Description

Sarah Bowen’s life is nothing like she thought it’d be ten years ago. She runs a successful lifestyle boutique with her two best friends, she’s the makeup artist to one of country’s hottest bands, and she’s in love with a womanizing heartthrob who doesn’t give her the time of day.

After years of pining after Lex Ryan, she decides it’s finally her turn, even if it might ruin everything she’s worked for…

Lex Ryan is the sexy Irish lead guitarist for the hottest country band in the States. He’s known as a serial dater, a commitment-phobe, a player who prefers one-night stands. His wild heart has zero plans of settling down—not even with the band’s makeup artist, Sarah Bowen. He’s vowed to keep his heart from falling for her. Until the band travels to Ireland where his past suddenly crashes into his present.

They say wild hearts can’t be tamed. They never said they can’t be broken.

The Makeup Artist is the second book in the Coffee Book Series. It’s a standalone novel, but the author suggests reading Coffee Girl first because of returning characters.

Sarah is a makeup artist for the hottest country band in the US and Lex is the lead guitarist. They both have had secret feelings for each other for two years, but Lex is very closed off .... so nothing has ever moved forward.

I love that this story starts out with another great coffee meet cute. You get a great follow up to Coffee Girl, with so much more of all your fave characters, Kiki, Tatum, TJ - and some fun new ones! There are some parts that I just laughed so hard out loud at, which isn’t something I do easily.

Ok. The goods. Lex is a HOT, I mean HOT Irish guitarist with an accent and tattoos and all the swoon worthy bad boy stuff you desire. He has a hard exterior from being badly hurt, which is proving super tough to crack. He calls Sarah “sunshine” and it will just melt you. A large part of the book is set in Ireland and I loved how she incorporated accents and talked about the landscape there.

I think the reason this one lost 0.25 is that I wa Sarah was a bit of a pushover when it came to Sexy Lexy.... mostly forgivable when you realize how sweet their connection is.

“I’d like to mash his Irish potatoes.”

After reading, well devouring Coffee Girl in one sitting I was so excited when The Make Up Artist came out. We don't learn much about Lex in CG which makes him an intruiging man of mystery. I was laughing from the off at this one. Sophie brings such a good level of humour into her romances which I love. Lex came across as such a damaged and tortured soul and we finally discover why. I loved the story line with his ex coming out of the woodwork although it was a tad predictable near the end. I really like Sarah shes such a nice character but at times I did want to shake her and tell her to get it together. TJ is still my favourite his scenes always provide much hilarity and I adore his wit and the banter that he has especially with Sarah Kiki. A fab addition to the series and I'm eagerly awaiting Kikis brothers story next

I read Coffee Girl a couple of months ago and thought it was one of the best books I had read in ages. The Make-up artist is just as good. I enjoyed it from start to finish. The characters were brilliantly written and so funny and relatable. If I could award more than 5 stars I would. It was definitely a book that I did not want to finish as it was so enjoyable being involved in their story. The only good thing was the teaser about Cameron at the end. Really looking forward to reading that one.

🎸 The Make Up Artist 🎨 was so so perfect.⁣

Thank you to @sophiesinclairauthor for not making me wait another month to read the second book of Coffee Girl. I loved being able to dive right into the next story to follow Lex and Sarah, the perfect follow up from Tatum and Kiki.⁣

This book was laugh out loud funny. TJ couldn’t get any funnier. His friendship with Sarah and Kiki couldn’t be any more fun to follow and these three have each other’s backs through and through and it’s awesome. ⁣

I loved that a good portion of this book was in Ireland and the culture, accents and scenery were beautifully written and you felt like you were there with the crew, minus “skanklana.” ⁣

So we are here for Sarah and Lex, and their story is beautiful and heart wrenching all in one. I could feel their darkness at times. Their friends to lovers romance was a perfect drama filled, steamy rainstorm. They both had so many feelings and such a difficult time just letting the other one in because of their pasts but they couldn’t be more perfect for each other. I couldn’t get enough of them.⁣

Can Sunshine tear down the hot Irish bad boy’s walls and lead him into her light?! ⁣

“Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone...”⁣

Sinclair did it again with this wonderful story of Lex and the Make-Up Artist. I loved revisiting these old familiar characters just minutes after finishing Coffee Girl. I already cannot wait for the third book in this series. I am so excited that Sinclair is keeping these characters alive.

Thank you to the author Sophie Sinclair and NetGalley for a gifted copy. All opinions are my own.

Sarah Bowen is the makeup artist to one of the country's hottest bands and she's been in love with the lead guitarist, Lex Ryan, for over two years. Too bad he is a commitment-phobe and swears he cannot give Sarah what she deserves. When the band travels to his hometown in Ireland for their tour, Lex must overcome his past heartbreak in order to give his heart another chance at love with Sarah.

Let me start off by saying that I am a huge fan of Sophie Sinclair and will read anything she writes. I loved Coffee Girl and The MakeUp Artist was one of my most anticipated books this spring. I enjoyed it alot but I didn't love it as much as Coffee Girl. Lex and Sarah just didn't appeal to me as much as Kiki and Tatum did. She was a bit too emotional for me because she was constantly crying or trying not to cry. Also, without giving anything away, I thought the conflict came up and then got resolved so quickly, I felt like I was on a high speed roller coaster. The ending did tie everything up very neatly and I appreciated that. And of course, the scenes with TJ are the best and made me laugh so hard. Overall, it's a fun romance with lots of steam.

I have absolutely enjoyed the hell out of this Coffee Book series so far. The Makeup Artist is the story of Sarah and Lex. I was suuuper excited to get to their book after I read Coffee Girl.

The Makeup Artist does end up being notably more angsty than the first book. I'm not typically into OW drama and the whole letting past relationship significantly alter everything about your daily lives, but I'm a salty married lady so, what do I know. But where there was extra angst there was also serious laugh out loud moments. (And I, again, was up until the wee morning hours reading this- did, in fact, wake up the hubs laughing so loud- Sorry, not sorry!)

There were quite a few moments I did want to smack the shite out of Sexy Lexy and his Ex, or his just his stupid male-ness, ::shrug:: But, he's a dude, and they can just be simple arseholes sometimes. But again, the funny would catch me or just the crew/fam getting together to support each other or the saucy times. And, all was right with the world again.

Oh, and I was super excited we got not only Lex's twin in the story but we also had a little love action for Kiki's BFF TJ. But, I'm a little disappointed we didn't get more on that story. I would have enjoyed some more MM representation.

I am so excited to where the series will take us next. I think it's Kiki's brother (?). Either way, More, Please!

Thank you to NetGalley and Sophie Sinclair for the ARC copy of The Makeup Artist in exchange for my honest review.
Sarah has gotten a dream job being the makeup artist for a country music band. She is whisked away on their latest tour.
Lex Ryan is a member of the band and sparks fly between the two. Sarah has been trying to keep her feeling inside but the chemistry between the two takes over.
While on tour in life gets in the way and Sarah is sure it is over between the two and she goes back to the US while Lex stays behind to work out the kinks in his now complicated life.
While reading the book you can feel the emotion between the two and with each page you want the outcome to be the best for them.
This is the second book in the Coffee Book series. The first book Coffee Girl will have you hooked and wanting to pick up this book the second in the series. Thank you, Sophie Sinclair, for keeping the journey you have us on with this series.

Loved this one! The story makes you laugh out loud one minute then cry along with the characters another.

The MakeUp Artist by Sophie Sinclair a five-star read that will make up your day. This is number two in the Coffee Book series and they are stand-alone, but I simply adored them as the series as they each tell different characters stories, they do follow on from each other in timeline and number three cant come soon enough, but I don’t know what to think of that one after the teaser we have already!! Anyhow this one simply took my breath away, honestly my heart was soaring, and I was so happy then my feet were knocked from under me and my heart was in my stomach and I wanted to sob my heart out several times during this story, at one point in this story I had to stop reading as I so badly wanted to punch something, anything honestly I just saw green and not the good type that came later. Lex Ryan, what a little Irish charmer you are, he is so smooth you could hear those sweet nothings whispered in your ear, and you can imagine being around that breakfast table, laughing at him folks and just soaking in the love. Sarah Bowen was such an easy character to relate to, not just as she gets called Sare more often than not like me, but it wasn’t just the name, it was her whole character. What a sublime author, I am so excited to see what words will come next.

Sarah has been crazy over Lex for years since she first started as his band’s makeup artist. But as much as she secretly wants him, she also knows he’s with different women all the time with no desire to settle down. When she decides it’s time to finally give up hope, all of the sudden she learns that he wants her also. But as they travel to his home in Ireland, she learns more about his past and part of his past that won’t go away.

I loved Coffee Girl and completely fell in love with Tatum and Kiki. But I think I may like The Makeup Artist just a tiny bit more! This novel is romantic, funny, sexy, frustrating, and at times, sad. But those components are perfectly balanced to make a fantastic read. The characters are well-developed without leaving the reader to wonder why they do something or don’t do something – their motivations are clear. The story was engaging and kept me turning the pages like wildfire until I was done. There was an appropriate amount of conflict to make me wonder “will they or won’t they” and she didn’t let her resolution come too easily. But the best part was Lex and Sophie. Their characters were already fantastic on their own but put them together and the chemistry was off the charts. Their banter is sweet and funny, their sexy scenes are fantastic but not over the top, and I loved the raw and honest emotion between them.

I was completely shocked to learn that Coffee Girl is Sophie Sinclair’s first novel and that The Makeup Artist is her second. This author writes as if she has been doing this for years and honestly demonstrates better writing skills than a lot of books I’ve read by more veteran authors. She is certainly one to watch and I cannot wait to read the next book in this series!

The Makeup Artist is without a doubt a 5-star read for me. I give my highest recommendation to readers who love romance with a bit of comedy. The characters will pull you in, the music will move you, and I really think you will love it.

Oh the cuteness!! Lex and Sarah took my heart for a rollercoaster ride and left me feeling that exhilarating thrill of the wild ride to happily ever after.

Kiki and TJ are comedic dynamite. I loved the antics, the friendship, and the ridiculously adorable nicknames. Lex’s family was so realistic, loving, and sweet. Sophie’s descriptions of Ireland were vivid and completely drew the mental picture for me. I swear when this pandemic nonsense is over I am getting my arse to the UK!

If you loved Coffee Girl, The Makeup Artist will not disappoint—more smiles, delightful romantic comedy, swoontastic love, and such an endearing cast of characters. Can’t wait for Cam’s story next in The Social Hour!! Thank you to the author for my review copy—get The Makeup Artist on your kindles now and prepare to fall in love.

Ten years ago, Lex’s life was way different than it is today. He did, however, like today fall head over heels for a girl. Even though his twin Connor said he didn’t trust his first girl. So, this is why we see all the things we see our Lex doing with other chicks and not giving his second love a chance, Sarah, the makeup artist.

That is how he ends up here in the US and why he is so closed off in many ways. When he lands in Nashville, he meets the guys and as they say, the rest is history. They were getting ready to go on tour to his motherland, Ireland, and he was late for the plane and when he arrives, he is drunker than two skunks. Everyone knew something was bothering him after Tate and Kiki’s wedding but no one knew what.

Even at his worst, there will still always one woman who will want him no matter what, Sarah. For two years Sarah and Lex, not knowing it, has a crush on the other, yet knowing they were both coming from broken dating lives never wanted to be the one to make the move.

Now being thrown together for this ten-day tour in Lex’s homeland boy will life be exciting. I have to say this second book for me by far outdid the first book. The author allowed the humor and yet the pain and anguish of the characters to shine through. I truly could not put this down until 6:15 a.m. from seven the night before, so that I could finish it.

The ending was perfect and to be able to see the growth and transformation of both characters was so much fun. I loved Maggie and TJ in this book and how his life was lived large and how he was just the perfect friend and how he made the bluest day shine. He was my friend in high school. Kiki was out there in this book compared to the first book but hey if I had chicks after my man…Shampoo it is.

I give this: 5++++ stars. Netgalley.com. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com.

Just as good as the first one!! Loved it!! If you haven’t read the first book, Coffee Girl you are missing out. This book is just as good if not a little better than the first.

Where can I get a dreamy, tattooed, bad boy, Irishman? This book will make you want one of your very own!

I read the first book in this series, and even though this is a stand alone, I really recommend starting at the beginning because these characters are just perfection! Sarah is the female lead of this story and her best friends, Kiki and TJ, are just the greatest. You get the full scope of their friendship and lots of laughs if you read this series in order. There is also a lot of mention of Kiki's older sister and you won't really get the humor if you don't read the first book. Ugh, just read the series in order already....don't MAKE me turn this car around!

Back to Lex and Sarah. Lex is a great leading man with lots of broody goodness. It's kind of hard to read how man-whorey he is in the beginning of the book, but I can get past it because he is well-written, sensitive, and sweet underneath his blatant badass exterior.

Sarah was less likable for me. This story often mentions how emotionally strong she is, having had a crappy upbringing, but her actions in the story suggest otherwise. Her character is very inconsistent. She tells of creeps who hit on her, but then can't get up the guts to ask a man out that she's had a crush on for two years. She is a strong business woman, but dissolves into tears when her love interest is speaking to another female backstage at a concert...literally just speaking. She is decisive about what she wants out of life and her career, then stays with an awful boyfriend who is mildly controlling and kind of a dick for months. This writing doesn't feel like complexity as much as inconsistency. This character inconsistency made me take a star off of my review.

Also, and yes I'm a cranky grammar bitch, there are multiple uses of the word OWE when someone is exclaiming in mild pain. It should be spelled OW. Is it stupid that it really bugged me? Yes. Did it really bug me? Also yes.

A huge bright spot in the book was a side character and his romance with another man. It's a lovely thing to see a family embrace one of their own as he "comes out" and also a same sex relationship that is sweet and satisfying. I love, love, loved it!

The Makeup Artist :Coffee Book Book 2 is the second in a series, but works brilliantly as a standalone. It's deliciously gritty and sexy, with strong likable characters in live and work in world that fascinates us all. Sophie Sinclair really knows her stuff and this is a fantastic and really enjoyable read.

I have to say, I liked this one even better than Coffee Girl. Sarah was the perfect female lead for this story, and Lex was the perfect bad boy lead. The two characters complemented each other perfectly - their banter and chemistry was off the charts, and I couldn't put this story down until the two got their HEA. And the side characters! TJ is one of my favorite characters I've read this year. Sophie had me legitimately laughing out loud while reading this novel.

I highly recommend for anyone who loves a steamy romance with a bad boy lead.

This is the perfect follow up book to Coffee Girl. Lex and Sarah, both featured in the first book as side characters, are the main leads in this story. Sarah had a huge crush on Lex in Coffee Girl but sadly it was unrequited, or so she thought…. Theirs is a complicated relationship and there are lots of twists and turns along the way. There is one plot twist in particular which had me reeling and wondering where on earth it would take them next.

All of the characters really find a way into your heart. Lex is a beautiful, but broken man with lots of issues and back history. Sarah is so sweet and caring and constantly smiling, hence her nickname, ‘Sunshine’. Some of the other characters from Coffee Girl are also present in this story and we also get to see a little insight into the progression of the relationship of Kiki and Tate. TJ is just as hilarious and the banter and antics between Sarah, Kiki and TJ are hysterical. There are some gorgeous moments, Lex singing “Ain’t no sunshine when you’re gone” to Sarah was so heart-wrenchingly beautiful and then there are the more humorous scenes such as the gummy bears one on the plane, which was laugh out loud moment.

I love this author’s writing style, it flows beautifully and is so easy to read. She really can bring characters to life and I fell in love with each and every one. She adds just the right balance of romance, drama and humour, sprinkled with a little bit of steaminess - basically encapsulating everything a romance reader wants to read. The epilogue is amazing, it’s so sweet and heartwarming. This is absolutely the perfect light, summer read.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for the eARC of this book in exchange for an honest opinion.

SEcond in this series and just as enjoyable, if not more so than the first. Following on with another band member, this time With Lex and the make up artist Sarah. This is a slow burn romance and very sweet.
I found this funny and moved along quickly enough too.
Definitely recommend for a HEA romance

Once again Sophie Sinclair’s writing had me hooked ❤️ The second book in the coffee girl series “The Makeup Artist”, is about sexy Lexy and Sunshine Sarah. We were introduced to Sarah and Lex in the first book of the series as KiKi & Tate’s best friends on tour with the band. We learned that Sarah and Lex have a complicated friendship/ relationship. Sarah has been in love with playboy, Irish, lead guitarist Sexy Lexy since she layed eyes on him. And he’s had his eye on her too, but didn’t do anything about it because of haunted past.

When I heard that this book was coming out shortly after I read Coffee Girl, I was beyond excited! I loved Sarah so much in the first book, that I couldn’t wait to learn more about her. & Lex was such a mysterious character I was excited to learn more about his backstory 😁 Sarah is every girls dream best friend. I mean she’s fun, honest, funny, and just awesome. But of course the good ones always fall for the badboy. Lex is this broken beautiful soul and I just loved him. I’ll be honest he made me a little frustrated at times but what bad boy doesn’t? I wanted to hug him and slap him. I loved the way he was with Sarah though. I loved their friendship and their relationship. I loved the way the characters grew to be what the other person needed ❤️ and of course the ending was just perfect 🙌🏻✨ Anyway I could go on and on about everything I loved but I don’t want to give too much away :)

4.5 ⭐️ for well developed story, characters, and steam. I think I may have liked the first book slightly more because I couldn’t get over Tatum. He just made me swoon 😍✨ but still really loved this one 😘

Ps I can’t wait for Kiki’s brothers story 😍😍 thank you for sending me an arc sophie!

I recently just discovered this series. While I enjoyed this book it didn't offer me the same feelings of contentment that Coffee Girl did. I enjoyed Sarah and Lex but I found that Sarah tended to grate on my nerves with how emotional she was.

This was still an enjoyable read though that had a ton of feelings, angst, and discovery of love. I would recommend this author and series.

Well I got my wish after reading Coffee Girl, i found out what happened to Sarah and Lex!
If possible, this book was better than the first one and had me laughing all the way through. I absolutely loved Mrs Ryan!
Again, I loved it was from both the main characters perspectives and both were strong characters. The story flowed well and I couldn’t put it down.
Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

Oh man, what a roller coaster this was. I laughed out loud at times and even cried a little bit. I loved this story so much.

The friendship between Sarah, Kiki, and TJ is hilarious and so entertaining. I really loved getting more back story on Lex and the added Irish phrases were awesome! It definitely added an authentic part to his character.

This book was exactly what I needed and didn’t disappoint. I am so excited for the next book coming that tells more about TJ and Cameron.

I absolutely adore this series!

If you've read Coffee Girl, this is a continuation and the story of Sarah, the makeup artist. She has had a crush on band member Lex since the day she met him two years ago. But every night she watches Lex leave with another random girl and it seems her dreams just keep being shattered.

But Lex begins to open up to Sarah when the band has a 10 day tour around the UK, which happens to take them to his parent's house in Ireland for three days. Lex and Sarah seem to be opening up to each other (after-all, Lex is the king of Mr. Non Commitment), but then Lex's past storms in and just might ruin their HEA chances.

This book was really good - I just want to be friends with all of them. TJ makes me laugh out loud with all his crazy antics. Book 3 is coming out in August and will be about KiKi's brother, Cam. I know I will be first in line to read it.

I was provided this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinions stated above are mine without biases.

Orange you glad you read this book!

This book was so good! Usually in the second book in a series, I’m not as in love with the couple as in the 1st but that didn’t ring true for this book. I loved Lex and Sarah. And I actually think the “villain”, aka Alana is better in this book than in “Coffee Girl”. I am going totes (love Tammy Jean!) going to read the next one but I am not crazy that it’s Cam. Was hoping it would be TJ but he, well I guess you’ll have to read to find out why it’s not his story!

Loved loved loved this story by Sophie Sinclair. This is one story that I could read over and over again.

I have purchased and read Coffee Girl, the first book in this series (a 5 star read), and was very excited in anticipation of this follow up book, The Makeup Artist. I already knew that I liked Sarah who is our heroine, but I wasn’t so sure that I was actually going to like the Lex. I did read several reviews about this book prior to reading in via Net Galley and many of them said it was even better then Coffee Girl, so my expectations were set high and I was happy we got to see more of the relationship between Tatum and Kiki in this book. Sarah Sinclair certainly delivers an extremely likable main character in Sarah-although she is pretty childish sometimes, but I didn't think that Lex was as strong a hero as Tatum was from Coffee Girl. I saw the drama that would unfold coming from a long way out, and I was kind of hoping I was going to be wrong, but unfortunately I wasn't. I don’t want to give away any spoilers because the book really is good, just a bit predictable and the reason for 4 1/4 stars instead of 5. I can still really highly recommend this book, especially if you like Coffee Girl and I would certainly purchase a third book if there is another one in the series.

This is book 2 following the Coffee Girl and i loved this book so much
This book follows Lex and Sarah and although i was a bit annoyed by the two of them, i still had good laughs that earned me looks from my siblings, is there anywhere i can get a TJ and Kiki, those two are just hilarious.
I'd definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for something cheesy to remind you how love is then these books are for you

After reading the first book in the series, I was excited to read this one and I was not disappointed. Sarah, Kiki and TJ are as hilarious as ever and the romance was just as hot. It was so satisfying to see Lex and Sarah finally get together and there were a few unexpected twists to keep things interesting. It was definitely worth the read and I'm looking forward to the next one.

4.5. This romcom was such a joy from start to finish. The sequel to Coffee Girl, was even more fulfilling as I’d already gotten to know the characters in the first book and loved seeing their story unfold. Sinclair did a really good job cleaning out both of their backgrounds and the course of their relationship so far without it being forced in any way. The build up to them getting together was natural and felt real. I loved meeting Lex’s family and that this was set primarily in Ireland. Though Lex irritated me at times, it was great to see him grow as a person and trust again. I’m so excited to see how Sinclair continues to the next couple in The Social Hour!

This is the second book in the Coffee Book series, and I recommend you read Coffee Girl first. There’s a lot of characters in book 1 that are in book 2, and some of the story continues through to book 2.
Sarah’s life is in such a great place. She’s the makeup artist for an award winning country music band, and she owns a lifestyle boutique with two of her best friends. The only problem, she’s been in love with the band’s guitarist Lex Ryan the entire time she’s been working for them. He doesn’t give her the time of day, relegating her to a “sister” role a long time ago even though he gets with anything in a skirt.
Lex doesn’t want or need a relationship. After a disastrous relationship years ago, he isn’t planning to give his heart away again, preferring to be a love ‘em and leave ‘em man. He wants no commitment, so groupies are best. Even when Sarah gets drunk and reveals her feelings, he doesn’t want to get involved. No matter what that little tiny part of his heart is screaming.
When the band heads to the land of his birth, Ireland, he’s stunned to discover that the reporter who will be going on tour with the group is none other than his ex. He doesn’t know how she wormed her way into the job, but he wants nothing to do with the crazy woman who showed her true colors right before their wedding day all those years ago.
As Sarah and Lex become closer, his crazy ex Alana tries everything she can to keep them apart. When she reveals her ace in the hole, will that be the final nail in Lex and Sarah’s budding relationship, or will they be able to get through and move past.
I truly loved “Coffee Girl”, book 1 in this series, and I actually think I liked this story even more. When Lex revealed exactly what kind of guy he was, I swooned. I need Lex Ryan in my life. Ms. Sinclair has done an absolutely amazing job with this series, and I can’t wait for more!!
*I received an ARC from Netgalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

He's been crushed by love before and isn't willing to give it another go, but can't stay away from her. She's spent her entire life being left behind by others either through death or abandonment and can't keep taking the hot/cold treatment from him. Neither can seem to stay away from the other especially since they work together constantly and share the same friend circle so the dance continues. A well developed plot line added to intriguing characters that draw you in and have you empathizing with them makes for a well written love story to entertain you for hours as you won't be able to put this one down. I am really enjoying this series and look forward to more from this author soon!

I read Coffee Girl and then followed up with this book, The Makeup Artist. This book is a roller coaster of emotions. I LOVED the story of Sarah and Lex. First of all, any man who speaks to a woman in Irish is a winner in my book. I almost wish I could hear this book as an audiobook. Plus, I loved that there was a male/male romance shown in a positive way. We don't have enough of those in books.

I loved the humor this book had and also the serious moments as well. It had a lot of heart to it and it kept my attention the entire story. I'm looking forward to the third book in the series.

I fell in love with Sophie Sinclair’s writing from Coffee Girl and I was dying to read Sexy Levy’s story. And let me tell you this book did not disappoint!! It was hilarious and sexy and took me right out my reading slump. Thank you so much!!

Synopsis: “Have you ever crushed on someone so deeply, that you instantaneously thought they were way out of your bounds?”

A multi-talented, unrecognized makeup artist Sarah meets Lex the Lead guitarists of a globally swooned over Band at a Coffee shop while actually making a coffee for him. From the first look, they both are madly lusting over at each other but how will fate conspire for them to be together or to not to be??
Sarah works hard to avoid all the lusty hopes and dreams that she gets about Lex. Lex, a play boy personality avoids being the forever kind of a guy in a fear of being broken- hearted again.

Strong Points:

* Interesting & easily understandable writing style.
* Every character is unique and quirky in their very own way.
* Filled with Sexy Dimples, Hot body and lots of kisses.

Conclusion: This is second book in the Coffee Series by Sophie Sinclair and not disappointing at all. The X factor the author maintains in her novels is unbeatable. The characters are funny, charming and so admirable that you wish for them to be real. The Makeup Artist is a story of two lovers, scared and separated in a filmy style, trying to find their way to each other.

#Coffee Girl (Coffee Book 1) is a cute, romantic, steaming story of Tatum and Kiki who take a leap of faith in love.

A cute love story where it leaves you rooting for Lex and Sarah from the beginning. It shows the complication of love and how sometimes you are attracted to people that you wouldn't expect or you think are "bad" for you. It's a bit corny in some aspects but it's good if you are looking for a afternoon read and I really enjoyed it.

There are some scenes that are very mature so if that is not your style or not what you looking for I would suggest skipping over those parts.

Patience is a virtue.

Thank you to NetGalley and Sophie Sinclair for a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I loved The Coffee Girl so there is no surprise that I loved this book as well. I loved recognizing the characters and being able to see more of Kiki and Tates relationship from Coffee Girl. Overall this is 100% a book I would recommend to those who love meet cute romances.

This was such a light, fun and quick read and was exactly what I was in the mood to read. As we saw in Coffee Girl, Sarah had feelings for the bands guitarist Lex. When the band goes overseas to Ireland, Lex's home, Sarah can no longer live with keeping her feeling for Lex under wraps. Sinclair does a great job of creating a realistic image of these characters and their chemistry. I felt like I was a part of their world, not just reading about it. Sarah may be my favorite character, she is so relatable and funny and lovable.

I am excited to read the third book in this series, The Social Hour.

The Makeup Artist is the second book in the Coffee Girl series. It follows Sarah - makeup artist for a country band - and Lex - the bad boy lead guitarist. They’ve both been pining after each other for years, but Lex isn’t the relationship type and Sarah doesn’t want to be another one of his conquests.

This was a quick read with likeable characters and some laugh out loud funny scenes. I would probably still read the others in the series, but there was nothing super memorable about this book. A fun way to spend a few hours for sure!

I devoured this follow up to the first book “Coffee Girl”! Lex is the sexy Irishman and lead guitarist of the band who struggles internally from his first love, who blew his heart up the night before their wedding. Sarah is the fierce woman who has made a great life for herself despite her tragic past. These two realize there are undeniable sparks but need to see if they can overcome some life obstacles, aka Lex’s ex. The majority of this book took place in Ireland, and it made me want to visit there even more now! I loved the continued friendship and story of Tatum and Kiki in this book too. Thank you, Sophie Sinclair, for this incredible book (currently my favorite out of the two...I’m team Sexy Lexy)! I’m going to be reading your third book very soon. Thank you, BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for this free copy for an honest review.

I read and LOVED the first book in this series, Coffee Girl, and knew I had to read The Makeup Artist immediately after!

This story follows Sarah + Lex, who is a sexy, brooding, tortured musician. He’s also Irish, so extra points there. Sarah has been the makeup artist for Lex's band for a few years and harbored (not so) secret feelings for him the whole time. There are so many things to love about TMA! First, we get lots more of Kiki and TJ, Sarah's bff's. Seriously, their banter and shenanigans make these books laugh out loud funny. Next, the tension between Sarah + Lex is on point right from the beginning and there is plenty of passion and steamy scenes between them.

I really loved these characters and was rooting for them through the book!

"Have you ever wanted something so bad, but it's just out of reach? Do you ever just go for it?"

Lex and Sarah's friends to lovers story was everything I wanted it to be. We got a bit of them in Coffee Girl and I was happy to see their story continue here.

The chemistry between these two characters was incredible. The steamy scenes were amazing, but there were moments that I found much sexier when they were just talking or interacting - the scene where they sing in Conner's bar was electric. When Lex sang the first line of the song at the music festival, I got goosebumps and I may or may not have cried!

Lex (who makes my top 5 list of book boyfriends, by the way) jumped off the page for me. From his tattoos to his brooding and his accent (which I heard in my head again) he was perfect. I loved his little names for Sarah, whether he said them in English or Irish.

Sarah, (aka Sunshine) was his perfect match. A little insecure at times, which frustrated me...I just wanted her to dig her heels in...she was also strong and believed in love (and Lex,) even when she didn't want to.

Again, the secondary characters were wonderful! Conner and Mrs. Ryan were great! Kiki and TJ were hysterical once again. The ups and downs were written so well that you didn't even mind the emotional roller coaster that you're riding. I can't wait to read what she writes next!

I liked this a lot more than I thought I would considering this is a series and I didn't know it. Looks like I will have the pleasure of re-reading this after reading Coffee Girl. It is nice to know from other review that Lex, Kiki and Tatum and mention of Lex's twin continue from book one to this one. Sarah is the makeup artist for a super popular country group and has had feelings for Lex, the brooding, closed off Irish lead guitarist. He has secret feelings for her too, I just loved their story even though it was a slow burn but it was satisfying as hell by the end. Yes, numerous people and other feelings block these two from being together and honesty with each other. Does it work out? Or do they part ways?

Cannot wait for book three after I read Coffee Girl and then re-read this. Sophie Sinclair has characters that are fun but complex and a great writing style. Highly recommended for a rom-com series!

Thanks to Netgalley, Sophie Sinclair and Books GO Social for a copy even though this has already been published. I appreciate and look forward to other books and authors from this publisher, would be nice to be auto-approved.

The Makeup Artist by Sophie Sinclair
Rating: 3.75/5

I am always wary of the second book in the series - they generally have a lot to live up to especially if the first book is good. I absolutely loved Coffee Girl and knew that this book would have some tough shoes to fill. We are introduced to Lex and Sarah in the first book and I was thrilled to learn that they'd be getting their own story, and while I loved a good portion of it, there were some instances that just left me wanting more.

Things I loved:
- Sophie Sinclair writes such bingeable books! I started and finished this one in less than 24 hours.
- There are so many genuinely funny moments and the dialogue between Sarah and her two best friends (Kiki and TJ) had me laughing out loud
-Sinclair writes characters that you want to root for SO BADLY

Things I needed more of:
- There were so many things happening in this book that felt underdeveloped. One minute Sarah is in love with Lex then she goes to hating him the next. These back and forth feelings were hard to keep up with.
- Without spoiling anything, there is an issue between Lex and the main antagonist that only gets about 10 pages of development from start to finish - I really, really wanted Sinclair to drag that problem out. It felt like it was over before we even really got into the nitty-gritty.

Overall, such a fun, end-of-summer read. I'm very much looking forward to getting my hands on the final installment of this series.

Thank you to Net Galley and BooksGoSocial for the Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Sophie Sinclair did it again! I just love this book so much. It was so much fun. Great storyline and fun characters! I just love it!!
Thank you NetGalley for the book, in exchange of my honest review.

Although it can be read as a standalone you will get a better reading experience if you read Coffee Girl first.

This story follows on from Coffee Girl and is told by Sarah, the make-up artist and Lex, the guitarist.

This time the band and their team head off for a European tour starting in Lex's home country of Ireland. There is less focus on the band this time and more about the relationships off stage.

NEGATIVE
I did get frustrated with Lex calling Sarah Love and Princess all the time, but that's just a pet hate of mine.

LOVED
I love the character of TJ. He is so funny, especially when he gets together with Sarah and Kiki. I do hope there will be a follow on book in this series that will focus on him as a main character.

The book is made up of lots of short snappy chapters that makes for another easy, fun and sexy read with several laugh out loud moments. I look forward to reading the third part, The Social Hour.

All three parts of the Coffee Girl series are available on Kindle Unlimited.

I volunteered to read this book, through netgalley in exchange, for a honest review. The book is well written and the characters are described well. The pacing of this story is so good. This author's writing style is incredibly entertaining. This is the second book in the coffee series. The romance is very steamy and sexy. Who doesn't love a irish musician romance book. I really enjoyed when the author added irish language in this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone. I can't wait to read more books by this author in the future. This book is in stores now for $3.99 (USD).

Sarah has been harboring an intense crush on Lex for 2 years.
Lex is a country band member who is the definition of a bad boy.
Can they make it work or will Lex's past get in the way?
Fantastic follow up go the 1st book in this series. I am looking forward to the 3rd!

This is the second book in the coffee book series. & it is everything I wanted and more. I finished this book in a day I couldn't put it down.

this follows Lex & Sarah. I was rooting for this romance back in coffee girl. Sarah is the make up artist on tour and has been in love with Lex for years but has always thought he didn't even notice her in that way but really Lex didn't think he was good enough for Sarah. (swoon)

lets get straight to it the things I loved about this book:
- Sexy Lexy - I love getting duel Pov's and Lex was a character I loved in coffee girl and wanted to know more about him who doesn't love a broody tatted Irishman his parts were my favourite
- The friendships - you get to see more of Lex & Tatum's friendship which I loved but for me the friendship between Sarah, Kiki & Tj did it for me and was what made me give this book 5 stars they are hilarious and they bounce off each other in such a great way.
- being set in Ireland - most romance's I've read are set in America so its nice to get one set somewhere else and Ireland is such a beautiful place and meant that we got to see Lex's family & more of his backstory too

I felt the conflict was handled really well and tied up nicely overall I loved this book and will definitely be reading book 3

I had read the previous book in the series, Coffee Girl, and liked the characters and plot in this universe where famous musicians fall for the regular girls around them. Lex and Sarah are even more likeable than Tatum and Kiki, and the supporting characters are mostly charming. I am only deducting a star because of how many evil females there are--Kiki's sister, Tatum's famous ex Savannah, the many groupies who throw themselves at the guys, now Sonja the reality star and of course Alana, Lex's ex-fiancee. Not to mention the boring females like Kiki's supervisor in CG (who barely appears here) whose name I can't remember, and Amelia in this book. It's like Friends where the main characters only really like each other.

Thanks to the publishers and NetGalley for a digital ARC for the purpose of an unbiased review.

3.75 stars
I really liked the writing and the chemistry between Sarah and Lex. Lex really frustrated me at times and he could be wishy washy. He wasn't completely bad, but it was frustrating to read. This book had a lot of OW drama and it was almost too much. Kiki and TJ were comedic relief and had a lot of funny moments.

Thank you to the author Sophie Sinclair and NetGalley for a gifted copy. All opinions are my own.

I sat down and read Sophie Sinclair's first book, Coffee Girl, in one sitting. I devoured it and really enjoyed it, so I knew that I had to read this one. Oh man, I liked this one even MORE!

I loved the continuation of the story started in Coffee Girl, but now with Kiki and Tatum as the friends, and the focus now on Sarah and Lex. Oh goodness their chemistry is steamy, and I'm a sucker for some Irish hotness. I feel that the rapport and snarky banter between the friends was even funnier in this book, and it really made it an enjoyable read.

While I don't love the huge misunderstanding/estrangement/hoodwinking, I enjoyed how the story was resolved. Overall, a fantastic and fun story full of steam, friendship, music, and hope.

I loved Coffee Girl, and always wondered about the story surrounding Sarah, the make-up artist, now I know.
Another amazing story, based around the band, its fans and entourage, with another love story that had been going on for two years.
The path to true love was never going to run smoothly with Lex, but when you hear what happened, all the lies and deceit, you understand his character better.
So pleased that this story went past them finally getting together and entered the future of the main characters

Super fun read. I loved the banter between all the characters and the relationships that developed. Lex and Sarah are adorable and frustrating yet still endearing. I think the series would make a great TV show and definitely one I would watch.

I didn't hesitate to start reading The Makeup Artist after finishing the first in the series, Coffee Girl. I love these characters and enjoyed the second book just as much if not more than the first. I loved that most of the book took place in Ireland, and Lex's Irish accent is adorable. I was laughing out loud at times from the things he says! This is a quick, steamy read for those who love romances involving musicians.

Sophie Sinclair returns in The Makeup Artist to deliver the much anticipated follow-up novel to Coffee Girl. These are adorable, light-hearted romance stories that will leave you laughing and feeling joyful. In this story, we follow Sarah Bowen, the make-up artist who works for one of country music's hottest bands and feels like her life is nowhere near how she wanted it to be.
As was set up in Coffee Girl, she begins to fall for Lex Ryan the guitarist of the band who she has had a crush on forever. You will definitely enjoy this one more if you start with Coffee Girl because the characters are the same in both, and this novel builds on Coffee Girl in certain parts.

Lex and Sarah had amazing chemistry and it was truly super enjoyable to read!

Another super cute story by Sophie Sinclair that I really enjoyed. She writes such likeable characters who you immediately want to root for. Big fan and can't wait to read more by her!

The Makeup Artist was my first book by Sophie Sinclair and definitely won't be my last! Only after I read this did I realize it was the second book in the series but it didn't take away from my enjoyment at all, and I felt it worked well as a stand alone too.
It was a fun, angst filled romance with the perfect mix of steam and drama and some great chemistry between the main characters, Sarah and Lex.
This was a quick, easy read that left me wanting more. Looking forward to reading the author's other books and of course, going back to read Coffee Girl, the first in this series.

REVIEW: The Makeup Artist by @sophiesinclairauthor 💄🎤🎸

Ok y’all, it’s official: I am team Sexy Lexy! 😍😍😍 I couldn’t get enough of his bad boy rocker ways. Plus that accent I could imagine him saying as I read! Talk about swoon 🥰

This was the second book in the Coffee series, and this time we get Sarah & Lex’s story. But not to worry, if you are a huge fan of Kiki & Tatum, they play a big role in this book too. I loved learning more about Sarah and Lex’s individual backstories, and the fact that most of the book took place in Ireland during the band’s European tour was a fun touch as well. Plus TJ, Kiki’s gay best friend? He had me LOLing the entire time!

The only thing I didn’t love was a part of the plot in the last quarter of the book. I don’t want to give anything away, so dm me if you want to know which part it was 😊

RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
