There's always one, isn't there? No matter where you work, in whatever sphere, there's someone intent on putting a fly in the ointment. I'm always interested in other people's take on how to deal effectively with difficult people. This is a good example, with lots of interesting ideas. I will certainly be trying different approaches as a result of reading this book

I received a free copy of DEALING WITH DIFFICULT PEOPLE: Fast, Effective Strategies for Handling Problem People by Roy Lilley in exchange for an honest review. This book is addressed to both management and non-management employees. This is presented as a tool to help you identify problematic customers and coworkers and how to effectively get around their attempts to either claim your accomplishments or to sabotage you and your company’s progress. For instance, sometimes the advice is as simple as, if your boss is one of these people, find another job. If another job isn’t an option, the book provides some tips on how to proceed under the difficult manager. The book also provides some exercises to practice the various tips.
This is a fairly short reference book. You can read it from cover-to-cover over several hours. It’s also set up so you can refer back to it periodically when needed. Most of the advice is pretty logical based on the problem personalities.
