Read To Your Toddler Every Day

This is a lovely little collection of diverse short stories. I liked the variety of the stories, and the notes on their place of origin. The illustrations were unique - they looked like they were sewn. There could be more illustrations in order to catch and keep the attention of a young toddler. My 4 year old did enjoy the shorter one page story, but his attention dissipated for the longer ones.  I received a digital copy of this book for free from the publisher on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

3,5/5. Interesting anthology of very short stories between one and four pages long for parents to read to their kids before bedtime, or anytime who am I to organize your schedule like that... Anyway I like the idea of bringing stories from various culture and place from around the world. The stories, like every anthology, have some high and some low but overall a bit of everything where everyone should be able to find something worth for them.

A great collection of traditional, but not so typical short stories. Perfect for a quick read or a few at bedtime. Lovely illustrations.

This is a compilation of various children's stories. There isn't a ton of artwork here and it is quite a lot of words. For toddlers, having more pictures would probably be more entertaining. One story just has a bunch of pears on the pages. It certainly wouldn't hold my toddlers attention for the length of the stories - stories range from 1-4 pages full of writing.

Very interesting fables, many of which I have never read before. Most have a good moral to the story that will provide a good way for parents (or guardians) to discuss different topics with their child (or children). 
Love the title as parents should make time to read to their kids every day.
A copy of Anansi the Spider is in my library (copyright 1972) and rarely does a patron check it out. My concern is that this lovely book would also not be properly appreciated. Therefore, it is up to librarians to use this book during story times and immerse parents in these fantastic fables.

A fun and thoughtful collection of tales/fables from around the world - this book will give young kids the chance to learn simple life lessons as well as get a glimpse into different cultures. The "sewn" illustrations are a unique addition to the text.

Sharing a story with a toddler can be one of life's sweetest experience.  There is the joy of sitting close together and the knowledge that helping a young child to love books is giving them a gift that will last throughout their whole life.


In this book, the author has compiled a group of short tales that are diverse.  To name a few, there are stories from Scandinavia, ancient Rome, Mali, Russia and more, twenty beautifully illustrated stories in all. These entries are sometimes based in folklore or may have come from Aesop.  They are tales that do not talk down to children and are not too simplistic.

All in all, this title offers a nice collection of stories.  Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this read in exchange for an honest review.

This is a beautiful collection of short stories for young children. The illustrations are lovely. My three young children loved this book especially learning from where each story originated. This is one we'll return to again and again.

This is a beautifully illustrated collection of stories and tales from around the world that you can read aloud to your little kid. It's perfect to read before bed as they are short enough for that. 
There is also a good selection of stories from traditional folk tales to fairy tales and fables. Some are well-known and others not so much, but every one has a message to tell us.

This book contains a collection of short stories from around the world that's ideal to share especially at bedtimes. The writing is easy to read because of the font style.
My son who just turned 4 was able to listen to each story. He liked the colourful pictures and thought the stories were entertaining. I think we would prefer a hard copy, a book that you can read over and over again.

It is an undisputed fact that when children are read to regularly at an early age they become confident, more intelligent, readers. It is perfect for nap time, bedtime or anytime you need a story- break in your day and of course it is always delivered wrapped up in a loving cuddle. The illustrations ( which I wish there were much more of ) are embroidered on cloth, making the book unique and beautiful.  The selected short stories talk about compassion, friendship and the well-being of our world.  I encourage you to read to your children of all ages each and every day. Wonderful books will bind you together and bring great joy and fulfillment to both you the reader and to your child.

This is a lovely book of short stories, and all of them come from folklore and are traditional tales. They are from a variety of different countries so great choice. We enjoyed the Magic Pear Tree the most. 

It says to read with your toddler, but I actually enjoyed reading these with my 8-year-old who found them fun and easy to follow. They are only short too, so perfect for bedtimes when you don't want to be tied down to huge stories! 

The illustrations are lovely and I like the way that there are little facts about where the story came from. It broadens the children's minds to think about different countries, cultures and history etc.

This books is an adorable collection of short stories from around the world. Some were a bit long for my toddler's attention span, but they loved it overall. The illustrations are embroidery and absolutely lovely! Along with each story's value on its own, I think this book would be great for children to use in school or homeschool by reading the story and studying the country of origin. This would be a wonderful book to give as a gift, and although the title says toddler, I believe this book could be used through all of elementary school in varying ways.

When it is snowy and cold outside (and my car is buried under 2ft of ❄️ ), superspeed readers like me can read 250+ pages/hour, so yes, I have read the book … and many more today. LOL

This is a great little book to read to your toddler from every day - a love of reading is instilled in children if they are read to and nothing is greater than a kid who loves to read. (vs screentime ...games are a waste of brain cells!) The book you will get is cloth but even the digital version is charming - what a great collection of stories from around the world.

Just what I like! Stories from all over the world, wrapped up in a nice bundle called book. This one even got some kind of patch design as illustration. So pretty and a very nice read for both kids and adults.

This is an amazing book of stories written or spoken worldwide, throughout the history. Some of them are well known, like the story about the ugly duckling or the king Midas, but some of them I read for the first time. I must say it is an excellent collection of stories. They are really well adjusted for an early age and followed by some exquisite embroidery artwork. All of the stories carry their advices and many of them could really be used to teach a kid a valuable lesson when needed.

A lot of the short stories I myself had not heard of before I found myself enjoying them as well. While reading the stories to my daughter I found her wanting to point to the pictures that was the only downside to this novel. I plan on buying this novel that way she can point to the pictures and enjoy the stories longer and hopefully she will pass them on to her children one day.

Children today have less attention and more of distractions for keeping them engaged. Digital instruments are penetrating deep into consciousness of young kids.

But still good old story telling is the most healthy way to entertain, educate and to connect with little ones.
This book contains simple small stories for kids to be told slowly.
Stories are interesting and easy to read.
Vocabulary is simple and there are nice illustrations accompyning the stories.
A very nice selection of very good stories.

Classic folk tales, fairytales and fables are complied into one collection with pretty hand sewn illustrations. This collection will introduce your toddler, preschool or even elementary child to tales from around the world. They are fast little tales some coming in at 1 page while other's are several pages long. They are great to be read at bedtime or anytime really. There are some many "lessons" learned in the tales and many will become favorites I'm sure. Some of my favorites: The Scruffy Duckling ( we know this one as The Ugly Duckling, I think I like Scruffy better) , The Magic  Pear Tree, The Mice and The Elephants, Snowflake, The Snow Child ( I wonder if the adult book The Snow Child is based off of this? If so I might need to read it asap!) to name a few... 

This book would be a wonderful baby shower or first birthday gift, and as the book says we should read to our toddlers ( babies, preschoolers and children) every day!
