Perfect book! It had a bit of everything sprinkled in the story. This family will grab your attention and not let go till the very end.

Housewife Chronicles is a highly addictive read! I was drawn into this gripping story right from the start. Author Jennifer Snow is in top form with this murder mystery novel. The story revolves around a 30 something woman whose husband has left her for a younger woman. The pretty little mistress just happens to live right next door. Both women travel in the same women’s social circle.

Housewife Chronicles is a delicious mix of murder mystery, thriller and romance. And that pretty well checks off my reading preferences, The twists and turns in the plot kept me on my toes. In spite of my busy daily schedule, Housewife Chronicles was unputdownable! I finished it in record time. Great story!

Beth and Gina are neighbors who had more in common than they realized in this quiet suburb, they were in love with the same man. Beth was happily married, or so she thought, with two teenage children. Gina is a yoga instructor living next door. When suddenly, the love of their lives is found dead. This is a dark comedy told from both Beth and Gina's perspective while trying to solve the mystery with their neighborhood clan. You never know who you may actually find a connection with.

This was a fun quick read, finished in one sitting!

Fun Tale Told In A Possibly Unique Way. In some ways, this was a typical light-ish, women's fiction level mystery involving a dead husband, a separated wife, and the mistress who caused the separation. It ultimately becomes a feel-good tale of friendship and bonding between female neighbors with a bit of a dark undertone, which was very well executed - darker than the Hallmark Romance level romances Snow typically writes under this name, but nowhere *near* as dark (and *far* funnier) than the depths Snow plumbs as JM Winchester. But what truly makes this book so rare and possibly unique is the decision to tell the tale from the perspectives of both the wife... *and* the mistress. Excellently told story that will ultimately have you guessing until very nearly the last word. Very much recommended.

Housewife Chronicles gives you a little peak into a number of hectic lives, it does so in a nicely written, simple way. It's the kind of book that you can't wait to grab hold of as soon as you get back from work. It has the perfect descriptions, being not too simple or too complex, making it easier to create a mental image of the situations and characters.

The plot follows the lives of a group of very different women that all have one thing in common; they're married, all but Gina - the beautiful, young, attractive, yoga instructor that lives next door to Beth.

When Beth is suddenly faced with extremely difficult challenges, the society of housewives (plus Beth) are unexpectedly there to guide and help her. Beth is unaware as to whether they do so out of friendship, or whether they're plotting something...

In brief, this story captures your attention from the beginning with a number of different scenarios going on that make you want to read the whole book in one sitting. The book mixes romance, with a slight sense of thriller, an amazing and hilarious amount of sarcasm and, most importantly, self assurance.

Why self assurance? Well, all of these women go through difficult times, especially Beth and Gina, but they find a way to get through it. This is pretty relevant for the times we're currently living ourselves in 2020. Above all, the group of women, which you may expect to go against each other, actually form a union together in order to help the one in trouble - it's great for women not to be represented as people that compete with each other, and instead being represented as their own kind of secret, united society.

You'd think that finding out about your husband's affair, (with your neighbor and yoga instructor), just two weeks before he died would flip your world upside down, right?

Well, wait until you discover that the police thinks you're the one who murdered him.

Passion. Deception. Lies. Truth.

Housewife Chronicles is a great book with a hint of mystery, lots of self-discovery and many, many questions about life and how to let yourself trust other people - even the ones you never expected you would.

I totally loved the characters and the writing style, going from Beth's to Gina's point of view on each chapter. Seeing everything that happened from their perspective makes you realize how many different lives people around us actually live, and it was very interesting to be a part of this particular messed-up and confusing reality.

"I'd known what every day was going to look like. No surprises. No drama. No heartache.

Now, everything is uncertain, confusing and spinning out of my control."

All of the housewives personalities, struggles and perfect-looking lives were crucial to the story and I can definitely imagine these women existing anywhere. Secrets and all.

This book gave me a major "Little Fires Everywhere" vibe, considering where they live, the fact that Beth is an artist, the motherhood feelings and the melancholic-dramatic children in the background. Also, if you're a Taylor Swift fan, you'll probably think about the love-triangle story that she wrote on her latest album, "Folklore", which was kind of (totally) incredible for me.

Huge thanks to NetGalley for approving my request! This is my first experience and I seriously couldn't be more excited <3

A romantic comedy/murder mystery that really made my week! This was a fun ride filled with characters that were total oddballs, some of them lovable and some not. Highly recommended!

Well written and captivating from beginning to end. A long marriage comes to an end when a wife finds out her husband is cheating on her with her neighbor. But it ended in murder - who exactly killed him? I just couldn’t put this book down and was guessing until the end. Think sex and the city if they were all married. I just loved this book. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I LOVED this book! It had everything mixed in- love, friendship, scandal, murder and more. I could not put it down & I really hope there will be a sequel. I highly recommend.

I really enjoyed this book. I don’t do romantic, skin deep chick lit & thankfully this book wasn’t that. There was more depth to it, exploring these women’s friendships plus the added bonus of the mystery of who killed Howard. Not a emotional, sobbing read but definitely more than typical “fluff” written to appeal to women. Four solid stars😊

When I was first approved to read the Housewife Chronicles, I had low expectations. I assumed the book would be about an affair or some typical housewife drama, but it contained so much more. I love that the author was able to include comedy and romance in a mystery/thriller without it becoming cheesy or confusing. The plot included twists and turns that kept me guessing what happened. I liked the character development and the author’s writing style. I will be telling everyone about this book!

An amazing read, well written, and highly addicted. One of those books that you will find difficult to put down.

A long and happy marriage comes to a crashing end when Beth finds out about her husband, Howard's affair with their next-door neighbor, Gina.

The characters were so relatable and real. The housewives personalities, dilemmas, and struggles

authentic. I loved Snow's writing style, where she covers both Beth's and Gina's point of view, making this novel a true winner.

I would like to thank Jennifer Snow and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Summary:
An entertaining read, full of humor, apprehension, and mystery. Highly recommended !!

This book had it all; murder, infidelity, gossip you name it. The question, who really murdered Howard? It was hard enough for Beth being the scorned wooden, but the choice of the woman he chose to cheat on his wife with! Avoiding spoilers as this is also going on my blog.
I really enjoyed the book and felt bad for both email, most of all his wife, Beth. It’s hard enough finding out that your husband is cheating on you, but when he drops dead of a heart attack 2 weeks post finding out of the affair, well that sucks even more! I did enjoy the ending. I thought this was well written.

This is a Women's Fiction with a little bit of Romance and Mystery mixed in. This book is told by Beth (widowed and single mom) and Gina (next door neighbor to Beth and Beth's died husband's mistress). This book is I fill about women that are not normally friends become friends and stands by each other. I love this book so much. It is written very well, and the characters are so well done. I also feel the character change and grow during this book, and I love when that happens in book. There is so much put into this book, but it is written so well it takes no time to get though this book. The pacing was great is was not to fast or to slow, and there was enough going on that you did not want to put it down at all. The romance was not very big in this book, so do not pick this book up looking for a romance book because you will be disappointed. The mystery was a little big part of this book then the romance parts, but I would say the mystery is like a cozy mystery book not a thriller or a regular mystery book. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher or author (Jennifer Snow) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that. This book is schedule to be release on January 12-2021.

I read Housewife Chronicles in ONE day, I LOVED it! After reading the summary, I assumed this was going to be a light, fluffy, “chic lit” type of read, but it was not what I expected at all! There was so much more substance to it than that, and though there were certainly some humorous scenes between the housewife friends, there was also some sophisticated mystery, romance, and drama to round it all out. Aside from the author’s talent with her writing prose, the characters are what truly made this a great book. They were so eclectic, unique, and enjoyable and I found myself entertained and intrigued page after page, especially by Beth. I love her! Great book!

I call this book “messy fabulous.” It brings out the messy parts of a marriage, yet the fabulous ways a life can turn out, even after tragedy.

There’s Beth - the devoted housewife who’s in a marriage she “never knew” was headed south. She’s at times a woman defeated, trying to revive the spark in herself. The author is good at expressing the feelings, both good and bad, a mother of a teenage daughter would have.

Then, there’s Gina - the stereotypical peace and love yoga instructor who thinks she’s done nothing wrong. Is she involving herself in others lives for good or for bad reasons?

The revelations in the book are somewhat predictable, but did not deter from my enjoyment of the book. It’s lighthearted with humorous parts, as well. I look forward to reading more by Ms. Snow.

Say it with me, y'all...𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝙣𝙤𝙩 👏🏼 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙤𝙣𝙚 👏🏼 𝙚𝙡𝙨𝙚'𝙨 👏🏼 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙚!

Oh, MAN. Let me start by saying I loved reading this book. But these characters...love to 𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦 them! Synopsis says "Housewife Chronicles is a dark comedy with a hint of mystery and a focus on unlikely female friendships." Well, it's definitely a dark comedy and there's a hint of mystery but female friendships?! More like frenemies! The story is told from the POV of Beth, recent widow, and Gina, her husband's mistress. Gina is abhorrent and my BP spiked while reading her chapters! You don't get to have an affair with a married man, take over raising his ex wife's children, and become one big happy family. This girl was so delusional it was almost unbelievable. We do see a friendship of sorts evolve between Beth and the other neighborhood wives, but it never seems genuine. Either way, this was a fun, engrossing read. I'm here for the drama, but so very thankful it's not 𝗺𝘆 life falling apart 😬 Thank you @netgalley and @jensnowauthor for this addictive read! Y'all can grab your copy January 12 🌴🌴🌴🌴🌴 5/5

Beth's Cartwright 's husband is dead. But Howard wasn't just Beth's husband, he was their neighbor's lover. And Gina wasn't just Beth and Howard's neighbour, she was Beth's yoga instructor. So, when detective Banks walks into the scene, the whole neighborhood (at least the part most familiar with the involved characters) is on board and ready to jump into the investigation. If they are willing to have the situation cleared up or if they have different ulterior motives, that's still unclear.
I loved this book! The characters are very solid, and the writer uses their inner thoughts in the most spectacular way. They are witty but still innocent with the same intensity.
The pace is remarkable and the epilogue is without any doubt surprising. I didn't see it coming.
Thank you Netgalley for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is enthralling! Written from both the wife and mistress’s point of view, It is filled with healing and unlikely friendship.

Beth is a stay at home mom of 2, insecure in her body and struggling to make ends meet after her cheating husband dies.

Gina lost the love of her life, her neighbor’s husband. She thinks well of Beth and is just trying to help her and the kids out.

Are they both crazy?

The reason this was not a 5 star read was because the wrap up at the end of the book felt a little too easy. Jennifer did a great job of keeping the reader on their toes and developing her plotline. I wish we’d seen a little more of that in the last couple chapters. However, I am still in love with this book and will be buying it when available

This is women's fiction at it's best.
Two weeks after Beth learns of her husband's affair with the young, sexy yoga instructor living next door, he's dead. With an erection.
Beth is trying to keep it together- her kids are lying; her creativity is dead. Thank goodness for her coffee club- neighborhood women meeting weekly to gossip.
Gina is utterly devastated. As the other woman, obviously she lacks the community's support- she's adrift. Her twin brother, Gino, stays for a few weeks to lend support and guidance.
Then Howard's death is ruled a homicide.
Told from both Beth and Gina's point of view helped not only define both characters but also add suspense to the mystery of Howard's death. Women uplifting women, providing support and humor.
Great read. Highly recommend.

Beth, a recently widowed potter, has the unfortunate bad luck of living next to her husband’s mistress, yoga instructor, Gina. But the stakes are raised when Beth is suspected of murdering her estranged husband. Told using alternating point of views between Beth and Gina, Housewife Chronicles looks at the compassion necessary when there’s a seismic shift in family makeup. The prose is fast-paced and blunt at times with plot twists and turns at every corner. Fans of Big Little Lies and Not That I Could Tell will love this book! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced review copy.

Housewife Chronicles
Jennier Snow
January 12, 2021

Beth Cartwright lost her husband to an untimely death. No one had predicted it but she had thought about it happening for a while. No, she didn’t kill him except the news that he was having an affair with a woman in her neighborhood, her mind went to evil thoughts. Gina, Howard’s mistress, started inviting her two teens, Tyler and Alana to spend time at her house with them once Howard had moved in and made it official. Nasty thoughts flooded into her mind. It was just a few days ago that Howard was found dead in Gina’s bed. (She was probably off leading one of her yoga classes in the studio while he slept late.) Well, the world knows now. The police are doing the investigation and the coroner is doing the autopsy since the cause is unknown.
As far as Beth was concerned his death was not the problem. She was stuck with all of the expenses of a single mother. The house, the kids, the utilities, etc, etc, etc. Beth is an artist. She has a pottery studio in their home. It added to the finances but in no way met the budget. The neighbor ladies in the group decided it was time for a meeting. They hold regular gatherings when one of them needs guidance. The day came and Beth trudged over thinking the worst as the Detective in charge of Howard’s case had stopped by to ask more questions. His cause of death was due to rat killer. It had been added to his food and drinks. Little by little it killed him. Now, this was a murder investigation. As the impending irate ex-wife, she seemed to be first in line. The group started their own examination of locals who had grief with Howard.
This was a humorous study of what I came to realize was akin to Desperate Housewives, the TV show. That is not to say I did not enjoy it, just not what I expected when I chose a book by Jennifer Snow. I had read her Alaska Mystery series not long ago and thought this could be another suspense romance - almost but not so much. It is well worth picking up if you are a fan of fun mysteries. Housewife Chronicles by Jennifer Snow is published by Jennifer Snow and will be published on January 12, 2021. I appreciate her allowing me to read and review this novel via NetGalley.

I finished "Housewife Chronicles", by Jennifer Snow this morning. It only took me about a day and a half to read. Now to be honest with you I really didn't know if I was going to like this book or not. It is not the usual type of books I read but I thought it sounded interesting so I figured I would give it a try. I am glad I did. I ended up enjoying it.
The book centers around 2 main characters Beth, a middle age housewife with 2 teenage children and a dead unfaithful husband, and Gina, the young 20 something neighbor next door with the perfect young body who stole Beth's husband. After being told of her husband's cheating by a group of women from the neighborhood who are Beth's friends, her husband moves out and into the house next door with Gina, only to end up dying within two weeks from an apparent heart attack. As Beth tries to deal with the betrayal and the death of her husband, with the gossipy support of the other housewives she is thrown another curve ball. A visit from a police detective leaves her shocked and stunned, her husband didn't die of natural causes but was apparently poisoned and the worst part of it all, Beth is the prime suspect of the investigation ! She is the only one it seems that had any motive to kill him. Trying to prove her innocence Beth and her housewife friends, along with Gina band together.
This book looks at relationships, at how the most unlikely bonds form through unusual circumstances. It is a book about friendships among a diverse group of women, and about the relationships between mothers and their children. It also looks at our relationships as wives and husbands and how some women lose themselves in their relationship, giving everything of themselves to their husbands and children and leaving nothing for themselves. It is about finding yourself again, about taking control of your life and learning to live independently focusing and depending on yourself. It is about seeing yourself as a separate person, worthy of success on your own for who you are, not dependent upon who your husband or others are or what they think.
I thought this book was going to be a fluff piece without much substance, i was pleased to see that I was wrong.
The writing flows and the characters are real and have substance. They are likable and believable. I would recommend this book to fans of women's fiction, and general fiction lovers
I give this book 4 out 5 stars and would like to thank #NetGalley and #Jennifersnow for the Advanced Reader Copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Beth’s husband just died. Sad, except he was found on the kitchen floor of Gina, her next door neighbor and the woman he’s been having an affair with. When the verdict changes from heart attack to poison naturally Beth is first on the suspect list. Her female friends/neighbors, as well as Gina rally around her and decide to go on the offensive to find the real killer. Between these women, her snarky kids who seem to prefer Gina, and the handsome detective who think she’s guilty, what else could go wrong. Turns out, plenty.
With a huge twist near the end that makes this an interesting murder indeed, nothing is like it seems. Really enjoyable.

A thoroughly enjoyable book with interesting characters and a mystery with a twist that is certain to surprise you. I struggled with the wife and mistress getting along quite as well as they did but if you can look past this you will enjoy this book.

Beth and Gina are neighbors who happen to love the same man, Beth's husband. Beth thought she had a happy marriage and family with two teenagers until she discovered the affair. Two weeks later when Beth's husband is found dead, she, of course, is the number one suspect! Beth leans on her neighbors, including Gina, while trying to clear her name. This book has it all! Friendship, it is funny at time, and thrilling at others. I am already recommending friends pick it up as soon as it goes on sale, January 12, 2021.

Title: Housewife Chronicles
Author: Jennifer Snow
Genre: Mystery

Synopsis: Beths husband dies two weeks after she finds out he was having an affair with her yoga instructor next door neighbor. The autopsy shows he was poisoned and all suspicion turns towards Beth. Beth, along with her troupe of suburban housewife girlfriends (including her husbands mistress) begin their own investigation to clear Beth’s name.

What I liked:
-This story was breezy. You can legit finish it in one sitting. It was not a ‘thriller’ mystery. It was light hearted and just an easy ride. And sometimes (especially in 2020) you just need an easy read
-I’m going to be honest...I could t figure out the ending until the ending. I mean I called the ending of The Silent Patient halfway through. But this one- I wasn’t sure.
-the cover is cute as hell

What I disliked:
-the whole police investigation and Det. Banks whole character was laughably unrealistic
-would have like to dive deeper in the different housewives stories a bit more

Thank you so much to @netgalley for this ARC!

This book was a wonderfully fun and easy read for me. I loved reading and seeing the juxtaposition between Beth and Gina's perspectives throughout the story. The individual characters and their relationships were witty and endearing. Overall the book was charming, romantic, and a tad mysterious. An enjoyable read.

4.25 stars / This review will be posted at BookwormishMe.com on 30 December 2020.

Beth never expected to find out her husband was having an affair. After all, they had been together nearly forever. They have two kids and Beth is a devoted mom and wife. But there you have it. Her husband died with a smile on his face in his mistress’s house. Next door to Beth. Oh, and by the way, the mistress is also Beth’s yoga instructor.

If all that isn’t enough, things are definitely going to get worse for Beth and Gina, the mistress. Allies are found in unlikely places, though, and perhaps the chaos about to rain down on Beth will prove to be the change she needs to move on with her life. If Beth doesn’t kill Gina first.

This is an undeniably fun novel about adultery and love and friendship and family. There’s an old saying that everything happens for a reason, but when Beth’s life spins out of control, you almost have to question what the reason is. Jennifer Snow’s ability to write with humor and wit in a heartwarming way makes this novel special. It put a smile on my face even in the worst of the times for Beth and Gina. Though somewhat implausible, it is still quite an enjoyable read. Quick, fun, entertaining.

Her husband's affair, with their next door neighbor, coming to light two weeks before his death should have been the worst thing to happen to Beth Cartwright that year.

This novel was very entertaining,, and sometime just plain hilarious, Choosing to tell the story from both the widow’s and mistress’s point of view was a great choice. I love Beth, and could identify with her struggles. Gina is incredible naive and I found my self saying, “seriously” out loud more than once. Her relationship with Beth’s teenagers was a little out there for my taste, but it did not take away from the story itself.

Engaging and entertaining read. Thank you Jennifer Snow and Netgalley for the ARC.

Rating 4 stars
Housewife chronicles follows Beth Cartwright and her husband Howard along with their children Tyler and Alanna. Howards sudden death shocks her community as just two weeks before this Beth finds out he was cheating with the young, hot neighbor named Gina, who just happens to be the community yoga instructor so yes she knows Beth Cartwright.

I feel bad I can't give this book a more detailed review, but I really don't want to give anything away. Housewife Chronicles is full of humor, angst, sex and mystery all rolled into one very entertaining read!

Triggers : Cheating Spouse, Lying, Poisen

What I thought : I gave this book 3.5 stars, rounded it up to 4 because it was an extremely easy read. Yes, it was enjoyable but it nagged to me! It was predictable most of the time and similar to almost every other cheating spouse storyline.

I did enjoy the way Snow made this into a dramatised storyline with housewives and how typical their lives were. It was a complete page turner so it was yet, a fast read! I also liked how she went back and forth between the POV of the widow and the mistress. I wanted to STRANGLE Gina (mistress) at times and her want to be accepted by the others and the actual wife of the husband (widow - Beth). Like NO, in what world would she EVER like you.

Characters : Widow - Beth, strong woman. Mistress - Gina, I hated her. I enjoyed the other housewives, maybe in an extended version or something, add more of their POV chapters as well?

Read if you like : Broken Romance, Fiction
Would I pick it up again? No

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Housewife Chronicles by Jennifer Snow

Beth’s husband had an affair, moved in with his mistress and then died 2 weeks later. This leaves her in a bit of a mess. Especially when it turns out he died from poisoning and she seems to be the top suspect. Also his mistress happens to be her next door neighbour. Not a good time to be Beth.

At first I was worried this would be a little too predictable with the stressed out stay at home mom and a cheating husband story line. But Beth was just so likeable! She was sarcastic, funny and real. Gina, the next door neighbour, was naive but difficult to hate. Their group of girlfriends were entertaining and relatable.

I definitely recommend this one. Thank you to @netgalley for my advanced copy! Housewife Chronicles is out on January 12th.

I've always had my suspicions about the pretty perky housewives and what goes on behind their closed doors, and this story does not disappoint. We get to go behind the doors and see for ourselves what being a widowed housewife living next door to the girl your husband was having an affair with is really like. This is a little more modern version of my typical 50s housewife image, and I really enjoyed it! Told from the widow and the mistress's point of view in alternating chapters, the story gets explained bit by bit. It was very intriguing and kept me reading by never truly divulging ALL of the info that we want. We are along for the ride while Beth and her gaggle of girlfriends try to take the investigation into their own hands. And we get to be with Gina as she deals with grieving her true love, even though he was still married and had two teenage kids in the mix as well. It makes me want to move into that suburb, that cul-de-sac, that uptight neighborhood, and do some sleuthing of my own!!

Thank you NetGalley, Jennifer Snow for the ARC of Housewife Chronicles. This is my personal review.
I really enjoyed reading how the lives of Beth and Gina were so connected. The husband was a total jerk but hey his part of the story made the book what was it all about.
Beth’s kids were a bit annoying to me at times but some of the things they did were very typical of teenagers. I was disgusted totally with the actions of Beth’s mother-in-law.
I really liked Beth and how she handled everything that happened to her.
Publication date is January 12th.

This is such a mind twisting, head spinning romantic mystery/dark comedy that I really devoured!

I enjoyed the collage of characters! Women who were all up in everyone’s business, an evasive mouse, an over-worked cop, a sexy brother, a couple of opinionated children, and a dead cheating husband, a widow accused of murder...

Is it realistic…no, not really…it is a women’s fiction after all! There are so many laugh-out-loud moments, jaw dropping moments, and the twisted end. This was definitely a different sort of read for me…but one that I completely enjoyed! 4.5 stars!

Fun and fast read. After reading the first chapter, I had a hard time putting it down. The relationship between the main character and her friends, as well as her relationship with her children in this book is relatable and at times so true. It was a good mystery and the ending was not what I had expected.

This is a standalone book, though the title sounds like part of a series, and well it could be the beginning of one, going by the small group of friendly upper class housewives with various tones to their personality.

A mild romance with an added mystery element, this book made for a quick read. The writing style is good, and the narration is presented from the perspective of both Beth (the cheated housewife), and Gina (the homewrecker next door), and sounds balanced. Witty at places, the story emphasizes on a supportive sisterhood, and also brushes on guilt parenting and manipulative children.

Overall an OK read.

I have been a fan ofJennifer Snow for a while now, and with good reason. She writes page turners with heart. This one is a different vibe than her other books, and I liked the departure.
Beth is a mom and wife who is dissatisfied with her life but doesn’t know how to change it. The best part of her week is her chats with the other neighborhood housewives that have become her village. Come to find out, her husband is having an affair with one of the women and he turns up dead. They are both suspected and have to prove that they didn’t do it, but their tenuous relationship adds a dimension to the story that you wouldn’t expect. In the process, the detective investigating the case becomes a much bigger part of her life than she would have ever dreamed.

This book got more interesting the farther along into the story I got - such a fun read! There is a little bit of everything in this one - complex female friendships, romance, thriller/mystery - and I enjoyed the way the author mixed them all up to create an entertaining read. The author created some complex female characters that I enjoyed getting to know - I always appreciate when you can root for the character that you're supposed to see as the "villain", and this was a great example of that. Both Beth and Gina had their highs and lows and I loved both! Overall a great read!

Neighborhood affairs, literally. Murder mystery. Romance. Teenager issues. Yoga. There is even a mouse. A little something for everyone. Some parts are quite realistic and others will have you shaking your head, but go with the flow and enjoy. I would have been happier without the occasional foul language.

Housewife Chronicles by Jennifer Snow was the perfect read for me to start 2021. It is funny, intriguing, and just the jump start I need to get back into reading!

Beth Cartwright is a typical housewife with a distracted husband, a mischievous son, and a moody teenaged daughter. She has given up on her own dreams to meet their needs, even though she does have a small ceramics business where she creates what her customers dictate. Enter Gina Thompson, next door neighbor, young lithe yoga instructor and ...her husbands mistress?!

Beth can hardly believe it either but when her husband's affair is discovered by her group of friends he moves in next door with Gina and Beth's life is in chaos. But after only 2 weeks her husband dies and the police suspect murder. And Beth is the #1 suspect!

This book reminded me so much of the TV show Desperate Housewives, it totally could have been one of their storylines. I actually liked that about it as I enjoyed that show. I do wish the author would have developed the other friends' characters a bit more, but perhaps keeping the focus on Beth and Gina helped the story clip along. Each of the friends could possibly be the main character in other Housewife Chronicles books. I would look forward to that!

A very enjoyable murder mystery told with lots of humor and of course a bit of romance. I guess I'd call it a cozy mystery. Chock full of a "Housewives" cast of characters and 2 annoying teens. And the whole story is told from 2 POV's. The wife and the mistress. The story starts in present day and then swings back to a year ago to give more perspective. It's effective.

I'd definitely read another book by this author! She is right up my genre alley. Mixed! And a nice light book.

This was such a fun read and it only took me a couple sittings to finish this book about a jilted wife that finds out her husband is having an affair with the next door neighbor only 2 weeks before his untimely death. The neighborhood coffee crew helps her investigate any possible suspects in order to set her free. This book is actually quite humorous and very heartwarming at the same time.

The story is told from alternating perspectives of Gina (yoga teacher/next door neighbor) and Beth (widow/jilted wife).

I really enjoyed the author’s writing style and how she made all the women in the neighborhood relatable. I would recommend this to anyone that enjoys the Rom-Com genre.

Plus its only 256 pages - so super easy to get through in a quiet afternoon.
