"The first day Mother arrived at school, I was certain of two things. The first was that I would never fall in love. The second was that magic in any form did not exist." Famous last words by Dianna who attended Mrs. Rutley's School for Young Ladies.

A wonderful story that wrapped around my heart and did not let go until the end. The premise of a group of girls who had attended the school and made a lifelong pact to always come to each others aid. Now, years later, with the head mistress ill, Dianna returns to tell her story of love!

Sweet and enchanting with a plethora of amazing characters including the Marquess of Magic who won her heart!! Cannot wait for more in this series!.

It touched my heart!

Diana and James met in a book shop and when she saw him, panicked and pick up a most improper book. The second time she bumped into him in the same shop she had the same book! Needless to say he teased her and after looking at what he had purchased, she then went on to tease him. Diana didn’t believe in love she had learned well with her parents that things were not as they seemed and they both lived a lie. James had been brought up knowing that both his parents loved him.

Two men wanting to court her, one who had an ulterior motive to get her father’s money and one who kept a deep secret about another woman. Who was she to choose?

I loved Mrs Rutley’s character, she was headmistress of the School for Young Women who also became a friend.

Such a beautiful heart wrenching ending in all its happiness, it tore at my heartstrings and brought tears to my eyes. What a wonderful heartfelt story with a HEA!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a very well-written, slow-burning romance story with wonderful characters. The book has a decent mystery, a bit of drama, mild love scenes, great secondary characters and a nice ending.

Lord James Barrington likes illusions and his family nicknamed him the Marques of Magic and it stuck. Being the ultimate friend he has stuck out his neck fora friend in need. Only its a secret that mustn't get out.
Miss Diana Kendricks has a disillusioned view on marriage from her parents and wishes not to ever be married. However her father sends an associate her way to woo.
This is a continuation of a series I have truely been enjoying. You don't need to read previous books to enjoy this one. Although you might want because this book is so enjoyable. Engaging and enthralling happily ever afters is what you will find. The head Mistress will stop at nothing to see her favorite students happy. Which can be rather suspenseful at times and rather unique.
I recieved a free copy so that I might tell you what I honestly thinks. Hope you enjoyed my review. Now go enjoy the book

Miss Diana Kendricks was stuck at the girls' school she goes to. Most of the other girls are going home for the holidays. Miss Jenny Clifton was also staying. She was not in a hurry to marry even though she was eighteen. Her parents no longer lived together, and she had no interest in a horrible marriage like her parents.

James, the Marquess of Barrington, was a good-looking man and he loved the gift of illusion and magic. He was kind and very giving. He had been making illusions since he was a small boy. His father is dead, and his mom lives in London.

It is an exciting tale of very mean men and silent suffering women. There are always a few good eggs
and he was one. Diana and James teased each other and could talk on the same level. I found the novel enjoyable and am glad I had the chance to read it.

I received this ARC from Net Galley and voluntarily reviewed it.
