I love this book! I have not taught social studies in the past because I didn't have anything exciting to teach it with. This year my goal was to teach Alabama history chronologically and include projects, science, etc. that would help the students experience history as they go. This book does exactly that! Angela Broyles has created a guide for teachers that includes vocabulary, writing prompts, science, research topics, projects, and more. There are many ideas in each chapter so students have choice in how they study the topic. I teach first grade, and I am able to use it with my students. However, it is geared more towards fourth grade and above. I am truly excited to find this resource and my students are excited to learn about Alabama history!

I used this curriculum to teach my three children Alabama History. The content was really good, and the activities were a lot of fun. It was written in such a way that I was able to teach all three children at the same time, and they were all able to understand and participate. I would recommend it!

Used this book with 2 of my children so far and loved it. Incredible resource. Definitely worth the cost!
