"We all need love, even though people are increasingly divided by politics, race, and religion, and isolated by COVID-19 and excessive individual screen time. This book uses science and philosophy to show the need for love, types of love, and how to improve our love. It uses examples from real life, movies, and pop music to make the concepts easily understandable.

From the first paragraph, I knew this book would be a good one. I immersed myself into the book from the first chapter and I cannot say enough good things about this book! Honestly amazing! The writing is incredible and the plot is just one to die for. I am absolutely obsessed with this book. My favorite part would have to be the character development throughout the book. Character development is something I look forward to and this book did not disappoint.

I liked this book. It was really interesting and I liked the combination of everything you can think of music, poetry, science/research, psychology, etc. It really opened my eyes and made me consider all the different ways you can give and receive love in your life, and when it really comes down to it - love is the only thing that matters.

I come from a family of divorces - that’s multiple divorces. I’m 29 and am getting married next summer. I want to be as informed as possible to ensure I have the knowledge and skills to use my feelings and communication in the best possible way. One huge step is being mindful and self aware. This book really helped me with that. I’ve always been a romantic but this was enlightening. I think everybody should read this book. Love wins, always.

Great introduction to grab the reader. The author is a psychiatrist and clearly demonstrates his mastery of this topic with great anecdotes exemplifying the intent is each section and subsection.

The author works through each 7 type of love thoroughly, then presents and digests challenges of present day, with a focus on each subtype. Overall, I think the author does a great job of meeting this intent, however at times I felt it was verbose, with some extraneous tangents and felt disorganized.

Overall, I felt I learned tremendously from this read. It has given me a great framework to reference the many relationships in my life, and more importantly, perspectives on how to improve them!

I found The Five Love Languages life changing, and jumped into this one (by a different author) wondering if it would have the same impact. I really found the style of the book interesting, and relevant and would recommend it to those who want to know more about relationships and ways to enhance connections - and isn't that just about anyone?! Thanks to NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The 7 Love Types: Navigating love in a fractured world by Dr Christian Heim was such an eye-opening read. We take many things for granted and love – giving and receiving – is one of those things. I really liked how each love type was given care. The real-world examples really bring to life how modern day events can be related to old world adages. I highly recommend this book.

***** I received an ARC from NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for my honest review. *****

In this very insightful read. Dr. Christin Heim explores Love and how we've abandoned it's true meaning in search of happiness and productivity and yet it's what we need to survive and build connections. She explores the love types with real life examples and references from movies and songs and lovers of old.
