ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Alan Porter is Principal Lecturer in Psychology at the University of Westminster where he leads the BSc Psychology course. He studied psychology at the Polytechnic of Central London and the London School of Economics. He has over 25 years experience of teaching social psychology and the history of psychology. Alan's research interests are in the history and philosophy of psychology, social representations and how academic psychology is understood and used in everyday life.
