending to friends and family members!

This was an incredible psychological thriller with an amazing mystery twist. I loved the characters, the storyline and the ending. Fantastic read and I'd highly recommend!

I received a mysterious email from the publisher about I Know Where She Is and it totally caught my attention. I wanted to know more so I requested it on NetGalley as soon as I could.

Wow this book got under my skin! I felt invested in Francine's story almost as soon as I started reading, I wanted the same answers as she did - I wanted to know what had happened to her daughter. I think being a mother myself made the storyline even more real for me, my motherly instincts took over and I couldn't help but feel involved. This wasn't always a good thing because there were some scenes that were incredibly difficult for me to read and brought tears to my eyes. The further I read, the more sinister things became.

When the storyline switched to Autumn's perspective I felt a variety of things, mainly horror but also intrigue because by this point I had so many questions circling around my mind. What followed was uncomfortable at times and so tense but I just couldn't stop reading, waiting for the outcome that I was hoping for.

Autumn turned out to be my favourite character, she was surprisingly strong but there was also a quiet mysterious side to her which, I think, gave her a dangerous edge.

This was a disturbing but addictive read that was difficult to put down and left me desperate to know what happens next!

Francine is a mess. 10 years ago her daughter (Autumn) disappeared whilst they were out shopping. In those 10 years her husband will has divorced her and remarried and made a fortune on the back of the disappearance. Out of the blue Francine meets Lena who claims that Autumn (now known as Melody) is being held in a house in the woods along with many other girls. The house is visited by male celebrities and even the Police are involved. Francine tries to get her husband involved but he refuses to believe her story. Lena then dies and Francine starts investigating on her own. This is a story of a mothers love and determination to find her daughter whatever has happened. This is a fast paced book as the story evolves and it carries you along with it.

This was a fantastic read with brilliant characters. I was hooked from page one. I didn't expect that. Full of twists. I do hope there is more to come. It feels like there will be. 5*. Netgalley and can Elodies.

This is a very tense story right from the start. I cannot say I enjoyed it, the subject matter is simply too awful. But overall it is a really excellent read. It feels very real, and your mind tells you that this does happen, perhaps not to the scale suggested. Francine is very well written, I can imagine a mother disintegrating like this if her only child is abducted, and never found. The reactions of her husband are very understandable too. The bravery of Autumn is remarkable, but she has little choice, her life is on a knife edge.

The book does have a somewhat happy ending, but the abruptness of the end suggests there might well be a sequel. This is not a book to be read in one, at least not for a timid soul like me! I had to read two or three chapters at a time, then stop for something lighter. So the story haunted my dreams for a few nights!

I found the writing absolutely spellbinding, S B Caves is definitely a writer to watch out for.

I thought this was a really interesting read and the book is easy to follow which is a major plus. Francine's daughter was kidnapped when out shopping as a child, she has always felt autumn wasn't dead. Then one day a young girl shows up at her work telling her that her daughter is alive and is essentially a slave in a house Lena has just escaped from. Francine has to uncover a whole tangled web of lies, deceit and danger to get her daughter back. Definitely a good debut for the author. This book is a must read! It had me gripped from page 1 right through to the end and no idea as to how it was going to pan out. The story was well written and followed a good progression. I didn't think there were any parts of it that made me debate whether to carry on.

This is one of my favourite reads this year by a mile. Hard reading at times but such a fantastic story. Huge 5 stars.

This book is absolutely brilliant. I didn't know what to expect when I downloaded this. It's heartbreaking in parts, especially how they where treated by their captors. It's the best psychological thriller I have read in a while, I would love to see this on the big screen. It would be an absolute brilliant film. The ending I thought went too quickly I would have liked for just a bit more. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

This book is a real page turner. The 5 word title gripped me from the beginning as it showed a glimmer of hope for one mother who's life had been almost destroyed by every parents worse nightmare - child abductiion. Ignoring the total denial of her ex husband she carries on alone to discover the truth of what did happen to their daughter who she has always believed is still alive. The descriptive text hooked me in to almost see, feel and hear the story unfolding, albeit at times some of the action became a little unbelievable. The final chapters did not bring a finale of happy ever after that most thrillers do but left me knowing there is more to come. Roll on the sequel!

This is a real page-turner of a book, with many twists and turns keeping you on the edge of your seat.

This was a really gripping read, which completely drew me in. The story centres around the aftermath and destruction caused to a couple when their child is abducted. Seen through the eyes of Francine, it revolves round her attempt to find her missing daughter after she receives a cryptic note. Dismissed by her ex husband she goes after her daughter alone. Truly gripping.

SB Caves is on to a winner with his debut novel, a spine tingling thriller about every parents worst nightmare, it's about a young girl, Autumn and her mothers struggle to find her abducted daughter who went missing 10 years before and who she is convinced is still alive, even though every one else believes she is dead, and then one day she finds a note with 5 words on it, I know where she is. Once started I didn't want to put it down, it has a terrific pace and doesn't slow for a second. It's well worth a read.

I was gripped by this book before it even came out. I remember receiving an email from Canelo which featured a newspaper article and a short paragraph about a young girl being kidnapped and the 10th anniversary of her disappearance is slowly coming up. Immediately, I knew I wanted to get sucked up in to this book and was straight on the go for requesting it on NetGalley.

Whilst the first couple of chapters started off a little slowly, the book really began to pick up the pace and I found myself having to take little intervals to calm the nerves and stress it was causing me, because it was THAT GOOD!

We meet Francine, a mother who lost her daughter, Autumn, ten years ago. She struggles every single day of her life to accept her daughter's disappearance and move on with her life; the only thing giving her hope to live is believing that her daughter is still out there somewhere, just waiting to be found. Her ex-husband on the other hand, is ready to move on with his life. With his new wife and expected child, Francine can't help but feel that he doesn't want to get to the bottom of his daughter's disappearance and prefers his new family instead.

When Francine receives a note stating "I know where she is", the question "how far will you go for the ones you love?" becomes more serious than you could possibly imagine. No mother ever wants to go through the loss of a child, I'm not a mother myself, however, I can't imagine being put in this situation and it would completely devastate me the same way it did for Francine, I would most definitely not be able to cope if I ever lost a child. So when Francine is given the opportunity to get her daughter, back, she is willing to go all lengths and show strengths she didn't even realise she had.

This book took a turn that I was NOT expecting at all. The reason for Autumn's disappearance was absolutely sick and twisted, I found my head wanting to explode because of how angry the story-line was making me. (In a good way, because I wanted these girls to be safe). It's the roller-coaster journey of a lifetime and you will not expect the twist and turns that are about to be thrown your way. The book completely keeps you guessing and it's hard to put it down.

As I completed the book, I was pretty much speechless. I didn't know how to deal with the events that had just happened in the book and when a book makes you feel like that, then you've got a good one in your hands. I would absolutely love it if S.B. Caves brought out a sequel to this, as I feel like there's so much more that can be put in to this story and I just want to know the details of how life is going for everyone prior the disturbing scenes before them. I loved each character (excepted the ex-husband), as they all bought unique personalities to the story and being a fan of psychology, I loved trying to think why such things were happening and what caused these people to do what they did. Francine and Autumn were my favourites, they both portrayed feisty personalities, as they were both so head strong and determined in any type of situation. I really believe it's a purchase you will not regret!

A book that is written with flair to hold the readers attention throughout. A difficult subject to to recount but done with style. I found it almost impossible to put down. Congratulations to the author.

This book draws you in from the start and builds up pace and suspense. If work hadn't got in the way, this would definitely have been a read-in-one-sitting kind of book! Very absorbing and a set of varying and not necessarily likeable characters - but for reasons that you understand. My mind is obviously accustomed to dark plots now as I was expecting a far more sinister outcome but can see that the door has been left open for a sequel. I really enjoyed this book but did find that the latter chapters were a little far-fetched for me, hence an overall 4.5* rather than 5* rating. But a rattling good read and one I'll be recommending

I Know Where She Is by SB Caves was a thriller about Lena who was trying to find her young daughter who had gone missing almost a decade before. I enjoyed this book, it was fast paced and I could not put it down and read it in one day. The subject matter is not for the faint hearted. Really enjoyed reading this book - one of those you want to know what the next chapter brings. I really felt for Autumn's mother and then once Autumn was introduced into the book for her too.

This book really got under my skin! I was invested in the story from the word go - started at breakfast, unfortunately work got in the way but as soon as I got home I had to finish it -up till 2am!! Francine is a very real character - we see the effects losing her daughter had on her and how it has affected her life for the past 10 years. And when she gets a message saying "I know where she is", will anyone believe her? And will she get her daughter back? With current stories of widespread corporate child abuse nowadays nothing about this story couldn't happen, and yet it was so awful that reading it was like watching a horror film with my hands over my eyes. I had to know what happened, and yet I was afraid to. Brilliant suspense writing, showing the far reaching effects of a mother's love.

oh my god, this was such an intense read. all the emotions in it are so strong. from Francine and Will's guilt and sometimes subtle, other times outright self-loathing.
Autumn is probably one of the most strongest characters I have ever read about, her single mindedness is commendable, and her bravery beyond words.
This novel takes every woman's worst nightmare and turns it into a waking reality, whilst emphasising just how far one woman will go in the name for the love of her child.
it is thrilling, and addictive. I read it in one sitting, just could not put it down.

I'm going to skip to the end here and say that this better be the first book in at least a series of two, or I'm not going to be happy! It's left open as if it is, but that isn't to say that ''I Know Where She Is'' isn't complete - it is, don't panic! And it's good!

I was plunged right into the world of Francine, the alcohol-dependant mother of the lost/abducted Autumn who has been missing for 10 years. At first I was a bit unsure how it was going to play out with Francine rather than the police on the search for Autumn, but (despite the extraordinary luck she had) it worked pretty well. The lack of police involvement is explained quite believably, and though it does miss that authority involvement and discussion, I was always willing Francine to succeed.

The story is controlled well with the novel being split into three parts; the switch between the first two in particular being really successful in their joining and their ability to shock. The story did have echoes of relatively contemporary and despicable crimes though on a (hopefully) exaggerated scale; which in turn meant that the whole plotline was also believable.

The writing is fluent and it is an easy read which I managed to finish in a day. Oh I almost forgot to mention the fact that I didn't like Francine's ex-husband Will, I got a bad vibe from him for some reason!

Anyway, ''I Know Where She Is'' is a good, enjoyable story (which hopefully will lead to another). If you like a good crime thriller this is definitely worth a read.

The first thing that I noticed about this book was the front cover of the book. You can tell that it is a thriller and the name of the book pops out. The synopsis of the book was also very interesting to me and I had no idea how the book would go once I started reading it.


You meet Francine, Autumn’s mother, who has never given up on the search for her daughter despite it being 10 years. She arrives home to find a note on the floor which says “I know where she is”, there is no return address, name or contact details from whoever has left this note, but immediately, Francine knows this is about her daughter, and contacts her ex-husband about the discovery. However he writes off this discovery as the work of trolls and tells Francine he won't help.



Francine doesn't give up hoping to find her daughter and meets Lena a short while later who tells her about a girl called Mel. Francine is convinced Mel is her daughter and takes Lena in to find out all the information she can so that she can get back her daughter. There are however many obstacles as Lena isn't exactly mentally stable and she is alone as her ex-husband refuses to help.


We learn soon after what has happened to Autumn and why she was abducted and how she is still alive. I didn't expect the book to take this turn in the subject of what happened to her, but the book kept you on your toes switching in the parts of characters so you learn more about what is happening to them and their view points.


Overall, you're rooting for Francine to get her daughter back as you can see that she will do whatever it takes to get her back, even if it means killing people! The book ends with the whole family being reunited and Francine's plan for the future; even though she is reunited with Autumn, the danger isn't over and I could see the story possibly carrying on into another book. I'd recommend this book if you like thrillers!

When I picked up this book I had no idea I was about to be thrown head first into an action packed, utterly gripping, edge-of-your-seat ride. There’s no gentle introduction – right from the beginning this is high tension reading, with dramatic, explosive scenes coming one after the other at breakneck speed.

The book starts at the approach to the 10 year anniversary of Francine’s daughter’s disappearance. Francine is a mess – drinking to excess then overexercising to counteract the damage. Her fragility and brittleness transcends from the page, and with the help of her aloof, distant and exasperated ex husband, it’s unclear how reliable she is. When first the letter and then the strange and disturbing Lena appear, I had no idea if this was a trick, a desperate delusion or in fact real.

As Francine discovers more about Autumn’s disappearance and the intervening years, a sense of dread and horror settled over me. There’s some disturbing and upsetting themes covered, and I was physically shaken at some of the scenes. This book is pretty dark – more so than I originally anticipated. Yet there’s a sense of determination, unbreakable spirit and a fight for survival throughout, which had me gripped and praying for a positive resolution.

What I really liked about this book was the developement of Francine, from broken and unstable to quite frankly, kick ass. Yes, there’s quite a lot of suspension of belief needed here (for reasons I can’t really go into to avoid giving away spoilers) but the action scenes towards the end literally had me holding my breath. I thought I’d worked out another big secret, which I expected to be revealed at the end and was surprised when the book petered out much more quietly than I expected. I may have misread the hints, but it just felt slightly unfinished and could have done with a little more closure in my opinion. Overall though, this is a gut-punching, fast paced read which I couldn’t put down. I’d definitely read more by this author in future.

I am really pleased to be part of the blog tour for this book, as part of the Canelo tour. Firstly, I do love the unreliable narrator type of thriller books, which I assumed this was, but it is so much more. I did gender stereotype the author too, as I assumed that the writer was in fact a woman. The reason why I thought this was because of the main character, Francine. The best part of this book is her transformation. At the beginning of the book she is just how you imagine a mother with a missing child to be: broken, abusive and abusing, isolated, alone. By the end of the book she is so much more, and I assumed the writer was a woman because of the way he portrayed just what a mother will go through, inflict and endure to get her child back. This book is dark, and delicious . I loved it - 5 stars from me.  It's only 99p right now, so I would grab it while you can, and delve in.

I Know Where She Is was a brilliant and captivating read. A mother dealing with the grief and guilt of losing her daughter Autumn, Francine holds on to some glimmer go hope that she is still alive. Yet she wasn't prepared for an inconspicuous letter to lead her in pursuit of her daughter. Francine uncovers a web of child abuse that is deeply embedded within the higher echelons of society, muddying her hunt for Autumn.

A tale that should be filled with woe and sorrow, instead shows courage, determination and the strength of a mother's love.

I was instantly hooked and devoured it in one sitting. I would highly recommend this book!

Fantastic story full of unexpected twists and turns. This was an original storyline for me and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.

One day Francine and Will's little girl, Autumn, is kidnapped and taken to a house deep in the woods.

Fast-forward 10 years and Francine and Will are now divorced living separate lives when one day Francine receives a letter in the mail saying "I know where she is". A strange girl then turns up telling an unbelievable story on how Autumn, now known as Mel, is still alive and captive in a house with lots more girls. Could it really be true? Is her little girl still alive? Will doesn't believe her so Francine goes off on her own rescue mission.

What follows is a heartbreaking story of love and what a mother would do to find her child. I found the story fast-paced and tense. The writing was descriptive and put me on edge and I read this book in one sitting.

Wow! I was hooked from the first page of this book.
The story starts with a broken family whose daughter disappeared 10 years previously and becomes a thrilling,exciting discovery of crime and secrets. The characters and their actions were written so well - I could imagine them in my mind perfectly as if in a film.
I was disappointed when it ended!

From start to finish this book kept me gripped. A horrifying story of a child sex ring and a mother who would do anything to rescue her stolen daughter. So well written and descriptive you can almost feel you are in the book. Thanks for the great read.

I read a lot of books. I started this one late at night and it got into my head! I dreamt about it! Probably being a mother and knowing that I would do anything to get my children back! Well written and left open, I really enjoyed this.

I found this book to be gripping, a page turner that left me wanting more. The book is set in parts and part one tells of the pain and suffering of Francine a mum whose daughter went missing 10 years before. Her ex husband has moved on and remarried, but Francine just can't and drinks to numb her pain. Unexpectedly she gets a mysterious message saying I know where she is. Believing she is finally going to get her Autumn back she goes to show Will who isn't interested at all. Next comes Lena who tells Francine she has been living with Autumn in a big house in the woods held with lots of other kidnapped girls too. Part two gives you Autumn's side of the story. And then the last part tells what happens next. No spoilers just read for yourself you won't be disappointed.

Oh my goodness this was so NOT what I was expecting but in a good way so don’t worry! From the moment Francine got that anonymous letter through her letterbox, I was hooked! Do be warned that although this hard hitting thriller does contain scenes that some people may find upsetting, it will also hold you hostage to its powerful story of a mother determined to bring her daughter home.

And Francine is very much on her own in her quest to find out what happened to Autumn 10 years ago and whether or not that letter is another hoax. Her husband has moved on with his life, not believing or trusting his alcohol soaked ex wife and certainly not willing to go along with any of the propositions she has for a new search for their missing child. And although Francine isn’t the most reliable or likeable character at the start, she comes alive again when she realises there’s a real chance Autumn is still out there. Will, her ex husband, was an uninspiring figure and I knew straight away that Francine would be far better off without his support anyway.

This storyline would actually work really well as a film! It had a visual feel and a similar vibe to other action films I’ve seen recently-it actually reminded me of Taken at times with Francine as a female Liam Neeson! Her grit and determination shine through the narrative and I was behind her 100%, cheering her on every step of her journey to reclaim not just her daughters freedom but to take back her own life too.

Do be aware that this book cover themes of child abduction and abuse which some may feel is handled too deeply at times. There was one scene where I thought I might have to put the book aside for a bit as I found it hard to read, but the subject is handled so well in this authors hands that everything existing within the plot was needed to enhance the sheer horror of the situation. And once you find out more, you will begin to see how the full extent of the years of horrific abuse has shaped its victims.

This is a clever, fast paced and gripping thriller, brought to life by a truly outstanding lead character who never gives up. And I’m still feeling goosebumps after that final chapter!! A really creepy and intriguing ending that just surprised the hell out of me, keeping me on my toes till the final word of that final page. I can’t wait to see where S.B Caves goes from here with an imagination like that!

I Know Where She Is is the debut novel from S. B. Caves. I’d already taken part in one blog tour for a Canelo thriller this year so when I was asked if I’d like to take part in this one I jumped at the chance, and it didn’t disappoint. Now I have the slightly unenviable task of reviewing this wonderful book without spoiling it for any of you. The less you know going into this book the better, so apologies this review is short, but you’ll thank me once you’ve read the book and been able to experience each twist and turn for yourself.

I Know Where She Is tells the story of Francine, a mother still trying to deal with the kidnapping of her daughter many years ago. Francine is a character that grew on me as the story went on, I definitely felt sympathy for her from the beginning but it took a little while for the empathy to kick in, probably because I’m not a mother myself. Over the course of the book we’re introduced to a number of characters, who I won’t go into in any detail but include Will, Francine’s ex husband, and the author of the mysterious note.

There is no denying that I Know Where She Is is a dark and disturbing book, as we learn more about the kidnapping the book covers some difficult topics. It truly is a credit to S.B. Caves that in places this book was so hard to read, the writing creates a world so realistic I wouldn’t be surprised if I’d woken up this morning to read the story in the newspaper. At the same time he creates a suspense that keeps the reader turning pages, desperate to find out more, he kept me second guessing my opinions on all of the characters, were they good, should I be on their side? or are they actually involved in some way? I was genuinely questioning one character in particular right up until the last page.

Would I Recommend?

Yes! I Know Where She Is is a fantastic debut from S.B. Caves, it’s suspenseful, it’s dark, it deals with particularly current topics and it will keep you up wondering what’s going to happen in the end. If I have any issues with the book it’s that it ended where it did, you’ll understand when you get there! I just hope that S.B. Caves has a follow up in him!

I absolutely loved this book from start to finish, I was hooked after the first few pages. It was fast paced, interesting and gripping. I want more!

Wow one of those books i just couldnt put down, the story of a mothers search for her abducted daughter with plenty of excitement and action. Some references to the abuse suffered but not to descriptive which I found good. I hope there is another book to follow as I feel there should be more to come and questions that still need to be answered.

This was certainly a gripping read and one which was fast-paced and hard to put down. It's always intriguing when you are reading and wondering how on earth things can be resolved. At times some of the subject matter was uncomfortable. I'm not sure about how I feel about the ending and wonder whether there will be a sequel. Certainly a good psychological thriller, which keeps you thinking!

If you happened to watch The Missing then this is the book for you. It is written from two perspectives one the mother Francine who took her eyes off her little girl for a minute and she was gone. And also from the girls who have been taken.
The author of this fast paced novel almost makes you feel a part of the story and a mother's Instinct to never give up on her daughter
I simply couldn't put it down I read it in one long go because very chapter left you on the edge of a cliff (metaphorically speaking) and I needed to know what was going to happen next

I thoroughly enjoyed this book really well written and a good story line. This book didn't disappoint, it was gritty and full of twists and turns that kept me turning the pages and wanting more. I had a real job putting this one down. A solid 5 star read.

Well that was a traumatic read. At one point I found the subject matter quite disturbing and put the book down thinking I couldn't read anymore. I picked it back up again...I was hooked and I had to find out what happened next.
I'm not going to say anymore about the story,the synopsis says enough. The book was fast paced,never a dull moment.
Francine,the mother shows us the power of a mother's love. Her belief that her daughter Autumn is still alive after ten years and the feeling that she can feel her near is so powerful.
I found the disturbing parts a bit unbelievable but who knows what goes on in some parts of the world, there are many people with strange ideas of right and wrong.
Most of the book had me on the edge of my seat,biting my nails and unable to stop reading. Although I couldn't read it in bed as it would have kept me awake all night.
What a great debut novel but why isn't it out in paperback? I think it will be,must be soon.
I'm actually a wimp when it comes to reading thrillers or tense stories so I'm pleased I got to the end of this book. I have a question for the author if he reads this, " We know this story is not over so can we please have a sequel?" Give me another year and I will have plucked up courage to read it.

Oh my god what a brilliant book. It had me gripped from the first page the plot is totally amazing and you are always kept wondering right to the very last page if mother and daughter survive. They have both been through so much and you really want everything to work out for them both.

What I would love is maybe another part to let us know what happens to them and what has happened to the other girls do they escape? What happens in the future it could be a great series.
This book is written brilliantly and the description really draws you in to the feel and setting of the story you feel their pain,heartache the fight to stay alive and to be together again as a family.
So brilliantly written I could not put it down I had to keep reading to see what was going to happen next.

It also had me thinking about the book long after I had finished the book which a lot of books do not do. I stayed up late in to the night to read it in one sitting a brilliant book

I have been drawn to I Know Where She Is since the first time I heard about it. The stunning colour scheme of the cover, the eerie lone figure in the woods and the blurb captured my imagination. Did it live up to my expectations? Yes, it sure did! Not quite what I was anticipating but nevertheless a gripping story. It is a lot darker and intense and due to the nature of some of the content I feel I have to give a *trigger warning for alcohol, rape and child abuse. Having said that the author takes a very difficult subject and makes it addictive reading. It’s my first encounter with S.B. Caves and I was impressed.

It’s every parents’ nightmare, your child goes missing. Ten years after the abduction of Autumn her mother Francine has sunk into a world of booze, her father Will has met another woman and is expecting a new baby .. the loss of Autumn tore the family apart. Her mother never gave up hope of finding her, Will seemed to shun the positivity and hope as a crazy notion.

When Francine receives a hand scribbled note ‘I Know Where She Is’ her hopes are raised again and when she meets Lena who claims to know where Autumn is a whole roller-coaster ride begins.

I had a variety of feelings towards the characters, Will was a complete jerk not a good advert for the male race or fatherhood! Francine fluctuated between a distraught lush and a jet-propelled woman on a mission. Lena annoyed me but she was totally believable considering her situation.

The whole plot-line kept me hooked, there are some parts that make for uncomfortable reading so not for anyone of a sensitive nature but if you like your thrillers dark and realistic then this is for you. I certainly don’t want to give any clues away the ending satisfied me but I sincerely hope there will be a follow on book because the story still has lots of potential.

Don't pick up this book if you don't have enough free time to finish the book or you are exceptionally good at multitasking. I could literally not put this book down, luckily enough it is an easy read. Suspense from page one! I highly recommend this book.

I was fully engaged with this book from the beginning. Ten years after her daughter was abducted she received a note saying "I know where she is". And so began the story of a mother's love for her child and her undying belief that she was still alive. The twists and turns of the story were riveting. Who could she turn to for help to find her daughter. This was a thrilling read and one I found difficult to put down. Remarkable story telling bringing the characters to life and keeping me on the edge of my seat. Brilliant.

I Know Where she is, is a brilliantly executed thriller. The book opens straight into the action, there is no build up, and this works perfectly, getting you involved from the very beginning.

S.B. Caves took me in a direction I wasn’t expecting, and into a dark seedy criminal world, one that goes on behind closed doors, and hidden well from society.

Francine is a woman on the edge. She has lived with the pain, hurt, anguish, and guilt over her daughter’s disappearance for the past ten years. She has clung onto hope for so long, that when Lena turns up, she wants to disbelieve her, but knows deep down that what Lena is telling her is the truth.

Lena, is a very mixed up young woman, who came across much younger than she was. Even though she was a victim, I did find it hard to warm to her. I don’t know why, there was just something about her that bugged me.

The subject matter might not be something everyone will be comfortable will, but it was handled delicately, and although you knew what these young women were going through, it was never pushed in your face, or explicitly explained.

My only concern is how it ended. I was hoping for something more, but it ended quite abruptly. Though there was talk of the future, I’m not sure if there would be scope for a sequel.

If you are after a fast paced, dark, gritty thriller, that will hook you from the first page and have you eagerly rushing through it, then this book is perfect. It definitely won’t disappoint.

Ten years ago Autumn was taken from the supermarket while out with her mother Francine, and she is still struggling to come to terms with the disappearance. Her ex husband dealt with this differently, has moved on with a new wife and has made a fortune on the back of her disappearance but Francine still believes Autumn is still alive. And she is!!!!
A great story and well deserving of five stars.

Autumn was kidnapped 10 years earlier and the stress of trying to find her took its toll on her parents who divorced. One day her mother Francine, found a note through her door saying briefly and to the point, 'I know where she is'. Many times Francine had previously been the victim of cruel hoaxes so why was this message any different?
Would Francine find her daughter alive? Or was it far too late to believe she could have survived. Her ex-husband Will seemed more interested in his new life than helping Francine with what he deemed a pointless and fruitless task after so long. This fast paced page turner of a book delivered a tense, gritty and quite disconcerting story but one which I found thoroughly absorbing.

This book drew me in from the first page and didn't let go until the last.
It is a well written fast paced thriller that I couldn't put down, in fact I read it in one day! S.B Caves is a new author to me and I will certainly looking out for more from this author.

This book had all the elements of a fast paced, exciting thriller from the first page to the last. Definitely a good, thought provoking read, the details of which are, sadly, not so far fetched.

I loved this book; I completely immersed myself in it, suspended my disbelief and enjoyed one hell of a ride. It is dark, disturbing and very twisted.

Francine is the mother whose daughter was abducted 10 years previously. She has split from her husband, who has moved on in spectacular fashion and reaped the financial rewards of healing after his loss. She is a borderline alcoholic and has no social life to speak of, but she is driven and determined to find her daughter.

Francine is thrown into an adrenaline fuelled race to get to her daughter before her captors realise she is on to them. Despicable people are introduced and a horrific scenario is described. Francine never falters though, and it becomes evident that her daughter is a chip off the old block and equally determined and mentally strong. As the book progressed and the suspense and terror escalated I found myself having to remember to breathe!

The book ends with a resolution of sorts, but I hope that this is developed into a series. I will definitely be looking out for further books my S.B. Caves.

This was a gripping read, I had to force myself to put it down. Francine's daughter was kidnapped 10 years ago while shopping. As a mother myself I cant imagine how you live with that day in and day out. Francine is coping the best way she can. When one day she gets a note through her door. Saying "I know where she is". Not knowing what to do, Francine calls her ex husband up. Will doesn't believes its just a prank, as its coming up to the 10th anniversary. The next day Francine notices a suspicious young girl hanging around her car. Francine rushes out to find out whats going on. Only to be asked did you get my note? The girl tells Francine her name is Lena and that she has been with Autumn or as she is now know Mel. She says they are trapped in a house in the woods by very bad people. You can't go to the police as they will just cover it up. Francine is prepared to take matters in her own hands. Do things she never thought she was capable of to get her daughter back.

Brilliant. I read this book in one sitting. I could not put it down. There is suspense from the start right up to the last page. Francine's daughter, Autumn was kidnapped 10 years ago. A girl called Lena puts a note through her letterbox telling that she know where Autumn is. This is the start of the rollercoaster of Francine's search for her daughter. The plot has been well thought out and some of the detail is horrific. This all makes this book a really good read which I thoroughly recommend. I hope there is a sequel.

This book left me gasping for breath! Unexpected, fast paced, horribly believable, I was with the protagonist, Francine, all the way! From her frustrating meetings with her ex husband, to the exciting finale, I loved every moment.
Not an easy read, at times, but never tedious, and certainly never predictable.
I recommend it wholeheartedly.

Fascinating story and told from different characters perspective. Had me enthralled to the final flourish and finale.

It's a great book, a fantastic page turner and I'd recommend it anyone who likes a good mystery!
You can't help but feel emotionally invested in the characters which for me is a really really good sign for a book. More so when you don't realised until you are travelling on a roller coaster of feelings as you read.

I really enjoyed this book, it takes you straight in to the action and doesn't let up. Unlike many thrillers I actually enjoyed the second half of the book more than the first and was surprised to learn that this is a debut novel, the author seemed incredibly adept at building tension and creating a true page turner, I cannot wait to see what is next from S.B. Caves - 5 stars!!!

Thank you for allowing me to read this very well written book, I wasn't sure at the beginning as it tackles child abduction but I must admit that once I started reading it I could not put it down and went on to read it all in a day. I loved the strong characters also you could not predict what would happen so throwing up a few surprises. Even though the ending was all tied up and good there is room for a follow on which I think would be really good. Will be looking out for more from this author.

Great book by a new author to me.
After 10 years, Francine is still looking for her daughter who went missing when she was 8.
Her ex husband doesn't believe that Autumn is still alive, and has moved on with his life, and Francine is slowly drinking her her grief. She hasn't given up and never will, in looking for her daughter.
She receives a strange note, and then meets a strange girl claiming to know Autumn and claims to have run away from their captors.
What then happens keeps you hooked into finding out if it is true, and Autumn is aluve.
I really enjoyed this book. Didn't want the story to end and I hope their will be a second story soon.

I know where she is, literally had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through.
So many twists and turns it had me second guessing myself over and over.
It's fast paced, Gripping, highly addictive, Thrilling and just a bit shocking.

Be prepared once you start this book you will not put it down till the very end!

 Francine and Will's Daughter Autumn went missing 10years ago when she was little.
10years later Francine received a letter through her door....saying ' I know where she is'

Francine and Will have divorced as Francine was drinking and went into depression.
The grief was just too much for them both so they split up.
So when she takes the letter to Will he tells her she's been pranked and she should just go home!

Francine has never given up looking for Autumn and she is convinced the letter is real.

What happens next will turn Francine's life upside down!
She is in for one hell of a ride, and she's not about to let ANYTHING or ANYONE get in her way!

Believe me when I say this story will literally keep you guessing.
Uncovering horrific truths, Scandal, heartbreaking scenes, this story has it all.

Although there are a few graphic scenes, there is also a theme of torture and sexual abuse which some may find distressing.
Although these topics do feature within the story it is handelled with sensitivity.

I adored Francine her Raw Maternal instinct was almost Carnal at times and I admired her determination and her ability to never give up!
 I can Definetly see Mothers & Women being able to relate to her sheer strength and her ability to do whatever it took to find her daughter.

For me I disliked Will. He has moved on with his life. He's new wife is pregnant and he tries to keep that part of he's life locked away.
I hated how he treated Francine.
Yes she came across as a mad women at times and her drinking didn't help.
But a Mother's instinct is always right!!
He shunned her and made her feel like she was crazy. Even when she had evidence of the letter he dismissed her.
He actually infuriated me!

The story did sometimes come across a little far fetched at times, but I loved it all the more because of that.
It stretched your imagination and really made you envision the events unfolding.
But to be honest this story could well become true. There has been cases where this kind of thing has gone on.

I loved the ending. But i wanted more. I do hope there is another book as I want more answers!

I really do urge you to read this book.
It really will keep you hooked and guessing till the early hours.

I highly recommend this book to readers who love Fast Paced Thrillers, Physiological theme, Highly Addictive books, Very Gripping, and Enjoy Twists.

Took a while for me to get into but once I did, I was hooked.
Hard to read in places due to extreme abuse, this storyline was shocking and heart rending at the same time.
I never really took to Francine but her character was well written and the plot moved along at a reasonable pace culminating in an edge of your seat ending.
Well worth a read.

This is a gripping and somewhat unsettling novel. It is horrific in parts and may not be for everyone. The characters are very well drawn and the subject matter, although horrifying, is unfortunately totally believable. I couldn't put the book down.

The fact that the book I read before this one was centred around the same crime—paedophilia/sexual abuse/torture—(not intentional, incidentally…I had no idea before I started either book!)—may suggest that it’s a slightly overdone story line...perhaps.

However, that said, for a debut novel, this is quite an explosive burst onto the literary scene for this author.

Ten years after Francine’s daughter's (Autumn) abduction, she receives a note saying quite simply: I know where she is. The note’s author, Lena, makes herself known to Francine shortly after and tells her she does indeed know where Autumn is. Clinging on to that last vestige of hope that her daughter is still alive, Francine, armed with vague snippets of information from Lena, does things she’d probably only ever seen in movies to try and find her daughter. But a mother will do anything, anything for her child.

It's all a bit ‘convenient’, there are no real intricacies in the plot, there are some plausibility issues, and the story lacks a bit of padding. It isn’t a long book, but I think its conciseness is at the expense of some finer details. The ending is a little hurried and abrupt. But, but, but...for all that, this was a very well-written, gripping—albeit dark, unsettling, disturbing—and compelling story and certainly had me glued to the pages from start to finish.

An excellent start for this author, and I’ll certainly be looking out for his future novels.

The book has a very disturbing plot line and can occasionally make for some uncomfortable reading. However, it is very difficult to put down after the first few well written pages.
Sadly, paedophilia is too prevalent in the Western world, as well as in some parts of the Middle East. The plot is very pertinent given the level of fairly recent convictions of celebrity serial paedophiles and the untold thousands of young sex slaves.being abused and tortured by ISIS.
The author does not shirk from writing quite graphic detail. The level of intensity and shock as the story develops, makes the reader overlook the improbability of some of the events.
My cynical side couldn't help thinking that the author is targeting getting the book made into a movie. It would would certainly make a good screen play. The ending certainly reinforces my view!

A really good thriller of a book which I found deeply disturbing yet couldn't help turning the pages to find out what was going to happen.

Francine, a mother whose daughter was abducted almost 10 years ago. She has never stopped looking or hoping that she will find her.
Will, a father who has seemingly moved on, given up all hope of finding his daughter alive. Yet he is still using the publicity of the abduction to forge his career.

Lena, a girl like Autumn who has managed to escape, finding Francine. Is she as innocent as she seems, or has she lost her sanity and using Francine for her own agenda?
You'll have to read on to find out.
A story, that holds you from the first page, to the last, never once losing its momentum. Covering a situation that is so difficult to read, yet written with an understanding and maturity that anyone reading the book will appreciate.
The story, the characters, will draw you in until you reach the end and will leave you wanting to read more.

Excellently written book with what is at its core a tough storyline. Descriptive, eeery, heart breaking at times and female heroines what's not to enjoy!

The cover had me intrigued from the start. After reading the first few pages I was deeply absorbed into the story. It's one of those you want to read in one sitting. A mother's fight for her daughter is one of the strongest bonds and the author shows this between Francine and Autumn. The fight for survival against all odds is possible.

A totally different kind of thriller than the usual ones I would read. Uncomfortable to read at times which also made it at little bit unrealistic too. However the story does have you gripped and is told in three parts. All parts just as good as the other. You can't help but feel sorry for Francine who lost her daughter 10 years previously. Excellent writing that has you gripped from start to finish.

S.B. Caves is certainly a new name to me in the mystery/thriller department but I do hope this is not his first and only book. The book intrigued me and pulled me in from the first few chapters and although it was a little slow to start it picked up and became a fast-paced read. My love for crime novels means I am always seeking out new books from both authors known to me and also those who are new to the scene. In this case, the publisher was kind enough to allow me a copy to read and review.

The book focuses on Francine whose daughter Autumn has been missing for ten years - she does not know whether she is alive or dead - which as a mother must be horrifying. The first chapter begins with Francine receiving a hand delivered note in an envelope which reads - I KNOW WHERE SHE IS. Francine doesn't know whether to dismiss it as a sick prank or to take it at face value.

The next day a strange looking young woman approaches her claiming to have posted the note. Francine wants to label it as a cruel joke and forget about it for her own sanity but there's just one problem - this young girl knows things that only Autumn would know.

It then becomes clear that the only way Francine will learn the truth about her daughters kidnapping is by travelling to dark places. She will discover that danger comes from unexpected sources and she will do things she never thought she was capable of... but will she get Autumn back or is too late? Is the note genuine or is it just a horrible hoax?

This is a well written and immaculately paced debut novel that is truly gripping. It is definitely worth reading if you are a fan of a good thriller. it's best that you find an afternoon to set aside to read this as once you get into it it is difficult to put down. The need to find out whether Autumn is alive or dead and what actually happened to her keeps you turning those pages!

I wouldn't hesistate to read another of the authors novels in the future. A riveting and unpredictable roller coaster ride. I would not be surprised if there was a sequel as the door has been left wide open for this, if there is I would definitely read it. There is no doubt in my mind that this is an author to watch for the future. This is truly worthy of 5-stars - it is an amazing read!

Great book, with interesting women characters - victims turned avengers

I found this book very hard to put down. The pace is good, the plot is good, I felt that some of the characters are hard to believe and that the extent of the conspiracy (Francine was warned that the police were in on the plot) is over the top, BUT it is still a damn good read!

This is one of those books that hooks you from the very beginning. And holds onto you firmly. I didn't dare start it until I knew I could just sit and read it in one long fabulous read-a-thon. It was well worth it.
The story was strong (like the women) and the turns and turns enough to make you want to read faster, to see what happened next, and slower to savour it.

This was an amazing story of a paedophile ring of massive proportions. The courage and conviction of one mother and two of the girls help to bring about its' downfall. Unfortunately this does happen in real life and very rarely are the perpetrators brought to justice. What an indictment of a "civilised" world and very brave of the author to write about it.

Wow, where do I begin? If you are not hooked after the first few chapters then what is wrong with you? I simply can not put into words how amazing this book is and would recommend it to everyone who loves a book that is thrilling, intense, dark and gripping.

There are a lot of 'missing person' books around, but this one is a cut above most others. The intriguing twists and great writing meant I literally couldn't put it down.

This book had me gripped from the beginning. I could relate as a Mother to the main character and rooted for her. There were enough twists and turns to keep me reading way past the time I should have been asleep. I would highly recommend this thriller.

A rip roaring ride with suspense throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and feel there maybe a sequel coming - if so, then I'd love to read it. It's so refreshing to have a strong female fighter - it could so easily have been both parents, but I appreciate that the author chose to have a fierce female protagonist (actually, two fierce female protagonists). A thoroughly well deserved 5 stars

Francine’s daughter went missing leaving her parents devastated.

10 years later with no leads or clues Francine finds a note on her doorstep saying: ‘I know where she is’. Francine fines herself plunged into every mother’s nightmare in a race to save her daughter. To be fair to Francine I did come to believe that she had been preparing herself at least physically for this race and she stepped up to the mark when she needed to. Go Francine!

I cannot believe this is a debut novel as its brilliant. It takes you through the dark underbelly of society and leaves no holds barred. The story is horrid, explicit and terrifying. There has to be sequel – it just can’t be left hanging there I have to know what happens next.

Do yourself a favour lock the door, switch off your phone and be prepared for a rough ride of it.

Francine receives this message ten years after her daughter, Autumn Cooper-Wright, went missing and no amount of searching ever turned up a clue. Francine descended into an alcoholic haze, she and her husband, Will, divorced and only recently has she begun to get herself put back together. Francine frantically calls her husband for a meet, but he's moved on, has a new wife and is expecting a child, and he thinks it's just a prank. When Francine meets 18-year-old Lena out by her car next to her job place the next day, she's not convinced that Lena is anything but a cruel joke when Lena says she knows Autumn -- whom she knows as Melody. And, Lena says that Autumn is still alive. Lena only begins to believe it when Lena tells her things that make her blood run cold.

As messed up and unstable as Francine appears at first, she pulls herself together quickly and is off on a mission to rescue her daughter from unspeakable circumstances. NO SPOILERS, but the situation Autumn is in is horrible and one that no parent wants to imagine. The book really takes off after this and ratchets toward a spectacular, if somewhat unbelievable, climax. The narrative is well-paced and tension builds as Francine seeks to find and regain her daughter. Francine changes into something approaching Super Woman before the reader's eyes and the transformation is necessary considering what she is up against. Can she rescue Autumn when there is no one to turn to for help?

This was quite the unexpected thrill read for me as I had not anticipated the direction it was going. I enjoyed it as the pages flew by. As others have said, set aside a block of time as this begs to be read in a single sitting.

I struggled a bit with this book in the beginning. I did not like Lena at all as a character and I felt that Francine was a bit too trusting at times.
I got a lot more involved the further along I got in this book! I can highly recommend it!

A great thriller! S.B. Caves does a wonderful job crafting a story that draws the reader in. 'I Know Where She Is' is broken into 3 parts - that move the story along nicely. I loved the first two parts, but had to take off one star because the ending felt a bit rush to me. Overall, a great read that I recommend to anyone who has made it this far into my review :)

I loved everything about this book. The main character Francine because she never quit even when the odds were against her; Autumn because she took the worst possible situation ever and drew strength from it and came out as quite the badass heroine!
There wasn’t a slow or boring part in the book. I am so beyond glad I got to read this. It was so good I finished it in one day. Yes, the subject matter is dark and depressing and hits a few nerves, but you will root for these women like they are your own best friends!

This was a rather fast paced story, read it in just a few hours. Subject t matter is not easy to read but makes the reader want to see what happens to the girls. I enjoyed this mystery and would read more from this author. Thank you netgalley for the opportunity to read this.

Absolutely amazing. One of those thrillers that keeps you looking one way and then bam you go somewhere else. Very suspenseful, and truly hard to put down. Really look forward to more by this author.

Basically what it boils down to is how far would you go to find your missing child & what would you do to save her? As dark as this book was I really enjoyed it. Great book ! A kidnapped child and how it affect the lives of everyone involved. How much strength the mother had to over come her demons and have faith . As they say, never give up !

This book kept me on the edge of my seat (or in my case bed). While some of the content is a little disturbing; it does not take away from the writing or overall novel. I've never lost a child; so I am not sure how would effect me; but the ex husband is annoying. That he could and would just give up all hope when presented with the information that his daughter may still be alive. The main character is likeable and determined to not give up on her daughter; since she still feels responsible for her disappearance in the first place.
Overall the books is well written and fast paced, easy read and would recommend to other readers.

If you are hooked on Harlan Coben and Linwood Barclay's books - this is not one to miss. On the tenth anniversary of her daughter, Autumn's, abduction, Francine received an anonymous note containing just five words: I KNOW WHERE SHE IS.

This first book by an extremely talented author will not disappoint and hopefully S.B Caves has more up his sleeve… fast paced, addictive, a thriller that will not let you stop until you've finished the final page - and will even then leave you wanting more. From the strength in the main characters, Francine and…well… spoilers…, to the twists and turns that keep you guessing, this is edge of the seat stuff!

However there are a few scenes and descriptive paragraphs that may leave some readers upset or can cause some triggers particularly related to child abuse, if you're keen to give this book a go take a closer in-depth look at the some of the more comprehensive reviews if you are uncertain whether this will upset you.

A dark, twisted, gripping read, full of suspense

I genuinely enjoyed this book, so much so I read it in one day.

To say I was gripped is an understatement, and the story is told quiet well, at times I did feel I wanted more but at other times I felt like I was right there in the story as an awkward bystander when Will told Francine exactly what he thought of her.

Francine and Will are parents to Autumn, who went missing at a young age, I need to go back and revisit because either we aren't told what age she went missing or I don't remember, this is what I mean about wanting more, there was some details I would have liked. The book is set when it is coming close to the 10th anniversary of Autumn's disappearance. Francine and Will have separated with Will re-married and moving on and Francine fighting the darkness and alcohol abuse in a desperate attempt to just feel normal again, to all others, she has well and truly lost it!

A note arrives in Francine's door one day in a unstamped envelope with a note inside that simply says "I KNOW WHERE SHE IS" Francine is sure this is a clue to her daughters whereabouts, but Will is not interested, putting it down to someone playing a prank and is more annoyed by his new life being interrupted by the past, his new life funded by the book he wrote on his experience of losing his daughter, cashing in on the tragedy.

The following day Francine finds a teenage girl peeking into her car while she is at work, the girl looks a bit worse for wear and in desperate need of a wash, when approached the girl confesses she is the author of the note and does in fact know where her daughter is, and knows this that only Autumn would know. Francine takes the girl in and thus follows a heroic battle to get her daughter back proving a mothers love knows no bounds and fly's in the face of danger.

I could say so much more, but I feel like it would ruin some good plot twists in the book so I won't spoil it. Definitely worth the read. S.B. Caves in a fantastic author and builds the story quiet well. 4 stars because like I said I did feel like I wanted more at times.
