I have fallen in love with my Instant Pot, after being scared to use it for a while! I am always looking for new recipes to try so was pleased to find a cookbook that promised low calorie recipes. I do like photos in cookbooks so that you can see what you are making, but these are easy to visualize recipes. I found the tone of the book to be very friendly, and I learnt some good tips. The recipes use easy to find ingredients, or ones that you probably already have at home. They are also meals that I would actually want to make. I’m looking forward to making healthy, tasty meals for my family, and perhaps losing some weight at the same time.

Lots of tasty sounding receipes for under 350 calories. The book is split in to various meal sections so it's easy to know where to look depending on what you're cooking. I think some photographs of the finished food would compliment each receipe

This is the Instant Pot cookbook I've been waiting for!! The author takes advantages of the strengths of the Instant Pot and uses them to put together healthy recipes that do not exceed 350 calories per serving. And what's even better? Almost every single recipe sounds mouth-wateringly good and is NOT terribly complicated. I am IN. There are three recipes I'm planning to make this weekend for sure, and several more on deck for next week.

The author includes a quick introduction to Instant Pot cooking, followed by a couple of pages of healthy cooking and healthy eating tips and tricks. I found this content helpful and to the point. The recipes are organized into a few sections: Sandwiches and Wraps, Main-Course Salads, One-Dish Suppers, Soups and Stews, Protein and Vegetable Combination Dinners, and Sweets and Desserts. Every recipe includes detailed but easy to follow instructions, nutritional information and often, a tip or two. The book ends with a good index, making it easy to find recipes you want to return to.

The only thing missing from this book that would make it spectacular is pictures...I love good photographs in my cookbooks and am disappointed that this one doesn't include them, but honestly--this cookbook is so well done, I can have decided I can do without them and plan to just print my own pictures as I work my way through the book...because I intend to make just about every recipe. They all sound so good!

I was given a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review by the publisher.

I have an instant pot pressure cooker and am always after new recipes to try, when I saw this book I was looking forward to trying some new healthy recipes. Thee are a good mix of recipes in this book for ideas for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as vegetarian recipes, there's even some desserts too. The recipes are quite straight forward with easily available ingredients. The only thing lacking was a few photos.

This book would be great for anyone who has a pressure cooker and would like so new ideas.

Speedy food is of the essence when you are suddenly hungry and on a diet. The Thinner in an Instant Cookbook by Nancy Hughes uses the pressure cooker (or Instant Pot) to prepare diet friendly recipes. As the author writes all the recipes are 350 calories or less. Also, each recipe includes an extensive nutritional analysis including protein, sodium and potassium. If you have renal disease, you might be able to use some of the recipes thanks to the inclusion of protein, sodium and potassium amounts.

You will find the following chapters in her book:

Sandwiches and Wraps
Main-Course Salads
One-Dish Suppers
Soups and Stews
Protein and Vegetable Combination Dinners
Sweets and Desserts

Some of the recipes you'll find include:

Cheesy Chicken and Poblano Rice
Two-Cheese Cauliflower Rotini
Hearty Corn, Potato, and Onion Chowder with Shrimp
Tender Pork Chops in Rich Onion Sauce
Apple-Cranberry Oat Crumble

Recommend.

This is a helpful book for those of us wanting to get thinner and when you think about it, Every single recipe in this book (desserts included) are no more than 350 calories per serving! Many are under that number!! It has a pretty good variety to keep things interesting and not boring or tiring. What I don't like about the book is there is NO pictures of any of the finished dishes, although it does include nutrition facts for every recipe. Too bad there's no pictures, I think it might have boosted the book to a solid 5 stars!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review,

I love this cookbook! I enjoy using my Instant Pot but have found that most of the recipes I've been making are pretty unhealthy and very carb-heavy. This cookbook had many healthy meals that sound delicious and aren't too complicated or have too many hard-to-find ingredients. I put many of the recipes on my "to-try" list. If you have an Instant Pot I would highly recommend that you take a look at this cookbook.

I love that this book gives simple to make Instant Pot meal such as Sandwiches and Wraps and One-Dish Suppers. My family loved the beef hoagies.

I like that the author included a few tips about the Instant Pot, and some in reference to making the most of flavors, foods without adding calories.
One thing to note, I have a 6 Quart model, and an 8" spring form pan will not fit in it. Before you buy any pots or accessories make sure it will fit into your size/model of pot!
There's a very nice variety of types of dishes, and most have fairly basic ingredients and cooking instructions.

I liked this excerpt of the cookbook so much that I ordered a pressure cooker (will get it in two days) and bought the book. I don’t think there’s a better recommendation than that!

I gladly give this book 5 stars and will recommend to anyone who like me is interested in “diet” food but sick and tired of the frozen food out there.

Thanks to NetGalley for letting me read this advance copy in exchange for my unbiased review.

In todays busy lifestyle, having quick but healthy low calorie meals is a must. This book combines the advantages of using a pressure cooker to prepare nutritious meals that do not exceed 350 calories yet don't take hours to produce. Each recipe also comes with nutritional information to help balance your diet. The only downside to this book is that there are no photographs.

I bought an instant pot last Black Friday, and i use to to mainly make hard boiled eggs, ribs, and cook frozen chicken breast when i forget to defrost them. I have tried the cheesecake, but i rather bake one myself in the oven. I have been trying to do a dirty keto dirt and needed some quick, healthy meals, i look forward to trying some of these recipes.

My husband bought me a Instant Pot and I have to say I am in love with it. I have been searching high and low for recipes so I can use it a lot. I love how fast meals can be prepared and they can be healthy as well. This book featured a bunch of tasty sounding recipes some of which I've even made. I love the wide array of recipes and that they are all under 350 calories. I do wish there were pictures though. I not only choose my recipes from the ingredients I also choose many of them by the pictures. If it looks good and sounds good I am open to giving it a try ore often.

Many of us spend a lot of time translating our favorite recipes into instant pot recipes or translating instant pot recipes into recipes that fit our lifestyles and tastes. This cookbook has done all of the work for us! From instructional help on cooking vegetables to great recipes for old favorites, Nancy Hughes helps us make lighter dinner fare that still tastes great. If you have an electric pressure cooker, you definitely need this book in your arsenal.

If you're looking for a recipe book filled with ways to spice up your diet with a pressure cooker, or just some ideas of healthy meals and desserts to make, then look no further! This is the book for you. At just over sixty pages, this book is filled with interesting things to make, including bbq chicken sandwiches, lemon-berry bread pudding, and shepherd's pie in a pot!

Though I don't have a pressure cooker, the amount of cookbooks that I've found recently are making me want to get one! I am sure you can find a way to use these recipes without one, however. Not only are there things to make in this book, but every page has nutritional facts per serving, as well as a section before the book that includes how to use your pressure cooker, pointers for fast and healthy cooking, ways to add more flavour to your meals, extra equipment needed, and ways to add more nutrition to your food!

Overall this book is an incredibly fast read without any pictures, the only down side, but one that is a must have if you own a pressure cooker, or even if you don't. I have tons of new idea's for what to make in the future, and I'm glad I got the chance to read it. Definitely check it out if you get the chance.

Thanks for reading!

What a lovely book.
Very well-laid out recipes with detailed, step by step instructions. The nutritional information is very useful too.
Having the required weights and volumes helps a lot too in being more accurate.
I especially liked the "yield" & "serves" sections, a great aid with portion/serving sizes.
The index at the end is structured in such a way that you can search for recipes using whatever ingredients you have.
I would have liked to see a couple of photographs of completed dishes.

Loved this recipe book. Lots of great nutritious recipes. Although the recipes were all healthy, they were all really great recipes. I loved that it had the nutritional breakdown of every recipe.
Highly recommended for anyone with a pressure cooker and likes to eat nutritiously!

These are quick (of course) and healthy, so this is a great go-to cookbook when you want to use your Instant Pot. We haven't tried every recipe yet, but those that we did were delicious!

Thinner in an Instant
My thanks to #NetGalley for this ebook in exchange for an honest review. Thinner in an Instant is the first Instant Pot cookbook I’ve used. Each recipe has 350 calories or less and includes nutritional information. There is a brief introduction to the Instant Pot and how to use it in low calorie cooking which is very helpful to the novice user.
The book is divided into several main chapters, Sandwiches and Wraps, Main-Course Salads, One-Dish Suppers, Soups and Stews, Protein and Vegetable Combination Dinners, and Sweets and Desserts. Unfortunately, there are not many vegetarian options, nor are there any photographs. Excellent cookbook for beginners who want to cut some calories while saving time in the kitchen.

Planning on buying an instant-pot on Black Friday? Giving one as a gift this holiday season? Or just wanting to survive the holiday season with one? Then THIS is the book for you! Even if the book says "thinner", I'd call it holiday survival! Because you KNOW you will overeat at dinners and parties, so why not keep yourself in line during the rest of the week, with delicious yummy, quick to prepare meals? And After the holidays? Well you KNOW what's coming! LOL.

The book starts off with the basic of insta-potting, and some really great tips! The measurement conversions are VERY handy to have for example. There are some great recipes in this book, and they don't scrimp on flavor either! And using the instant pot makes it SO SO SO easy to make them too! That Greek Lemon Chicken is just TOO yummy, and so is the Beef and Mushroom Stroganoff, but a whole lot easier than grandma's recipe! The Cattle Trail Chili is perfect for busy weekends, and you just might find yourself bottling a lot of marinara sauce, as it is SO easy to make it fresh with the instapot! This is a great book and I highly recommend it!

Anyone who owns an Instant Pot or similar is most likely in love with the timesaving aspects and ease of meal preparation that is enjoyed while using it. Hundreds of recipes are out there; unfortunately most full of fat and calories, especially those calling for convenience foods. That's why this cookbook, Thinner in An Instant: Great-Tasting Dinners with 350 CALORIES OR FEWER from Your Instant Pot? or Other Electric Pressure Cooker by Nancy S. Hughes, is so timely and nice. Every meal doesn?t have to be a heart attack on a plate, and every meal doesn't have to have a full days worth of fat and calories.

Some favorite recipes from this cookbook include: Greek Lemon Chicken with Asparagus (I substituted breasts for the thighs), Spiced Orange Chicken Bibb Wraps, and Tender Pork Chops in Rich Onion Sauce. The Hearty Corn, Potato, and Onion Chowder with Shrimp is delicious, as well as Louisiana Sausage and Pepper "Dirty" Rice . There are also some excellent desserts: Upside-Down Chocolate-Crusted Cheesecake, Apple-Cranberry Oat Crumble and Pumpkin Pot to name a few.

The instructions are easy to follow, and the dishes turn out well. The cooking times seem to be right, and the meats, poultry, and fish come out just right.

The one negative about this book, and it's a big one, is that there are no photographs of the dishes. There is no excuse in this day of modern and easy photograph technology to leave the readers with no idea how their dish should look. With so many disgusting diet dishes out there, it would be nice to know that these diet dishes are appetizing and look like something most of us would really like to eat.

All told, this is a good cookbook for anyone who enjoys the convenience of using an Instant Pot. It's nice to lighten up our meals, and this cookbook has some great ideas.

Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.

This is a delightful cookbook for the new cooking trend — Instant Pot. But it is fine for use with any electric pressure cooker. This cookbook stands out for two reasons. One is the author is already an established cookbook author and has best-selling cookbooks under her belt so she provides quality details and recipes. Another thing is her recipes are more low calorie than some recipe books using instant pots or electric pressure cookers. You’ll also enjoy the nutritional information she includes. There are some tips for healthy eating too, which are nice.
You’ll find a variety of recipes from Sweet Potato Mash and Greek Lemon Chicken to desserts including Upside Down Chocolate Crusted Cheesecake — I know YUM! Yes, they are all still 350 calories or less and all made in an Instant Pot. So the recipes are easy, convenient and quick — while sounding yummy too. Some other elements in the cookbook include Sandwiches and Wraps, One-Dish Suppers and Soups and Stews. This is a complete and well designed cookbook with great recipes.

This had some rally good recipes. Not too complicated and with fairly common foods. I hate when a whole cookbook basically would require me to restock my whole pantry.
