Description

The breath-taking new novel from the author of The Tattooist of Auschwitz and Cilka's Journey, based on a powerful true story of hope and survival.

'I want you to make a promise to me that you will always take care of your sisters. That you will always be there for one another. That you will not allow anyone to take you away from each other, ever. Do you understand?'

When they are little girls, Cibi, Magda and Livia make a promise to their father - that they will stay together, no matter what. Years later, at just 15, Livia is ordered to Auschwitz by the Nazis. Cibi, only 19 herself, remembers their promise and follows Livia, determined to protect her sister, or die with her. Together, they fight to survive through unimaginable cruelty and hardship.

Magda, only 17, stays with her mother and grandfather, hiding out in a neighbour's attic or in the forest when the Nazi militia come to round up friends, neighbours and family. She escapes for a time, but eventually she too is captured and transported to the death camp.

In Auschwitz-Birkenau the three sisters are reunited and, remembering their father, they make a new promise, this time to each other: That they will survive.

From Heather Morris, the author of the six-million copy phenomenon, The Tattooist of Auschwitz, comes an astonishing new story that will break your heart, but leave you amazed and uplifted by the courage and fierce love of three sisters, whose promise to each other kept them alive in a place without hope.

Wow, I already know this is going to be another fantastic book from Heather Morris! It drew me in immediately, so much so that I forgot I was only reading a sample and was so disappointed when it came to an end. Heather’s writing has the ability to make me get lost in her words and I can’t wait to read Three Sisters in it’s entirety.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you for the limited text sampler of this, I adored the previous two books and can see instantly that this one will be just as good. This opens really well and from the introduction of the characters you can see how well written this is and that they are characters you are going to completely root for. Love this author’s writing style and can’t wait to read the rest.

The third in the series from the author of the Tattooist of Auschwitz. As the name suggests it focuses on three sisters called Magda, Livi and Cibi. They made a promise to their father that they will always stay together and look after each other. When Livi, the youngest girl is called up to go and work for the Germans, Cibi (the eldest) volunteers to go with her so she isn't alone. Just like Heather Morris' other literary works this is also well written and you get sucked in and before you know it you have read 50 pages in an afternoon!

It’s hard and strange to say I love these books by Heather Morris because of the heart-wrenching awful things that happen. But there’s something about them that just sucks me in, and I don’t want to stop reading until I’m finished.

This book almost got me in the feels more due to being a sister myself, and I would do anything for her. It constantly made me think about what I would do in those situations.

This sampler has only made me want a final copy more!!!!

This is a short sample of Morris' third book in the tattooist of Auschwitz series and so a full and specific review cannot really be given. However, the story starts well by introducing the main characters (the sisters Cibi, Magda, and Livia) and pulls you into the plot. The writing style is good and I can already see this being a heartbreaking story full of love, perseverance, and willpower. I can't wait to read the rest! Thanks to Heather Morris, Bonnier Books UK, and NetGalley for providing an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Three Sisters by Heather Morris sampler definitely made me want to read the complete story. It was just enough to pique my interest and hook me in.
The Three Sisters sampler begins with a promise between Cibi, Magda, and Livia to their father that they will always stay together no matter what adversity they encounter.

Heather Morris is the creator of the phenomenal Tattooist of Auschwitz and Cilka's Journey and the Three Sisters sits alongside these novels.
Morris handles such a sensitive subject incredibly well and her writing carefully discusses the atrocities whilst making you care deeply about her characters.

An engaging introduction to what appears to be another excellent Heather Morris novel. As always, I have no doubts this novel will be utterly heart-breaking but also inspiring.

In his final days, a father gets his three daughters Cibi, Magda and Livia to make a promise. To always stick together and look out for each other. Then the war and the Germans mean the girls have to make another promise to each other. To survive. A power piece of work. Something that will grab you and draw you in till the end. A sense of history that shouldn't be forgotten
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to receive a sampler of the book.
