I really like the front cover of the book. I thought there was some great recipes that I will definitely use but there where some I not heard of before. There was a few meals from the pictures that I didn’t like the look of. I will definitely give me more ideas on what to cook and to cut out sugar from my meals which is good idea.

This fab recipe book gives the reader knowledge and information on the Mediterranean diet, explaining the benefits of it and goes on to produce low-carb recipes which the reader can go on to cook and enjoy.

The recipes range from ‘lively starters’ which contains recipes such as appetisers, salads, snacks and soups. Plant based meals, seafood, savoury chicken, beef, pork and lamb, vegetable sides and sweets and fruit dishes. This fab variety of recipes caters to most dietary needs. The recipes are pretty simple and most but not all are accompanied with a photographic picture, displaying the end product.

I particularly like the look of the fish dishes, stuffed peppers and some of the dessert meals. I will definitely be giving those tasty dishes a go. Mediterranean food is usually very flavourful so I’m excited for how they will taste!

The back of the book has an index so it is easy to navigate through the book to specific recipes you intend to cook.

I was really keen to read this book; I'm stuck in a bit of a meal rut and really enjoy low-carb meals that don't sacrifice being filling for being low-carb. There's a great variety of recipes in here, from starters and snacks to main courses and puddings; I've already earmarked a couple for next week's meal plan! The other thing I like about this book is that there are plenty of 'cold weather' recipes, by which I mean stews and heartier meals that will hit the spot when the weather is colder and you seek a warm comforting, filling bowl of goodness!

The book is well laid out, most recipes have a picture but not all - initially I found this a little off=putting, but actually the recipes sound so delicious that I've gotten over it!

The recipes are easy to follow (with the exception that if you are British, like me, the ingredients are very 'American'... thankfully google can help with the lesser known swaps!) , they have the time each recipe takes, how many it serves as well as the nutritional values - which I find really helpful when I'm being mindful of how many calories I intake.

Low carb diets are currently a popular choice for many people looking to lose weight. These Mediterranean-inspired recipes lean heavily on vegetables, meats, and seafoods to create healthy, nutritious, flavorful, and satisfying meals.

As a distance runner, I don't personally subscribe to a low-carb diet, but lean proteins and vegetables are a major part of my food intake, and Clean Eating Kitchen is a good introduction to that lifestyle. The photography is beautiful, the ingredients are easy to source, and the directions are simple for even a novice cook. I'd say it has limited appeal for advanced home chefs, as the techniques and ingredients a are *very* basic, but lots of people are starting from that point and this is a great choice of cookbook for people in that category.

This is a great cookbook! I love that the introduction is short and the recipe portion is long unlike some cookbooks that are more about the story than the food. Lots of pictures and even more delicious recipes for low carb eating.

This is a nice Mediterranean cookbook for those who follow low-carb diets. My husband and I currently eat clean keto with a slant towards Mediterranean and I've read probably a dozen similar books. This is a good one. Note that it is for low-carb diets and not all recipes will work for keto diets. Photos are provided for about 1/3 of the recipes. Nutritional information is provided for each recipe. There are lots of recipes for vegetarians and it will work well for those with dietary restrictions. Many of the ingredients are on the pricier side (shrimp, octopus, pine nuts...) but lots also revolve around simple beans and veggies. The use of beans and grains may put off some strict keto folks, but there are enough other recipes to balance that out, and many keto folks transition to a healthy low-carb diet once they get to a maintenance period because of the benefits of foods that would be otherwise omitted. All in all, it's a good book with authentic flavors and truly healthy dishes.

Clean Eating Kitchen:The Low Carb Mediterranean CookbooK by Michelle Dudash is a nice cookbook that I would recommend to someone who is just starting with the Mediterranean diet. I really appreciated how every recipe had nutritional information and that the recipes are made with easy to find, fresh ingredients. There are recipes for every course and different lifestyles. A great addition for those looking to improve or change their eating habits in a delicious, easy, and healthy way.

After the science-y bit, about why a Mediterranean diet, and a low-carb one at that, should be beneficial to us, we get the recipes, in this pleasantly fat-free recipe book. (By that I mean the book has less fat, waffle and gratuitous lifestyle-selling, which is how it should be. As for the recipes, I guess you can check the data within.) What was a pleasant surprise was the inclusion of countries beyond Spain, Italy and Greece – the author's part- Lebanese heritage proving there is much more to the Mediterranean region than just the European corners one might normally think of. So we have nuts far more so than we have olives, fatayer before our frittata, and of course "zoodles" instead of our pastas.

Partly as a result, perhaps, what I pulled from these pages to try later were perhaps the less typical dishes – a lentil and onion soup full of simplicity and goodness, a chickpea stew that seemed too wintry for the Adriatic, and turmeric chicken burgers – just because my partner swears by it for health reasons. Reading through I see no problems with replicating the intended results, given the clear writing on offer. The book does kind of preach to the handy chef with a good store of foodstuffs at times ("for this recipe I use quinoa, as you're likely to already have it on hand" my arse), but the recipes never demand the top price implements or most exacting shopping list of us. Also they come with notice of swaps when certain ingredients aren't the be-all and end-all, and hints to make them fully family-friendly. Given that I'm posting this having sampled none of the goods herein, I still think I can recommend this book. People on a mission to cut the carbs will get a lot of mileage out of this, and a Mediterranean table as the author implies is one of the more instagrammable ones around, with the dishes here offering many things for the eyes as well as the tastebuds.

Anyone who knows me, knows I love a low carb lifestyle. I tend to feel my best when I’m sticking to a low carb diet, and I also love Mediterranean foods. This book is precisely that: a great mix of low carb and Mediterranean. The recipes look amazing and are equally as tasty. I especially like how the author includes the nutritional information under each recipe (this makes it easy for people who are tracking their macros). Overall, I would give this book five stars and I think all my other low carb lovers would as well.

Certainly a unique grouping of recipes. Not only healthy but they look awfully tasty too! Some ingredients can be found in most every grocery store but some you will have to hunt down in a local health food store. Some one pot dishes and fish dishes that I’ve never had combined with other things such as Chicken with Bell Peppers and Pecans. Chicken Paprikash with Mushrooms will be one I’ll be making soon. I love tuna salad for lunch and instead of mayonnaise, their recipe calls for a vinegar type salad dressing and avocado. Sounds delicious and much healthier for me. This cookbook is well done with a delectable way to eat healthier!

Lovely book of tasty recipes- fish, meat, chicken and vegetarian.
Particularly loved the herbs, seeds and spices used. Well written and lovely photos.
Have tried a couple of recipes already - found them easy enough with the instructions.

Michelle Dudash is a registered dietician and knows her stuff! She outlines reasons for writing this book with an experienced Mediterranean background. As I live part time in the Mediterranean, this book is a meaningful connection to the place I love most in the world but cannot be right now due to covid. The Mediterranean diet (or lifestyle) is known to be the healthiest there is. Not only is the food healthy, there is an astonishing plethora of superb ingredients for the picking or foraging. People tend to use ingredients which complement and enhance. Availability is wondrous.

Dudash continues with information on the low-carb lifestyle and ingredients used. Due to health reasons I must eat low carb and as an expert cook was thrilled to see new-to-me recipes here along with old favourites, many with a delicious twist. The low-carb lifestyle can be daunting at first but once you are accustomed to the idea you will discover an entirely new world of cooking and baking.

Before reviewing this book I made a few recipes including the delectable Deviled Eggs with Basil and Pine Nuts (used almonds instead), Roasted Cauliflower hummus (wow!), Lebanese Meat Pies with Ground Beef and Lemon (love!), Lemon Baked Cod with Pistachio Crust (I used steelhead trout - sublime), Mediterranean Meatloaf with Roasted Red Pepper Sauce (could use ajvar; delicious!) and Crunchy Almond Clusters, simply to re-live a Rovinj experience (one of my favourite towns on the planet). Note that nutritional information is included with recipes. The photographs are saliva inducing but know that not every recipe has one.

I kept marking the recipes to make and discovered not only a few but most are now on my list! Some are Italian-Inspired Guacamole with Balsamic, Red Onion and Basil; Shrimp-Stuffed Mushrooms with Lemon and Rosemary; Caramelized Onion and Red Lentil Soup; Sauteed Salmon with Figs (oh, how I miss fresh figs!); Chicken Meatballs with Fresh Orange Jam; and Burrata Cheese with Balsamic-Marinated Strawberries.

Whether you eat low carb or Mediterranean or both (or neither!), these recipes are delightful and inspiring.

As an Italian-American, I struggle with cutting carbs in my diet. This book has recipes that are familiar in a Mediterranean diet but with a low carb twist. The recipes are easy to follow with ingredients that are easily accessible. I do wish there were a few more pictures bc a) the pics that are in the book look incredible and b) some of the recipes are harder to imagine how they will turn out. So a pic of the finished dish would be helpful.

I was looking for a book just like this! Mediterranean food is my absolute favorite but it can be carb heavy. This book contains the best of both worlds. The recipes use common ingredients and the ingredient lists are reasonable in length. The instructions are very clear. There are not pictures for every recipe but there are quite a few. Overall, well done!

This is a great recipe book combining the healthy principles of Low Carb and Mediterranean cuisine.

The recipes are clearly laid out and show nutritional content including carbs and net carbs. Sections include: starters, plant based, seafood, meats, vegetable sides, and sweets. Many but not all of the recipes include photographs.

Clean Eating Kitchen: The Low-Carb Mediterranean Cookbook features healthy recipes for every meal!

I love Mediterranean cuisine, and so it happens that this book came into my life at the right time as I am trying to eat fewer carbs! I love how the author took the time to explain a low-carb diet, its different levels of carb restriction and educate us on the basics of a low-carb Mediterranean diet.

I love Lebanese food, and I was so excited to find a Kibbeh recipe using quinoa instead of Bulgur! I can’t wait to try it and make it for a friend who has just found out she is celiac!

The recipes are delicious and seem easy to replicate. I just wish that there were pictures for each recipe, not just a few scattered throughout the book. This is also not a book for everyday cooking as many ingredients used are either not as easy to find or costly, not making it inclusive for everyone.

Definitely great for entertaining and cooking for special meals!

I absolutely love this cookbook. I have been searching for a low carb Mediterranean cookbook for about a year now with less than stellar results. Usually, I am uninterested in the majority of the recipes, but the opposite was true for this book. I think I practically bookmarked every page because I want to try so many of them. I definitely recommend having this cookbook on your arsenal if you live a low carb or Mediterranean diet lifestyle- it's the best of both worlds.

Mouthwatering! A host of Eastern/Mediterranean infused recipes which have renewed my inspiration for this delicious, healthy style of eating! Some old favourites given unusual twists but many new to me from the author’s repertoire. Tantalising photos accompany simple, clear instructions which have motivated me to take action in the kitchen. The pesto sauce is divine! ( I’ve tweaked mine by adding cottage cheese which works well and keeps the fat content low). Just when I thought I had more than enough cook books.....along came this one!

The perfect cookbook, I have so much envy that this is not on my cooking bookshelf in my kitchen. The book is beautiful and bright, the text is clear and the recipes are simple but yet exciting. The only reason that it is not 5 stars is it doesn't seem perfect for the E-book format.

Of all the types of healthy eating habits, following a Mediterranean diet is the most sustainable for me. This cookbook has a plethora of healthy, low-carb seafood recipes that I am dying to try. The recipes and ingredient lists aren't too overwhelming and seem easy enough to follow.

At the beginning of the pandemic, I switched to the Mediterranean diet. I’ve lost 40 pounds and I don’t feel like I’m missing out on anything on it! I do find myself struggling to find lower carb recipes though, so I was glad to be approved for this arc! After reading the recipes, I immediately bought a vegetable spiraler!

The Mediterranean Diet is supposed to be one of the healthiest ways of eating per so many doctors (including mine!).

I’ve looked in to it a few times but the dishes are very different than what I normally cook and some of the recipes look a little complex.

Then Clean Eating Kitchen: The Low-Carb Mediterranean Cookbook comes a long and this way of eating seems a little bit easier. The photography is beautiful and the pictures practically jump off the page on to your plate. There were so many recipes that I would actually cook in this cookbook! There were still a few that were a bit out there for me, but overall, I really like the recipe offerings listed and loved that they were focused on healthy carbs.

I love cooking and eating but am not a gourmet chef. I also like to keep on top of my health and fitness but am not a fanatic. So this cookbook was perfect.

There was plenty of information to get you started and the recipes were simple and easy enough for most people to make and follow.. They were tasty recipes and ordinary, using normal ingredients rather than out of reach and hard to find ingredients.

Almost immediately, visually stunning images of fantastic food embrace you. Many recipes fill one page with captivating photos on the other page. The layout is clear and clean. There are pages of text; however, excellent spacing break up the pages, so your eyes are not overwhelmed. Pages remain clearly presented.

The book starts with essential tips and meal prep ideas. A few forms of low carb appear without covering keto, which is increasingly mainstream and popular. I found the start of the book to be the weakest section. I've reviewed several cookbooks and was surprised by how short this section is. Types of ingredients such as fruit, nuts, herbs, seafood and others are only quickly mentioned. There's none of the usual advice or help on the elements, e.g. lists of the best and worst types of ingredients.

I've spent a few decades experimenting with paleo, keto, Mediterranean and other types of eating. As a result, I was already familiar with most dishes or variations of them. I tried a few meals I wouldn't usually make and found them all to be equally delicious.

I like how you can look at a meal and in the bottom left corner you can see the time. If the time is 30 minutes or less, you see it highlighted in a circle making the quick meals easy to find. You can see how many portions each meal is making. That's lucky since some recipes are for 16 or 22 people. Since the ingredients are precise, you can downsize how much you use. Many meals are for a traditional family of 4. Couples and individuals will find their mileage varies.

Whilst low carb, this is not a keto cookbook; many meals are over 20 carbs. There is also no diet labelling for dishes. You will need to read ingredients to tell if a meal is pescetarian, vegan, vegetarian or nut-free etc.

Ultimately the book is what it says on the cover, a low carb Mediterranean cookbook. It is a good introduction for new or intermediate cooks. I enjoyed reading the book and experimenting with new flavours. If you're interested in low carb Mediterranean food, it is worth buying.

Dudash, a registered dietitian nutritionist, Cordon Bleu-certified chef, and contributor to Food Network, has compiled appetizing recipes offset with attractive photos. Dudash starts off with a short chapter titled Low-Carb Mediterranean Know-How which describes "how to fit low-carb recipes into your routine." Subsequent chapters focus on appetizers, plant-based meals, seafood, other main dishes, vegetable sides, and sweets. A few sample recipes include Roasted Cauliflower with cashews and turmeric, Kale Salad with blueberries and feta, or Umami Roasted Peppers with crispy potatoes. Per recipe, ingredients are relatively few and suggestions for substitutions are freely offered. Timing estimates and nutritional information are provided. Definitely worth a look for ideas on new, healthy meals.

Using her training as a dietician, nutritionist and cookbook author, Michelle Dudash delivers a well organized, easy to understand guide to combining low carb and Mediterranean meals in Clean Eating Kitchen: The Low-Carb Mediterranean Cookbook.

After explaining the low carb and Mediterranean diets, Dudash lists the ingredients you will be using and how often to include them in your diet. She then gives tips to get you started and lets you know that most of the dishes will take 30 minutes or less to prepare. Then it’s on to the beautifully photographed recipes! Recipe notes only add to each dish. For instance, tabbouleh salad is improved by using more parsley than bulgur wheat. The addition of chick peas, quinoa and feta cheese adds protein. White bean stew prepared in a slow cooker can be prepared in minutes and will be ready to eat in a few hours. Sautéed salmon with figs is perfect entree for family or dinner with friends. Side dishes are included as are desserts.

This book belongs on the shelf of anyone who wants to serve nourishing, healthy meals without spending too much time in the kitchen. As Michelle Dudash writes “Perhaps most importantly, enjoy every bite! Life is short. Eat flavorful food that energizes you, brings you joy and gives you vitality, inside and out.” 5 stars.
