I love a good business book. Short, sweet, of VALUE, and to the point. As a businesswoman and an MBA graduate, negotiation is one thing that isn’t discussed a lot! It’s more of a learned skill which is why I loved that the introduction touched upon negotiation in our everyday lives. I never thought of my constant battle with my boyfriend over who was going to do the dishes or take the dogs out as negotiation!
I was hoping to learn more to freshen up my negotiation skills. However, this book left me making a to-do list of things I need to renegotiate in my life! This book would be perfect for those who are just starting out living on their own. From first time home buyers, to students moving out of their parents’ homes. I have many friends in the non-business sector, who are always concerned as to why they weren’t taught anything like this in school!
A direct to the point kind of book. Information was quite useful to use in daily life to negotiate. Very useful.
In some ways, this book reminded me of the classic book "Crucial Conversations ". However this book offers powerful tips and strategies for very specific life situations, making it an extremely useful book.
The initial chapter- understand what you can't negotiate is solid gold!
